- The brand new Scott Foil is faster, comfier and lighter. Those are the claims, but what did Liam Cahill think? He headed to the shores of Lago d’Isero in northern Italy to see whether it is nice to ride in sunny weather. Here are his first ride impressions.

Audio very low and the the music almost blow up my speaker tv and I almost got a heart attack. Lovely editor
Great thing there's closed captioning cause I'm now deaf after that volume blast at the first transition. Thanks Editor!
Nice video, thanks a lot for your first insights 😊
One question regarding sizing...how tall are you (& saddle height) and which frame size did you ride with which handlebar/stem combo?
Cheers from Switzerland
Manu
The music is very loud compared to the presenter's voice :(.
I'm death now. Thanks
What is the climbing performance like? Is there a test to help buyers understand differences between bike brands ?
Damn fix your sound levels. Needed to crank the volume right up to hear the speech then in comes the neighbour waking music...
Please compare the ride feel with Addict RC Pro. I’d imagine the Addict RC’s 1/14” steerer and more rounded carbon bar would be much stiffer than the New Foil’s 1” and steerer and more aero bar.
Nice video. When can we buy frame sets in the US?!
very very nice video! Thanks a lot! Do you know the weight of the RC Pro ? Because i'm looking for this one ^^
16:05 camera man was cramping up, was probably squatting.
put syncros bar on 3T strada and you get a new foil :))))))
This bike looks fast! Will it be racing in this years TDF?
yesyes
Love
All the modern top tier bikes look, ride and feel the same. Price tag can fluctuate only. Take any bike review, they also sound the same.
Not true, they have different shades of dark paint sometimes.
Would you be able to fit some aero bars to it.
Current foil you can and they are getting better at eeeking more revenue out of their products, sorry I meant expanding their product offerings so I'd imagine it will be on the cards
bea utiful bike....
Damn don't you guys check the audio before uploading, the music is 10x louder then the rest of the video, my eardrums are still painfull!
That new cockpit can’t possibly be stiffer than the current one being that thin.
Might be because the new bars are narrower?
Spent about 500 miles on it and so far so good. czcams.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA Pros:1. Very light2. Solid quality build3. Fast delivery: It arrived 5 weeks earlier than expected.4. Easy assemblyJust a few cons but nothing major:1. Cheap tin tubes and had flat on first day... but not a big deal. I replaced the tubes.2. Seat is a bit uncomfortable but that's pretty much the same situation with most bikes.3. Seat post is a bit long/high for a smaller size 48 bike - had to saw 2 inch off to fit properly. The lowest setting is too high. The post locking system does not seem to hold well (perhaps because I saw 2 inch off).4. wheels are not tubeless compatible (from what I can tell)
I have the 2022 version and while this bike is probably more aero and is faster, as a small rider I can't even fit on their 49cm let alone 47cm anymore.
2022 version is a far more aesthetically pleasing bike, I think it will age really well imho while this thing will age quickly and badly like the Cannondale SystemSix which looks a really dated bike now.
Sure looks like a cervelo s5
It looks like a Scott Plasma 10 with road handlebars.
But much much lighter than the S5
@@umah. i believe he tested with a different set of wheels same can be done with a cervelo not much difference but you are right might be a little lighter
@@angelortiz353 after searching, you're right, just a little bit lighter, not much. I was wrong. The updated version S5 weighs 975g (the older S5 weighs 1085g), the Scott new foil RC frame weighs 915g. The fork is also a bit lighter too.
@@umah. hard to say which one is the ugliest though 😂 think this bike will age really badly and look odd within five years, a bit like the Cannondale SystemSix which has a design that neither looks like a classic bike aesthetic or inline with current aero design philosophy and fashion.
The rear end just looks like a Giant Trinity 🤷♂️
Weight didn't matter last week #marketing
We were thinking more like the Cervelo S5 but the Trinity is a great shout
Love the front end but that rear just spoils the whole bike.
They worked incredibly hard to make it as Fugly as the Cervello S5.
I like the fact you can purchase a proprietary light that fits nothing else for an additional excessive price due to no competition. If that feature was about safety it would have come with the bike imho.
I must admit I did think OMG has a Cervelo designer switched jobs! But those original photos the paint didn't suit it at all, looks nice in this colour though...but come on all businesses are trying everything on to increase their margins (your light example), after Covid Holidays cycle manufacturers definitely think we are all good for it...you just wait till the light is on subscription too and then there's that balloon payment...
Bloody hell. The music. It hurt my ears (watching it with in-ear earphones)
Old Venge owner before it and I got ran over by a van. In the market for an S5 now. This is very similar in geometry, but its more than £10k?! If it were 6/7 I'd by it in a heartbeat but if you're spending 5 figures on a bike I'm going for something nicer than a Scott.
Scott goes beyond the bikes design...
Yeah, they make pure junk framesets sold to gullible suckers. LOL
too much stress on the seat stay and tube. not too strong. that is where the problem is going to be.
Thanks for the insight
The frame looks sexy but the handlebar/stem combo looks fuglyyyyy
It’s too heavy….
It’s a pound off the weight limit 😂
You're too weak
Was enjoying the video until you said "Stupidly long and stupidly deep like the pros are using". Please have more respect for pros. Also everyone has a different bike fit geometry, and no build will fit all. This takes away from the adaptability to fit more users.
Actually I would consider this to be a quite admirable comment. I call things stupidly good all the time.
@@GrouEEf this is why so many bystanders have no respect for pro cyclists anymore because society has no respect for those that give up their lives sometimes literally for the sport that we all enjoy
@@db613 your ability to process irony is a bit limited, isn't it?
@@GrouEEf I have shorter legs and longer torso and need a longer stem on every bike I buy. Becomes increasingly difficult when the bike manufacturers make runs like this.
And then to call it stupid is offensive when it's very small minded
A junk bike sold at a silly price to idiots. LOL
