    This gun is a reloaders dream. I have shot one inch groups at 200 yards using a super 14 in 7mm Int-R cal.

    I agree they are great guns. I shot 20" steel target at 408 yds. with my t/c chambered in .223. My buddy was shooting the same target with a 30.06 remington. Got a lot of at a boys for that one. Just a note, mine had a 14" barrel and 2-6 power burris scope. I commented on another youtuber who shot a steel zombie target at 500 yds. with a 30.30 barrel. I also shot my .22lr super 16 t/c out to 200 yds. I got a kick out of your dogs getting in your face! I leave mine at home when I shoot 'cause he just wants to much attention. Keep up the good work...🙂

      Can you tell us what twist the 223 barrel has , a buddy of mine has one but said the bullet would keyhole at 200yds .

    Someday I will get a 22LR or 22 WMR Super 14" for my Contender. I have the 44 Rem Mag and 30-30 Winchester Super 14" barrels both with Leupold M8, 2X20 scopes. I had a Contender Armor Alloy II in 223 about 30 years ago that I seriously regret trading.

      The AA guns were sharp looking guns, the only problem was the barrels didn’t fit on other frames.

    I had one in 7 tcu,30/30,357,223 with a 22 adaptor, and a 44 mag bore to take 444,you can turn the hammer for a safety also

    If you have any bad shooting habits the Contender will show you the error of your ways. Especially if you pull back the trigger while cocking the hammer. I've seen this happen on some videos and they call the gun unsafe, they need to look at their own bad habits first.

    • @myronman3
      @myronman3  Před rokem +2

      i haven't seen that particular mistake, but did see one where they had a ND because of improper handling-i made a video to address that issue in an effort to educate people. the Contender is a wonderful system.
      you are correct in that if you have a bad habit, or your marksmanship requires work...you will find that out very fast! stay safe out there!

  • @patrickmccutcheon4920

    I have a pistol like that except mine has the Armor Alloy Finish and an a Leupold 2x scope . It will put 5 shots in one ragged hole at 25 yards off sandbags . Shoots best with mini mag hollow points .

    It's clear people that call the Thompson Center Contender dangerous don't know what they are talking about. They should stick to flower arrangement.
    Thompson Center used to be a great company. Unfortunately Smith and Wesson bought them out a ruined the company brand.

      I absolutely hate smith and wesson for buying thompson out and then letting it die. What a disrespectful thing to do to a great company and its customers.

    Dude, That was a good video, I could hear You & When You Hit The Target & The .223 case,...Man, That's my "Dream-Gun",...First I have to look at my back-pocket,...Ohh But I also have a weiner-dog just like yours. I tried to buy one but, the local salesgun said Thompson Center sold their company to Smith & Wesson, then I look when I went home and I don't see it no where on the Smith & Wesson Website. One Day I Will Get THE CONTENDER !! d((👁👄👁))b👍= 💎💎💎

      as of now, the only way to get them is the used gun market. i hear that one of the custom shops is working on a run of frames

    What rail are you using for your scope base?

    • @myronman3
      @myronman3  Před rokem

      I can not remember to a certainty, but if i had to guess, it is probably an aluminum weaver mount.

    • @kenore4003
      @kenore4003 Před rokem

      @@myronman3 I had an alunimum rail on a .357 Herrett briefly. After about 5 rounds the scope mounts rode up out of the cross rails and blew out the scope. That round has a stout recoil. The Hornaday manual says the best accuracy comes at near max loads with 180 or 200 grain bullets.

    • @myronman3
      @myronman3  Před rokem

      @@kenore4003 the worst one i ever shot was a 35 remington 14 inch barrel. it was brutal with the factory rynite grips. worse than the 454 casull revolver i had.
