DreamWorks has truly not forgotten about making a great spin-off film to Shrek, all of us agree that "Puss In Boots: The Last Wish" has delivered an great sequel.
Man if Puss n Boots 2 wins the best animated picture Oscar, Pixar will be humiliated
It is a great movie! I hope it win the Oscar!
I love puss in boots
I hope there’s third to wrap up his story with kitty. Happily ever after

I’m sure no one was expecting this film to be this amazing.
I gotta see that movie. Everyone is loving it.
It was literally 10/10
I was expecting it to be a 6.5/10 until it subverted my expectations to another new level
@@randomeggthatworksforthefb7172 Definitely one of my favorite films of last year.
I was
Puss in Boots the Last Wish is the Sequel we didn’t know we NEEDED. Dreamworks is showing us that they are still committed to timeless animation
I absolutely lost hope on this sequel because it had been passed to many different writers and directors for 11 years and having seen it, I was shocked to see how great it was and surprisingly better than the original. A masterpiece
I just want this movie to reach everyone and gain more attention because it is SO good! This is one of those movies that deserve to be appreciated.
Even as a massive Disney fan, this movie is truly one of the greatest animated films of all time 👏
I couldn’t agree more!
I'm fan of both animation studios
@@HectorGarcia-xj8hp me too
there's no competition, I love DreamWorks as I love Disney
I love Perrito as a character. He is cute and heartwarming.
I loved him too!
@@Showtunediva What do you love more about Perrito?
Perrito could've been this annoying comic relief character like Olaf that but turned out he was way better than I expected, better than Olaf
@@15Candles Yeah it makes me wish he excited in real life. Wouldn’t that be awesome?
@@sergioandrescontreras5251 I have a key chain of him that I bought at Universal Studios so that was nice. It was a great timing to go to Universal Studios while Puss In Boots is playing
I just love the Ethical Bug, and the Wolf is my new favorite DreamWorks villain
He's actually named Death.
@@joshuaball5916 yea that's called a huge spoiler.
@@spectreshadow then again you wouldn’t watch this video if you weren’t expecting spoilers let alone the comments
That's good words. But anyway, do you think that antagonists will dissapear in Animated movies for Children in future?
@@kacmac2340 Yes
I love how Dreamworks imagined Puss in Boots - as a cat version of Zorro. Of course, that's part of the joke, as Antonio Banderas also played Zorro in film. Regardless, Puss in Boots 2 was hilarious. My wife and I were laughing the entire time!
I love how this movie got the recognition it deserves.
"It's a sequel that keeps you coming back"
Yes, and I'm addicted. I'm counting 17 times already!
Holy shiii
OK I've seen it a lot but SEVENTEEN WTF
This deserves an Oscar and DreamWorks most intimidating villain
Pitch Black ?
Dreamworks really does make the best sequels. The future of animation looks bright.
This (or Pinocchio) deserves the Best Animated Feature award.
This is why i still say that the sequel is way better than the first one, sure the first one was a good origin story for Puss but "The Last Wish" had things like more interesting characters and villains and not to mention amazing animation!
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say this movie surpasses Shrek 2 in every way. Last Wish is the best Shrek-related film.
I was very surprised when the Puss In Boots movie got a sequel, I loved the whole movie
This movie inspires me to live life to the fullest. It’s just like what Sonic and The Black Knight taught me years ago.
I'm 100% percent sure this film will win an Oscar!
I sure hope so !!!
Same here. I'm gonna be very disappointed if it doesn't.
Del Toro pinoccio will rival it
@@austincarlson9270 Like hell, it will!
I knew The Last Wish had a similar feel to watching an anime. The stripes you'll see on the side of the screen during running fast is your typical anime running style. Plus it's almost a stop motion style which is very cool.
We all know how Dreamworks almost always make great sequels and they did it again when no one expected it
I had no idea that this movie was even in the works until after I saw the first trailer. At first, I thought that Puss in Boots, the last wish, was not going to work out for me bc of the trailers that I watched. But when I finally did got to go see the movie with my brothers, we were all surprised at how great it turned upon our first viewing.
Me too!
The opening scene of The Last Wish of the Wishing Star and the Dark Forest looks a little bit like live-action.
Who gets goosebumps by Puss's narration?
I want a third movie. One last puss and kitty and perrito adventure before retirement
Not only do I call this my new favorite movie in the Shrek franchise, but not just one of my favorite films of 2022, but one of my favorite animated films ever!
there are so many cute details like how the unicorns pulling the charriot are missing their horns cause those are crossbow ammo, how the wand is from shrek 2, how death puts coins on his eyes to pay for the ferryman when he gestures i see you, it's just incredible.
This movie deserves an oscar.
5:40 Florence Pugh as Goldilocks was definitely my favorite character in Puss In Boots The Last Wish besides Puss & Perrito.
Hello dear friend, I pray you are having a great day over there...
DreamWorks surpasses all expectations when it comes to sequels (Shreck2, Kung Fu Panda 2, Puss in boots 2)
What about How to train your Dragon 2
@@pikachuscoobydoo9507 and prince of Egypt
Except boss baby 2
Except shrek 3
The Wolf aka Death is honestly my favorite character in the movie.
One of the reasons it’s such a great movie is because how they brought all the types of villains we likes into our three main Antagonists:
Spoilers
Death, Goldie and Big Jack Horner.
Death- Intimidating and A force of Nature:
He is the only villain not only in this movie but the entire franchise to scare puss.
Also he is a force of nature as he not only represents death but is The living embodiment of death, reminding puss that he isn’t immortal. That he one day will die. And the chase between puss and death is like Us humans trying to escape death.
Goldie-Sympathetic Villain
Out of all the characters who want the wish, she has the most sympathetic reason: she wanted to bring her death parents back. But as the movie goes on she Learns to accept the family she has and gives up on the wish star.
Jack Horner- Funny and Pure evil villains
Out of all the villains in the movie Big Jack Horner is just straight up evil in a great way. He just wants the wish star to control all the magic in the world and nothing more. It’s simple, but done in a way that’s perfect. He also is out of all the villains the most funniest and still a big threat.
I totally agree, but one thing I feel most people miss is how jack horner is the embodiment of corporate greed and is pure evil not for the sake of it but because nothing can ever satisfy it. The constant need/want for more and more
@@cr77usher It represents not just corporate greed, but greed in general. it also represents selfishness, and that is present at all levels of society, not just corporations. And no one is free from that sin, everyone, no matter who they are, can see themselves reflected in Jack Horner. Who is free from sin? anyone intellectually honest should be able to admit that they have sinned even once in their lives. We have all sinned at times for being arrogant, gluttonous, for having been selfish, lustful, for having felt anger, greed or envy... people who see jack horner as only the representation of corporatism need to buy a mirror and see their own reflection and meditate harder, and practice more self-criticism.
Catwoman (2004): Shame...
Puss in Boots (2011): Redeem!
Cats (2019): NO!!!!!!!!!
The Last Wish (2022): Justice!
The only funny thing about Catwoman is the villain death where she turns into a stunt dummy falling from a building.
@@rommix0 Storm from X-Men could have done better
I know how villains can be in movies and TV shows but not if they have a recognizable voice. Jack Horner is not only a good villain but he’s voiced by John Mulaney, who voiced Andrew in Big Mouth. Voiced a kid who has problems with his dad and into gross stuff until he voiced a nursery rhyme villain that has a collection of fairy tale stuff to use as weapons
I knew since I saw the trailer, I was going to see a really great movie. But I didn't expect the movie to be so awesome! There were too many "WHOA!" moments inside the cinema, many reminiscent of those reaction videos about Marvel movies (everybody screaming, laughing, and just not believing what they're watching). It was a great moment.
Also, the fact that in the next room was Avatar 2 playing and people said it wasn't that good was a shocker. And now, Puss in Boots has an Oscar nomination? We just witnessed a masterpiece!
I hope to see the reunion of Puss with Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey, with Kitty and Perrito meeting them for the first time
I would also LOVE to see Goldilocks and the Three Bears Crime Family get a movie of their own, whether it's a prequel, detailing how they became a family together, or a sequel, showing what Goldi, Papa, Mama, and Baby Bear did after this film
I would also be awesome to include Death again in some capacity becuz he was absolutely first among my top three favorite characters in this film, ahead of Baby Bear and Perrito.
Perhaps... if Puss in Boots was to have another film, it could end with an epilogue of Puss, old and on his death bed, being visited by Death, and Puss confirms he lived his life well, as Death bade him to, ending the legend in a way that is meaningful and brings it all to a satisfying close, with Puss dying with a smile on his face
This film has no right to be this awesome
Jokes aside, "Big" Jack Horner is considered to be the most evil villain in the Shrek franchise.
The newest addition to the greatest animated movie villains list!
Personally I would get to upset if the last wish won’t win an Oscar I mean Guillermo del toro’s Pinocchio was amazing but puss in boots:the last wish was beyond perfection and if Oscar for best voice actor/actress in a leading role or a supporting existed I would definitely give the best voice actor in a supporting role to Wagner Moura even though his screen time was limited he made every second where he appeared worth it.
I would SO be behind the Oscars 100% if they introduced an entirely new category: Best Animated Voice in A Leading Role.
Voice actors usually give off range and emotion into the characters they voice onscreen. Makes it so believable and just as real as their live-action counterparts.
Disney and Pixar could learn alot from Dreamworks because this sequel was perfectly executed, especially loved all the references to Shrek
This was my favorite movie of the year!!
Amazing! So happy to know I'm not the only one who absolutely loved this movie! It was sweet with SO many funny moments.
This movie is absolutely perfect
Even for someone who was looking forward to this film as I felt the first was a bit underrated, I was not expecting it to be THIS good!
I feared that the movie whould be just another “movie that exist” type of movie. Now after hearing the reviews of this movie, I am more than wanting to watch this movie with my family this week.
It is absolutely worth it. Have fun. :)
Did you watch it?
@@glewglew9852 Yes and I absolutely loved it.
I really want to see dreamworks make a spinoff of king julian, guy, donkey and the furious five.
Puss in boots always got a place in my heart love the 3D animation is different and awesome 😎
PLEASE win at the Oscars 🤞🏆
sigh. About that.
But let’s be honest. Pinocchio definitely deserved an Oscar as well.
@@aqua2poweros699 true but this was a cat movie for God sake 😂😂😂
I had my expectations low because when they make sequels that are years after the first one they're always bad but this one exceeded my expectations!
Top gun Maverick
blade runner 2049
I love how that movie makes fun of villain tropes. We are taught in modern films that there is good in everyone. Almost all of the characters are villains and are redeemable. But with Jimmony cricket learning that Jack Horner cannot be redeemed no matter how he tries to convince him, it makes that movie so hilarious showing that not everyone can be redeemed and need to be rid of this world.
And that's why I adore Puss in Boots 2. It was better than i expected.
Imo, Puss in Boots the last wish has brought new life to the Shrek series. I think really, the series needed a break cause there was too much supply but not enough demand. Now though, the time does feel right to bring the orge and his friends back after one of them provided in my opinion, one of the greatest animated movies of all time
This movie goes hard, and it had no right doing that.
Probably one of the new classic animated movies to ever come out.
I'm hyped for Shrek 5.
Dreamworks has been kicking it recently and I am a huge fan and I love them over Disney 💯🤷♀️
I knew when Joel Crawford (the director of The Croods: A New Age) would direct the film I knew this film would be good but when I saw was the beginning scene when Puss In Boots sings “Fearless Hero” I knew it would be great
My husband and I love puss and boots it had a great story line
Hello dear friend, I pray you are having a great day over there....
This and Lego Movie are the movies that i loved ever since the trailer released while the people have a mid reaction until they watched the movie.
Kid Danger: *wearing his big trucker pup outfit and has stars in his eyes* i LOVE this "Puss in boots" movie!
The climactic showdown between Puss and Death was a chef’s kiss. This is a film that is done….. just right.
Fun Wolf facts *SPOILERS:*
1. the whistle of death is 8 measures/beats long all movie long except for the final fight where it was 9 measures long when he lights up the fire, symbolizing that this is the last fight
2. The whistle of death is played EXACTLY 9 times during the movie
2x during the bar scene
1x during the jack horner chase
1x during the cliff fight
1x during the cave of lost souls
3x during the final fight (when death enters, when he lights the fire and when he leaves)
3. The last time deaths whistle is heard it's not finished, only the first part because death didn't take puss life. It being unfinished is also a nod that death will finish it when they meet again "hasta la muerte!" (Until death)
4. In the fight with the giant the bell rings 7x during the fight, and 1 more time when it kills puss, taking his 8th life
5. During the bar scene there are 8 empty cups and 1 filled cup which puss is holding symbolizing his last life. Also the candle goes out just before death appears, a callout to the doctor using the candle to show puss died
6. During the jack horner scene death puts two golden coins in his eyes which is a old Egyptian tradition
7. Death can be seen during the death montage in the corner of the cards
8. Death is also seen in the crowds during the giant fight
9. During the cliff fight where puss gets a panic attack, death is standing in a rock that resembles a skull
*Fun fact:* the VA for death is Brazillian but wasn't used in the brazillian dub 🤦. Also there are 9 movie facts here which is more symbolism for puss' lives
This movie was a *MASTERPIECE*
Watched it 3 times already and everytime I watch i see new things
None of us asked for this movie , none of us had any expectations of it.
None of us had any idea that our minds would blow when we walked in the theater with our kids.
Definitely the BEST movie I've seen in a long time.
Also Jack Horner ended up being my fav.
I love this movie sm! Honestly what really did it for me was the animation. Kitty especially looks heeps better to me. I get she doesnt look as feminine but thats what made the design good. She was animated overly feminine in the first movie. But yeah everything about this movies is a 10/10
DreamWorks Animation has owned Disney in 2022! I feel the studio has finally turned around with Bad Guys and the Puss n Boots sequel doing a lot better than Disney and Pixar!
Oh my gosh Puss In Boots is so sweet to Kitty Softpaws e.g.

By it's nature, this movie did Not have to go THAT Hard......But I'm sure glad it did, and then some! 🤩❤️🔥
This movie is so good… The best of The year
This film is the best example of everything that could go wrong, done RIGHT
259: DreamWorks has come from 1998 to 2022. They do amazing but like Disney, some are not mentioned that much
If I were Disney, I would learn something from this film.
I know SHREK THE THIRD is everyone's least-favorite SHREK movie, but it's not that bad and honestly, SHREK FOREVER AFTER is severely underrated. It was a great ending to Shrek's story!
I love Shrek the third. And I absolutely love part 4 as well. And I loved Puss in Boots with all my heart. What a great movie!
I mean if someone told me back then that Puss in Boots would get a sequel a decade later and it'd be one of the best animated movies I've ever seen then I probably would've laughed in their face.
8:28
I was *DY-ING* in the theater
yes yes yes yes yes! This movie deserves all the hype and it's a masterpiece in the history of animation!
(7:50) It's funny. Arthur transformed from being a moody, rebellious young man to a moody troll named Branch.
(8:29) The audience at my local auditorium had an uproarious laugh out of that entire Perrito scene. Damn. He's got quite an extensive, filthy vocabulary. 😆😆🤣🤣
Watching this video in 4k is very nice, thank you 👌
Dreamworks and by extension universal seems to be the only studios that are being respectful of animation
I just LOVE to always make sure to say how PROUD I'm for being brazilian after this amazing Wagner Moura voice acting
I sorry but "help I have been kidnapped by a monster trying to relate to me" still makes me laugh
I saw both Avatar and Puss in Boots, and I preferred Puss more. I loved everything about it❤
Just saw this movie in theaters on Monday!
So this video literally came out perfect timing!
I LOVED IT! :)
When I first saw the trailer I always saw it going in all kinds of ways.
Will it fail? Will it be a surprise hit? Will it just be average?
Either way I wanted to see it because I love the Shrek franchise and it would be nice to see Puss in Boots and the franchise again but I was ready to honestly skip it out in theaters if I couldn't reach it.
Yet my boyfriend, Ryan, saw the movie and told me to go see it and everyone praised it nonstop on the internet.
So glad that I saw it because it is my second favorite movie of the year and my favorite animated movie of the year.
My first is Sonic Movie 2.
I'm Sonic the Hedgehog's number one fan so his movie was destined to be number one no matter what! XD EEP! :)
So obsessed with the song, Fearless Hero, so epic! EEP! :)
For me Shrek 2 is better than Shrek , Puss' sequel is also better than the first movie
And Last Wish is better than Shrek 2.
Puss in Boots proved to be the most impressionable installment in the Shrek film series. It may have been a spin-off film, but what made The Last Wish stand out the most other than retaining its humor and charm like before. It had mature and sensitive themes revolving around mortality.
On a side note, since Big Jack Horner is voiced by John Mulaney. Doesn't matter what voice role he takes. He's still Spider-Ham to me.
Now we need a Donkey movie
shrek is life shrek is love.
i love that cat
I was in 2nd Grade when the first one came out and I graduated high school when The Last Wish came out.
Death as wagner moura a brazilian is just perfection
This movie will inspire copycats…. Pun intended. It was so good.. I’m here for it.
The wolf is very scary. But very well done
Ooh, I think this is the first time I've heard a narrator on CZcams pronounce "Akira" correctly!
I always remember Puss in Boots coming out as an Alien from Shrek's chest
260: I was amazed by this movie. Love it!!!!!!
Thank For The Video 🥰😃
Well you know what they say, you can't bake a pie without losing a dozen men
Yes I absolutely loved it I just wish the audio description headphones worked I didn’t have time to go to the next showing
So we just stayed I tried my best trying see what I could see
Can’t wait for this thing to be on Netflix soon
the Wolf is scary
Saw this in the theater.......and then almost immediately bought it on Amazon prime video because I loved it so much
I deadass thought that death was disguised as perrito and would reveal himself at some point
Did anyone else lose it with the flower reference at 02:13?😂
