Today at MTE and met with Yvan and Sylvie
It was a pleasure meeting you
Do you work from home? How are you always first?🤣🤣
@alexbryan7641 I work at the office some days and others remotely from home😜
I will be polishing and coating my own two cars with 8 year coating when I get home from the ship, and then I will be polishing and coating my car in Iceland and also my brothers car when I get there this summer, so I need to get educated :) Thanks guys :)
Thank you.
I hope a LOT of people see this... the NEED to watch this.....
Thank you.
Always enjoy watching you guys never gets boring 💪🏼💪🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Glad to hear it!
Love your videos, always good stuff for DIY people like me and also great wisdom and content for the more serious projects
Thank you.
I think Nick leveled Yvans first purposeful highspot shortly after he put it there 😂 thanks for these, gives me confidence to try it out!
Yes he did
Awesome presentation as always. My Black Toyota Camry has extremely glossy, Ceramic Coated scratches. Clear coat conservation!!
Perfect
Did several cars this fall with your products (including your panel prep!). Came out fantastic. Thank you for your product line.
Great to hear!
Hi, great tutorial on applying ceramic coating, enjoyed watching, thanks..
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video guys 👍😁
Thank you 😁
Another great video. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
My dad has the same car, same issue with the hatch when I’m trying to wash it 😂. Keep the keys far away from you. The Subaru logo is a sensor and it opens automatically when you get close
Thanks for the tips!
You guys rock !!!! Great video ty
Thank you.
How many bottles of the 3 Year Ceramic Coating would you need to do a complete 2023 Lincoln Aviator including windows, trim and black painted wheels?
One
First, super great video.
The more I watch, the more co fidence in doing it I get. Can this graphine coating be applied outside the garage or under the Sun, daylight?
Yes you can!
@diydetailofficial Excellent! You guys are the best with products. Excellent, excellent...wonderful....🙂
Thank you.
Hey Nick & Ivan want is the difference between DIY Rinseless and Opt riseless I've been using Opt since I saw Ivan demo it several years ago
The DIY Detail Rinseless Wash is much newer technology, keeps the wash media cleaner, and cleans better. Plus our surfactant/polymer hybrid leaves nothing on the paint.
Hey Yvan and Nick! I was wondering if we can reuse the foam applicator and our ceramic coating leveling/ buffing towels for another ceramic coating for another time after soaking them in rinseless wash
Yes you can!
Did you coat the roof? I did not see that in the video. You guys are awesome!!
Yes, some things get skipped through editing
The two towel method is a must with coatings imo. I even come back with a third towel after I’m done and go over the whole vehicle again just to be sure.
Good call
For both leveling and fluffy towel,do you wipe down on the same side for the whole vehicle? Great video, thanks.
You can, it really makes no difference
This is what I’ve been dying to see…coating in real time…
Thanks, here’s another one

As usual nice video. Do you have also something for plastic or trim restoration except ceramic coating. And also for motor dressing?
Not at this time
Do you guys have a video showing the hydrophobics on this coating?
We don’t, but many people have posted videos in our Facebook group
bit.ly/DIYDetailFacebookGroup
Hope the 3 year coating returns to stock soon!! Any eta? Thank you!
Hopefully next week
Great video as always guys. Just out of curiosity, how much of the bottle was left after you finished that car? I use your coatings but found that your applicator used more than when i apply with a foam block and suede applicator. For example, if im using the 5yr coating, i could get 2 large sedans out of one bottle. Love your products by the way. Thx
2 cars from one bottle is normal
Can you apply another coating in 1 year? Or should you polish everything off first?
You will need to lightly polish.
Since when is the monopoly man into car detailing? Just joking guy. Great video and DIY products
Thank you!
Is Diy Detail coming out with a palm sander?
Eventually
On a test panel, could Yvan or Nick show what happens, or what it looks like when, instead of wiping too you, you wait too long and how to fix that situation? If you have already mentioned this in a video, I apologize, could you include a link to it?
It’s near the end of this video
If you are doing the ceramic coating solo (no one to assist), you'll need to put the applicator down and grab the two towels and wipe....then grab the applicator again and continue, correct?
Yes
I bought Adams Graphene Ceramic two years ago but didn't use it. I got new truck what is easier your 3 or 5 year or theres at this point.?
I haven’t tried theirs, but ours is extremely easy
How long is the cure time? Im also curious about if this works on vinyl wrap as well as the self life after the bottle is open? Sorry i just love rhe knowledge lol.
It’s one hour after application that you can drive it into the elements. After one week it’s fully cured. Once the bottle has been opened, it’s good for another 4-6 months
@diydetailofficial thank you so much for the info. Does your products work well with ir lamps? Or is that unnecessary?
Completely unnecessary
How does applying 8 year coating to PPF affect crosslinking time when compared to paint? Can I use the perforated decon towel on PPF to prep the surface?
It will be slightly faster on ppf, yes you can use the Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel on PPF
I want red gloves now
amzn.to/42x2cnm
Got them in, thanks fellas!
Is the 3 year or 5 year easier to coat with? Worked with polish and compound before for reference and did well. Is one significantly easier? Thanks
They are all very user friendly.
Here is a crazy question. If I wanted to practice coating for the first time and I didnt want to use my car, what would be some top recommendations of things to coat for practice?
lawn mower
Bicycle, lawnmower, fridge, computer, your windshield.
neighbor 's car when he goes on a trip for a few days
Mother inlaws car😅
@@user-dr1qo5fv9flmfao!!!
I’m not sure if I would wanna put even pre-soaked coating towels or applicators in my washer. I just prefer to toss them keep anything with high solvents or chemicals off my clothes and out of my washer. Just my preference
Nothing wrong with that.
You mentioned that in this example you use the ceramic coating on the lower plastic mud guards because in this case the car is new and the matt plastic isn't weathered, but I don't see any mention on your site about the graphene coating having any UV blocking qualities. Can you explain the benefit of using this coating on such a surface other than just the hydrophobic qualities? In fact what would be the benefit of using this coating on any of the exterior facing molding/plastic/etc. of the car if there is no UV protection(Unless I have this completely wrong)? Thanks for the explanation.
Coatings provide protection from oxidation. Plastics that are already oxidized, will continue to do so under the coatings
@@diydetailofficial Thanks. What then do you recommend after polishing and prep when getting ready to coat the exterior of an older car - specifically what to treat the plastic parts prior to or after ceramic coating?
Treat the plastic after polishing, before coating.
How many towels will be used in coating a vehicle that size?
One short nap, one long nap.
If using a palm sander to polish do you need use a paint thickness gauge to test clear coat thickness ?
No
@@diydetailofficial thank you. What about of I used the Milwaukee 15 throw da
@ac7384 no worries
For detailers, what are the economics of offering ceramic coatings? Can you charge more to apply the ceramic coating versus a sealant or wax? I don’t think you can charge double for the cc service versus the others. But since the cc is supposed to last for years, that customer is not going to come to you to do it again for a couple of years. But with the sealant, they might come back in 6 months or a year to repeat the service. I’m not trying to be argumentative, I’m genuinely curious to see the feedback.
Most start at over $1000 to start
@@diydetailofficial Wow! And how much would a professional detailer charge for a full detail with a sealant or wax application? It’s got to be over $500.
@@jsonlee01 on average detailers to stay in business need to charge 100-120$ per hour
I bought the 5.5 inch yellow pad to do a polish with orbital palm . If there is 303 Ceramic Graphene spray on the car will the polish take it off so can be ready for your coating?
Yes, that’s sufficient
@@diydetailofficial Do you have 5 Year coming in and Ill need it with the panel prep to do my G Wagon 😀.
Is there any benefit to coating the inside of the glass and/or the door jams?
Door jams yes, but never coat inside glass
You insist on using DIY panel prep with your coatings. But is there any reason we cant use a iso mix? Essentially the final results is to have a clean surface which isop/water mix should accomplish. Totally understand you need to promote your own products.
ISO should not be used before any coating, leave it in the medicine cabinet where it belongs. Use the panel prep that matches your coating.
@@diydetailofficial I'm referring to a properly diluted mixture here of distilled water and ISO. About a 12% dilution mixture.
2nd!
Thank you.
1st! Let's go
Lucky, Humberto was waiting in line at MTE
I'm jealous. Maybe next year. @@diydetailofficial
See you there
3rd! Lol
Thank you.
thanks for the tutorial! trying to order your 3 year coating, currently sold out, do you have an ETA for additional stock? Thank you
Thank you, should be next week
I normally leave the 3 year 3-4 minutes but never had any problems. Am I doing it all wrong?🫣
Nothing wrong
