When you were playing with your finger and the Galileo 8 haha that was weird. Awesome videos btw 👍
They need to improve the sensitivity settings for the right analog mapping. It's better than it used to be, but it's still no match for just using a finger.
@TakiUdon would u recommend thr g8 over the vagabond?
Beautiful transition marry Christmas
Glad to see as always phones getting more powerful as the years go by. The only issues I have is the support in both android software and security updates with this brand. It's the only reason why I stick to bigger brands like Samsung. I'd like to see more manufacturers support their devices at least 4 years down the line.
That's one thing that's good about apple. 7 years is the most generous out there.
With Google claiming 10 on their new lineup, (Google doesn't exactly have a great track record) more companies should follow in their steps (if they pull it off).
There is no security issue in Android, don't lie.
Why would it matter if a phone receives or not receives updates after 5 years? You are probably gonna upgrade to a new one anyway plus not to mention the phone is not going to explode if it doesn't recieve any updates ffs.
You guys are pathetic crying for updates,i seriously don't understand why it's so important for you guys.I personally have been using a phone i bought 5 years ago and it's essentially stuck with android 10 but i still use it everyday with no issues whatsoever,i use it for emulation too and it's better because android 11 restricted sd card storage.

A 50% bump in both openGL and Vulkan.
Android users are eating good this year. Too bad we dont actually get games that utilize this power.
Despite being less powerful, the new iphone can run resident evil.
It's a blessing and a curse. The few games that can push this chip lock their graphical options to select phones that are weaker than this. I wish we could get some more console ports from the last 5 years or so on Android.
I am pretty sure the IPHONE chipsets are still more powerful than the SD8 GEN 2, and much more optimized by a vertically integrated company and console like walled garden
@@jesusbarrera6916 geekerwan's Chinese channel made a video with benchmarks of all kinds at every wattage, basically a performance/watt graph.
Basically the a17 beats the sd8gen2 narrowly in multicore and by a decent margin in single core.
But the 8gen2 is quite significantly better in GPU score.
The 8gen2 is also a bit more efficient over all power draws. Both cpu and GPU.
But like you said, optimization does play a bigger role.
The new mediatek dimensity chip beats the 8gen3 in CPU, and GPU and efficiency over the entire power draw graph.
But the it would still be worse in an emulator like yuzu because the YUZU Devs didn't optimize for Mali GPUs.
So personally I think you are half right, iPhones applications are generally more optimized, like in the case of genshin impact, but that's mostly on the application developers and not apple itself.
@@jesusbarrera6916That's the advantages for being a walled garden, you only need to optimize your software for a single type of hardware. Android devs however have to compromise for the various types of SoCs
Hey Taki, could you please share is the keyboard that used in the video? Looks dope!

How does the Leadjoy MC1+ compare to, say, the Gamesir G8? Would it be worth considering?
Given the price, I rather just spend $300 on an Odin 2 lol.
Hell yea, that has a better software than a damn phone.
@@zZiL341yRj736 I dunno about better software but given it's a handheld with A LOT of power for less than half the price? Ya know? Lol
Meh, the Odin 2 is not pocketable
But it's a separate device, if we want pocketable, there's the RP4 and RP4 pro.
With this thing you need to attach a controller which you need to stow somewhere and then take the time to attach it, put your phone on DND and drain your precious phone battery lol, ya know? For more than double the price.
It's a phone. A multi-use device. Not a dedicated one.

Can i call people on my odin 2?
Once again Red Magic will be a great phone but people who want customization and longevity will choose OnePlus or Xiaomi for the open kernel source features. ZTE should release the kernel source of their phones at least a year later so people can install custom roms.
Ideally, they'd release kernel source within the first month of a release. There shouldn't be anything of value in there to stop them.
Not only that but ZTE is not very known to give software updates for more than a year. That's why I'm waiting for the oneplus 12. But the device is looking spicy
@@TakiUdon Hey Taki, what do you think of this idea?
As a consumer we have different ecosystems to choose from, and different device types. Instead of getting "locked-in" to one brand, we consider their strengths and try to buy devices with access to different ecosystems. That way we bypass arbitrary limitations imposed on the consumer, and don't miss out on some great exclusive content.
For 2024, I believe I found the optimal solution. At least in my opinion.
Form-factor - Ecosystem - OS
Phone: Google: AndroidOS
Tablet: Apple: iPadOS
Laptop: Microsoft: Windows10 Pro
Desktop: Open Source: Linux Dualboot
Console: Proprietary: Sony
In more detail; Device - Accessory
- Samsung S24+, Razer JungleCat
- iPad Mini 7 SIM, GameSir G8
- Frameworks 16, Razer V3 Pro
- Custom AM5 Gaming PC, ZorinOS
- Sony PS5 Pro console
If customization and longevity are your top priority, then I would go with Nothing over OnePlus. OnePlus isn't the company that they used to be, and their new phones and OS reflect that.
I wanted a Red Magic but they don't ship to my country and I bought a OnePlus 11😊
I have the RedMagic and the Shadow Blade 2 controller (Gamesir G8) How did you get it to work with the Arena Breakout? When i try to use the gamesir app the right analog is so hard to use. The x gravity built in app is even worse for the right stick. Please help
Dou you plan on reviewing that new G8 Gamesir controller shown in the video? Apparently it's the new top dog of the mobile controllers.
Top dog is that controller or the Vagabond controller with rumble. Neither of them have it.
@jaydev504 vagabond is literally an alien tho wide aff looking longer than the steam deck 😭😭
Was really tempted to get this phone which I doubt most will even really be getting to use as one but the odin 2 is just much more convenient for me and has all the power I need.
As he said, we're not even maxing out the 8 gen 2 in the switch emulators yet. The odin 2 and other 8 gen 2 devices should be fine for years before they start showing limitations for gaming. Even something a few years old like the SD865 still emulates nearly everything.
Id argue its much more convenient having a smartphone and game console in one package than having them as 2 separate devices..
@@fug33 nah. it seems convenient but it's a compromised experience. clip-on controllers never feel right and it's something extra you need to carry, often they need their own battery/charging, ergonomics are usually bad, and you're eating up your phone's battery while playing. this is why dedicated handhelds have become so popular recently
@@roastveggies "something extra you need to carry" - as opposed to having to carry both your smartphone and handheld gaming console? odin2 is the only handheld that comes close in power to red magic - odin2 isnt a small device and its easier to carry a snes 8bitdo gamepad and red magic than it is to carry both your smartphone and a odin2
not to mention its cheaper buying just smartphone and gamepad than it is buying a smartphone and a equally powerful handheld
@fug33 I know what you're saying to be fair but I prefer a dedicated handheld. I was clipping my s23 in and out a gamesir controller and got fed up of it. No dedicated "back button" either... the Odin 2 absolutely does all my gaming needs and I keep my mobile phone.. as a phone away from games.
I want to ask about Gamesir G8. Would you be able to use that controller with iPhone 11? Or can you recommend some amazing controllers that can work with iPhone 11?
Hello bro I like your videos I hope you will make a video sure Retroid Pocket 4+ and PRO :)
That is what I'm really looking forward to. A smartphone is still a smartphone, a phone lol.
So far, the 8 Gen 3 just screams "wait for the Snapdragon 8 gen 4". Yes, the benchmarks are better, but there's nothing to apply it to. If it was the difference between getting PS3 and Xbox emulation, that would be one thing, but as it stands, it's just a superficial bump over the 8 Gen 2.
Plus, Gen 4 is looking like it will be a big improvement now that it will use Oryon cores by Nuvia
At this point switch emulation is that high emulation available for android. Which the last 3 snapdragon chips could run easily. I wish they would bring x360 and ps3 for Android
@@netnomad47ps3 is hard to decode
It's a pretty significant jump. The problem, and for quite sometime now, it's software optimization. The emulators simply suck, even on low powered handhelds you constantly see drivers and updates making all the difference in performance and the supposed problems of a device were not on the hardware front.
PS3 on pc still needs a decent amount of improvement, its going to be a long time until a mobile emulator comes out

Leadjoy MC1+
setting the beast aside, how long will this phone be supported with OS updates and security updates? should you choose a samsung s24 ultra (coming next year) or get a redmagic if you are looking at performance AND security?
only 2 OS updates, security updates for 4 years though, also bands wise sucks in the states, especially 5g, it's what's pushing me away and the somewhat too large screen size, I prefer a more compact phone
I would rather get the Realme GT5 Pro or Vivo IQOO 12.
I can speak to this because I update all of the RM phones that I have whenever they have a new phone release (starting from the RM 6). Each phone got or is waiting to get a single main OS version update. For example, if a phone launches with Android 11, they will eventually update it to Android 12, but they will rarely update it to Android 13. You can get around this by installing an AOSP ROM, but the tradeoff isn't worth it. As for security updates, they release updates for the entire product line that I own 1-2 times yearly. You can go to their updates page for any of their previous phones and see the latest software update that they released to judge their track record.
RM5G is the oldest phone with a recentish update. That was last updated last year.

This and the RM8 make for a good primary phone. My daily driver is actually an older Snapdragon phone from the parent company of Nubia. They have good prices on their phones, but you should expect to only ever get one Android version update during the life of the product. In this case, this phone will ever only see Android 15 at a maximum, with security patches throughout the year.

Yes, you can use a 3rd party launcher with this without losing access to the gaming features. The game launcher that this comes with can be bypassed after you add games to the list that they have. When you boot up the game from a 3rd party launcher, it will still have the gamespace UI around the game.
