- Easily one of the best games I've ever played, and I wasn't even done with it when I decided that. Id recommend this game to anyone who wants just an enjoyable experience.

Okay this is ridiculous. I was absolute shit at the game when I first played through it and there was no boss that I beat first try, except some that barely count as bosses.
Yet here I am, like 4 years later, having played Sekiro which is considered one of if not the hardest souls game, and I flew through it. Major bosses took me less than 5 attempts and the final boss 15 (some people say it took them months to beat it but I don't believe that honestly). I won't be this terrible at Silksong tho, quite the opposite 😈

Back seaters exist unfortunately, but I did interpret most things first and then my chat confirmed which of my theory's were correct.
The best part of newcommers on hollow knight and see the statue and say "Ohh, I'm not the hollow knight"

Him saying the Ancient Basin is "the deepest of the deep, I assume" is way funnier to me than it should be (if you go back down there with later abilities, you can go WAY deeper, and there are other endings you can get from it, etc.).
Mantis lords are the second best fight in the game, due to sheer simplicity of their moveset, and how well they complement eachother

this exactly! I loved his ultrakill play-through for this as well, only person I've seen stream these games and notice all the details/lore and quickly adapt to how they play mechanically

Man, everytime I watch someone play this game or play it again by myself I get reminded how good this game is at making the player feel things, through the music, through the environment, through the characters, through the fights, everything in this game just makes you feel and oh god, no matter how much time I play it, no matter how many times I watch someone play it I always get reminded.
This game has taken over my life and it can very well stay like that.
i loved watching this live and it was very fun to do inside jokes in the chat. also one cool thing about the hollow knight boss is that at 46:35 you can see a flash that looks exactly like the radiance.

Team Cherry did their big one having Hollow Knight turn his blade on himself mid-fight. The music switching up too. I'll never forget that moment, it had such a profound effect on me. I think you'd be delighted by playing more and uncovering more areas, abilities secrets and story!
It’s crazy on how he didn’t even collect shade cloak or any of the upgraded spells. It goes to show how many different ways there are to beating this game. I’m amazed

I didn’t know there were several endings to the game, so I got the final ending straight away due to my adventurers spirit. You somehow perfectly explored as little as possible for the first ending.
i love so much how you noticed that the hollow knight started only using infected moves instead of his nail, he started stabbing himself and the more you kept going, he now fully used infected attacks only meaning its not his doing. This is one of the many reason why hollow knight is one of the best games ever

What a fun Hollow Knight video! I too had to stay away from the game and any media because I was working on a project designing bugs as DnD classes and I didn't want to have any design influence from Hollow Knight.

Honestly this is really inspiring. This is the kind of pacing I should be using in my videos too. People don't watch full fledged playthroughs nowadays. Attention spans are too low. People only want to see the highlights. (Or they want to watch every single moment in a livestream. I really don't understand those people)

Hollow Knight is one of those special games that every time I play it I discover something new.
i stopped at final boss when you reach it becuase i didn't finish the game yet, gotta say watching you fighting them and everything was super fun i enjoy the video!

The first time I beat it, I only kind of noticed because I was bad at the game, but the second time, I had more lore and skill and could concentrate on the music and such, and I've never some closer to crying at a boss fight

I like the think that the Hollow Knight stabs himself in phase 2 in an attempt to help you beat him. Because you aren’t technically fighting the hollow knight, you’re fighting the infection that took him as a vessel.
There’s another ending where you actually fight the infection itself in his dreams if you go through the trouble to get the awakened dream nail.
I still haven’t beaten that final boss. She is difficult, even with my max nail, shadow abilities, 6 masks, and 3 soul vessels.
Might be a skill issue.
There is a lot of lore in this game, and I love it.

There is a lot of sibilance (the high pitched hissing sound when you say the sss sound) coming through on the mic. Maybe something to look into for future videos? I think it happens when you are speaking directly into the mic, but I'm no expert on audio so take that with a decent pinch of salt.

You may be new to this game but your gamer sense is strong (sorry for sounding like yoda) and you see common patterns that most normal people don’t see. Makes it much easier for you, but for us it seems less like a brand new blindfold gameplay
I bought this game knowing almost nothing about it and it very very quickly became my favorite game of all time! I have played through it countless times and it never gets old! I still haven't beaten all of the pantheons in Godhome yet though. It's so grueling.

I'd highly recommend getting the true ending and doing the Grimm Troupe. If your boss death count is honest, then you'll have a blast doing that content. Start by just continuing to explore and do stuff. You have already gotten some of the stuff needed to unlock the endgame content. If that isn't enough, then you go do pantheon, which are a ton of boss fights back to back, getting harder and harder.

I can see why you might not have enjoyed the game the first time around; You really like to explore in your own way and at your own pace, so some of the intuitive signposting might not work for you. Like, I've never seen anyone get to Gruzmother so late in the game 😂 Not that it really matters, the whole point of Metroidvanias is to explore in your own way. Glad you decided to go back and give it another shot!

At best, it's just there to tickle the player's interest, but otherwise, if it was cut out... nothing would change.
That's how little impact it has in the story. They appear simply because the knight picks up a cloak, they knock the knight out for 0.2 nanoseconds, and then we never see them again until we find their statues.
... Why? For what? If they could do that anywhere, they could have removed the knight long ago.
Narratively, the scene is just confusing and unnecessary.

honestly for me in my first playthrough i onmy started liking the game after i got the mantis claw/wall jump and started absolutely loving it shortly after, around the soul sanctuary
dude this game is so fucking good
if you dont like it but are still willing to give it a shot i recommend trying it out until you get enough movement mechanics to explore as you want + trying to find as many things as you can, i swear this game is full of content in every corner
fr i disliked the first 2-3 hours enough to quit and had to do it over again twice more for me to finally convince myself that there was a reason why most people loved the game

The Hollow Knight is actually missing an arm. Specifically the side that he sprays out that infected goop from in that one attack.
