It was sold wrong, the promos looked like it was going to be a goofy comedy, with that clip when he says to her "you have to sing in a volume that not only dogs can hear", instead of a charming rom com. I love the movie and I have seen it like five times, and I can't avoid a teary eye during the "don't write me off, just yet" song/scene.

It's 2024 and am still watching the movie. it's a feel good rom com. We need this kind of movie, no toxicity. I hope they can do a movie again together
I watched again the other day as well. I go back to that movie at least a couple times a year. It never fails to warm my heart. Their chemistry was terrific, the story was sweet and cute, and of course, the songs didn't hurt either. Love this interview/reunion!
This is the most important movie I've ever seen. My wife and I had our first date watching this movie. Fifteen years later (and almost thirteen years of marriage), it was (and still is) one of the only movies we both like. We watch it annually on our first-date anniversary. Still a whole bunch of fun.
I love that he spoke openly (not that he has to though) about the Devine Brown incident but also spoke of all that surrounded him following that. Completely insane media attention.
And I'm glad he got to have some support from her, it's really great what she did; because when you feel surrounded by negativity, that one support makes all the difference.
Hugh is an honest guy. Always direct.

I think Drew is the best person for interviewing actors, actresses, and industry professionals. She asks the right questions to them and lets people have time to answer. And the most impressive strength is that because of her rich career, she can share sweet memories with the interviewee to us.
He mentioned on Graham Norton that she hated him but that must’ve been part of his wicked humor

Could she be any more adorable? It is so refreshing to see a woman, who grew up in that tough industry, had some hiccups, and came out better than ever. Her authenticity has made me a life-long fan and I'll be rooting for Drew all the way, forever! Just charming and down-to-earth. They couldn't have picked a better A-lister to give a show. Way to go, Drew!!

When my dad was still working in film, he worked with a gazillion top stars, but his absolute favorite people were, Sissy Spacek, Sir Richard Attenborough and Drew Barrimore.
Hugh grant has grown into such a brilliant actor. he started off in foppish pretty boy roles & RomComs which didnt really give him much to work with. But I think he shoulda got an oscar for Paddington 2(rotten tomatoes best reviewed film of all time at 100% it just overtook Citizen kane). He is also incerdible in The Undoing where he totally outshines Nicole kidman & has won major awards like golden globe & critics choice this past year.
yes, his brilliant turn started with florence foster jenkins wtih Meryl streep, also Very English Scandal he was just brilliant...and he had great intellectual chemistry with Meryl Streep you can see that in their interviews...

Music and Lyrics is one of the best comedies of all time. I'll stand by that! I must have watched it about 10 times. Never gets boring. Everything about it is perfect. Perfectly funny, perfectly moving. And in the end it really is about music and lyrics, and not just about romance. That's what I love most about the movie.

That's my favourite of either of their movies, and I think it's for the exact reasons they mentioned. They're such an unexpected pairing, which made it so watchable. Plus I love that song they sing!! I have this movie on DVD, and have watched it so many times. Everything about it is great, from the "Pop! Goes My Heart" music video at the start, to Kristen Johnston as Drew's hysterical sister. What was your favorite scene to film, and why?
Not necessarily my favorite scene, but I like the scene where Cora was listening to their demo of "Way Back Into Love" at the heliport, and then reacting so graciously. The buildup to that scene was nice too, with Sophie and Alex rushing to catch a cab to meet Cora.
my fav scene is the opening but i do love the movie from start to finish. i love drew barrymore and Music and lyrics helped me in becoming a singer/songwriter. but i listen to the soundtrack on the daily. this is my fav movie.

He perfectly channeled 80s British Invasion bands with “Meaningless Kiss,” a loving tribute to Wham! and Duran Duran.
Definitely! I loved how each song invoked multiple 80s bands. The soundtrack is so clever while not taking itself seriously, whether it was Pop songs or Cora's songs. A very underrated gem all round
