    Every video I watch suggests a cross-hatch pattern when applying a coating.
    And here, Mr. Rinsless, I mean, Ivan, is suggesting using circles. It does make sense since there is no stop or start points.
    Trim your edges, then apply in circles.
    The things I learn.

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  Před rokem +1

    I have a question. My apartment parking garage is dusty as in after washing, 4-5 hours later a light film of dust can be seen on the front windshield, rear glass, hood and roof. Because of that I plan to have my car polished by a third party (tell them not to put any wax or coatings), drive home, wash, dry, use panel prep and ceramic coat. My question is, 1) Is this a viable approach? 2) Can I and should I apply diy detail ceramic coating in my apartment parking despite it being dusty? (As dust will quickly settle on the car)

    When it comes to the ceramic coating, or I guess coatings in general, does it make a difference if it’s applied in a controlled environment and is allowed to sit longer before levelling, compared to in sun light when levelling needs to happen quicker? Will the product bond better in one environment compared to another? Or is the environment just dictating how fast the solvent evaporates?

      In the first 30 seconds that’s covered. About 3 years. Could be more. Could be less. All depends on how a vehicle is maintained! And that all coatings.

      Eddie, like Josh mentioned, durability is very dependent on preparation and how it’s maintained. 3 years though is a good basic target.
