    Update post 1 month of installation. The bike runs great and sounds great too! Love it...
    There is no more leaking issue. Once the exhaust sealant was set and formed a perfect seal!
    No remapping of ECU needed, runs great.

    Thanks for the tips, i just opened up my same pipe for my '18 Vstrom 650 and i got no instructions and i probably would have missed that gasket issue.
    I had the same Delkevic slip on muffler on my 09 Concours and loved it. Last week when the buyer drove my Concours away I thought wow that Delkevic does sound nice! It sounds much different riding the bike as opposed to standing on the street.
    Ride safe!!

    Excellent explanation, thanks buddy. It's good that you mention the areas to watch out for, such as the CO2 sensor wire and the location of the gasket. I've got the 2008 V-Strom 650, and planning to fit a Delkevic soon because the stock exhaust makes the engine hard to hear above the wind noise! By the way, I read in an earlier comment that you're Malaysian. I lived three years in Malaysia in my youth on Penang island and the mainland - wonderful country and people. All the best.

    I've got the Delkevic exhaust installed on my GS500E. I love it. It took the bike from sounding like a sewing machine to sounding like a motorcycle. I'm thinking about a Vstrom as my next bike. If so, it's getting a Delkevic as well. I noticed you have Shad bags. Is there a particular reason why you picked these rather than stock? What do you think of them?

    • @AdvExOz
      @AdvExOz  Před 3 lety +1

      Yea, Delkevic is definitely the way to go. I feel the same, sewing machine to a growling machine.
      As for the shad , I love it. It's not too bulky and works well for the kind of riding I do. I leave the paniers on all the time so with the size, it's much more practical for daily use.
      One of the main reason I went with shad is the looks and also the pricing. The paniers cost me $250 for the set, and I think the brackets were like $200.
      The top box was also around the $150 mark. They all share the same key. Hard case + water proof .
      The stock ones are expensive and I personally think the shad ones look better and cheaper to replace if damaged. I also like the fact that it opens from the top.
      On the downside, you can't fit a helmet in the paniers. The top box fits my helmet and other bits and pieces.

    Any advantage in swapping out the header to justify the cost & effort? The bulk of the weight & flow restriction is in the stock end can.
    Also, will you need dyno tuning when installing a full system?

    • @AdvExOz
      @AdvExOz  Před 3 lety +1

      I don't the there is any benefits is swapping out the headers. The stock ones work just fine.
      Yup all the weight and restrictions is in the can.
      You you purchase the Delkevic system you get 2/3 or the syetem, so you will still need the stock headers.
      No tuning needed. Mine runs fine.
      Delkevic has tested the systems on the vstrom and in their video, ( link in the description) they say no tuning needed.

    Hi I have recently purchased a bike identical to yours with the Delkevic exhaust system already installed.
    Unfortunately the muffler is rubbing against the swing arm and causing damage to alloy swing arm. Apart from twisting muffler slightly I still cannot get good clearance. I notice my muffler bracket is attached to the inside of the bike mounting point. I was wondering is your support bracket ( one with the rubber surround) that holds the muffler attached inside or outside at the bike support bolt. Muffler ,swing arm clearance is poor. Suggestions welcome.

    • @AdvExOz
      @AdvExOz  Před 2 lety

      Hi Mate..
      You will definitely need to mount the bracket to the outside rather then the inside.
      Also dial the preload up to raise the bike alittle., I did realise that my swingarm was touching the exhaust when I was fully loaded up with luggage, and found that my preload was set too low.
      Now that I have got it adjusted, no more issues.
      Hope this helps.. if you found the video helpful, pls do like and a sub would be greatly appreciated.

      Thank you for your quick reply.
      I have now rectified my muffler bracket and adjusted my preload as you suggested.This will be good for solo riding.
      Its unfortunate that the Delkevic System has this clearance issue on the late model V Strom 650s.
      I occasionally intend to ride two up with panniers or maybe ride a rough road.
      Im not confident that the muffler, swing arm won't rub regardless of pre load.
      Im now thinking I like to bend pipework out a tad. Probably not possible.
      Maybe a mod to the muffler inlet so its on a very slight angle. Cut and weld.
