This could just be a medical issue not so much her diet. We don't know what she's eating. I know someone that has a healthy diet but gains so much weight every year. They also live such a healthy active life. At this point their basically scared of eating anything because they don't want to put anymore weight on. But the weight just keeps coming on. It's sad. Their parents are heartbroken and feel useless. And when people blame them they feel even worst. So please don't just assume what's happening. And don't assume whose "fault" this is. :)

I was obese myself when I was 9 weighing at least 150-160 Lbs which is alot for a child. Both of my parents were over weight and yet somehow it was always my fault for having the body I carried. I got bullied, got called names, didn't have any friends, hell I remember the countless nights i would just cry myself to sleep because of how fat i was and to top it off my parents were disgusted by my weight and it was a subject that would always be spoken about at any gathering. I was a child and i did not know better. I did not know what healthy was I just knew that if my parents took away my chocolate I would get mad because it wasn't fair. I can't go back time but i will MAKE SURE i watch my kids weight and never let them go thru the poor choices my parents made. They fucked up.

As somebody on a weightloss journey (I’ve lost 47lbs in 8 weeks and still at it). I was still obese as a child and it wasn’t my mums fault. She couldn’t stop me from eating. I’d get up in the night and just eat and eat and eat whilst she was sleeping. It is an eating disorder called BED’s. Under all that there was deeper and emotional scars that caused me to comfort eat & the constant bullying meant I started to stay in on my computer and guess what I would do? EAT. No doctor would sit and say I have Binge Eating Disorder until I was 19 (last year)
If anything my mum hid things so I couldn’t eat them but I’d still find a way to get the chocolate or crisps.
Her daughter needs counselling and a life coach, she’s too young to be in a mindset of losing a lot of weight, it’s hard work & can be an emotional rollercoaster!

The mother says in the beginning "She's always been healthy..". Gaining weight like that isn't being healthy, even if you might "feel" okay. It's not like a person is healthy and suddenly overweight and not healthy. Sure you can have a few kilos more or less and still count as healthy, but child obesity is not a child's fault. It's the parent's fault. It's their responsibility to make sure that their child gets the right kind of food, the right amount of exercise and so on. Come on parents! Take responsibility for your child's future.

My little Cousin is the exact same way. Literally. Her Parents have been told to cut her back on bad foods but it's like they don't really really care. She eats till she's sick, if we get to my Grandmas (she lives next door to our Grandma so she's there like everyday) and she cooked for us and she already ate not even 10 minutes ago she'll eat a full meal again, if there is only a little bit left she'll fight for it so no one can have it, if someone put something aside for later she'll eat it. It's horrible and I feel so bad for her because she does get picked on. She's also eleven and I'm 22 and she's already way bigger than me. She's in sports but some how manages to "get hurt" so she doesn't have to participate. It honestly hurts me so bad seeing her go on a downward spiral and her parents won't do much to help.

I think the natural body process is easier, but starting the weight loss might be harder. A child can't really buy their own food or feed themselves (I don't mean literally, but most children can't cook a healthy meal for themselves everyday), kids at school could put you down, and it's hard to keep that willpower without your parents or family support. If you have all of those though, losing weight would be a lot easier.

But the majority of my lunch that my mum made was chocolate. So I kept on eating to avoid trouble. And that's why now im overweight. All because my mum bought unhealthy foods, packed them for me and let me eat them and me not wanting to be shouted at (which I don't see as a bad thing) so if the weight gain starts when the parents still decide what they eat, then it is the parents fault coz no child wants to be shouted at.

Being 18 now I am more accepting of myself and am actively losing weight, but man, 11 years old...I have a 10 year old sister and it breaks my heart to think about her feeling self-conscious or insecure about herself. Gyms are expensive and you don’t need them to lose weight. If you run for 50 minutes 4x a week and take walks every now and again, as well as eat ~1950 calories, you should be 150 lbs by December if you’re a girl and 145 lbs if you’re a boy. You could also dance, play basketball, swim (while it’s still summer) or ride your bike with your friends. Once your mom knows how dedicated you are, then she may consider it. Good luck!

It depends on the parent. Some people cant say No to their daughter but want help. You do realize she cant help her and THATS WHY SHE ASKED FOR THEIR HELP. Also if you fucking watched the video you would know that she tried to help but the daughter got back into the habits. The mom also is fat so she has lots of food for her that the daughter can also eat.

If you're doing online school there's no need to worry, but for when you go back in person, you can look up ways to change that don't expose your body, like if you're a girl you can wear a skirt so you can just put on your gym shorts under the skirt and then take off the skirt without ever exposing anything. I'm not a boy so if you are idk how to help you

My heart breaks for her! I'm obese, now as an older adult, but had been thin as a child and a teen, and young adult. My grown kids are normal weight, my 22 yr old daughter is 116 lbs and 5'6", almost too skinny. They were raised like me and my husband were. Dinner meals at the table, with usually a meat and 1 vegetable and a starch or 2 vegetables. Ice tea, milk or water to drink. Occasional snacks and occasional fast food. I didn't severely restrict them, but we tried to have a balanced diet. We were raised with my mom trying to follow the food pyramid and we went outside to play. We stayed very slim. I also had my kids doing outside activities. My youngest daughter was in Gymnastics for several years, oldest two in swimming. You can't eat mainly fast food with no vegetables or balance in your diet. You must get involved in some physical activity. Hopefully she and her parents can get her on the right track, because I feel her sadness!! 😢

I’m 11 and I just wanted to say I come from a Hispanic family and if you are from one you should know how it is when you are even a little chubby at a young age. I was a really skinny kid but then I got chubby around 8-10 and my family called me “gorda” and that’s what I would go by. If they needed to call me they would say gorda. It wasn’t really offensive to me because I mean I knew it was true and it was just what they called everyone. They called my skinny brother flaco so j just learned to get over it. But as I got older I started to look at my body different and I didn’t like it. I noticed that I got my moms genes and she has an amazing body. I wondered why mine didn’t look like hers. I could notice the genes on my body but they were mostly covered up with the fact that I was fat. I got super insecure and started wearing hoodies everyday. Later on I developed an eating disorder. It wasn’t fun at all. I felt terrible, I never ate, and I never looked at myself. I was so disgusted I didn’t want to see what I looked like. My parents started to notice that I was getting thinner and my pants weren’t fitting. They praised me for it but didn’t know what I was actually going through. I started to work out a lot and try to make my body look perfect like my moms. I got to my goal but not in the way I wanted what so ever. I tried to off myself but it didn’t work and I was in a physic ward for months. When I got back they would make sure I wasn’t harming myself and make me eat at least one thing for every meal. Forcing was definitely not the way to go but it did help a bit. I’m still recovering a little im definitely not fully healed but it’s okay. So yeah my point is never shame others about what they look like or praise them for losing all their weight. Unless you know they worked hard for it and wanted to do it and actually wanted it don’t speak about it. I still have my ed it’s just not as bad as it was before. Some days I feel disgusted with myself but I remember my worth and so should you. I hope no one ever goes through what I went through. Thank you
