- I love this piece of music and I tried forever to get the proper version on CZcams, but I couldn't find it. So here it is, in all its glory. First heard in the episode "Within", photos are from "Per Manum". No copyright infringement intended, for entertainment purposes only. I do not own the pictures or song.
This song is always and always will be an emotional roller coaster
Scully walking down the hall to this at the FBI following Mulder's alien abduction still gives me chills to this day.
It's incredible really. The woman who spent so long looking for a logical explanation to the paranormal, now forced to realize that her partner was right all along. And he paid the price for it. She becomes the reluctant believer. Amazing television man.

Hi. Do you have a CZcams clip or link of this I can’t seem to find the episode on CZcams.
They needed to do more than just that scene. Her going from not a believer to nearly a complete believer so fast was jarring. Definitely should have at least had a scene in church where she talks about aliens and believing and etc.
23 years have gone by since the shows original release. Mark Snow was in his mid 40s back then. I hope we can enjoy his music. Those were great years for TV shows, XFiles, Millenium, Stargate, and so many more. Some of the best shows ever.
I really love how emotive this theme is, it really fits series 8 well, especially the episodes "Within" and "This is not Happening"!
+Robinson2511 Exactly. When I first heard it in "Within", it made me feel so sad and sorry for Scully, knowing that Mulder was gone and she was by herself.

This is the only piece of music that I have ever felt an emotion for. It's so sad. So so incredibly sad. Its loss and being lost. Being alone and suddenly small in a massive world. Its life standing still while the world just carries on. Its never seeing someone you care for ever again. It's "Why?" unanswered... It haunts me because its so familiar. Damn dude... DAMN 😔🖤. R.I.P
Am I the only one who really think that Mark have create a masterpiece specially with this one ? (even if he IS a great artist anyway) It perfectly fit with the emotion at this moment of the serie :
I mean, it makes me feel so " nostalgic " about everything Mulder and Scully pass trough, but also a part of me feel sorry that despite all sacrifices, truth is still hidden and will always be, no matter how hard they've fought, and how much they've lost... What's make it really sad! :)
It's a " no matter what you'll do, it'll be useless " song for me..

ugh, so much emotion! cannot count how many times this show has made me cry! this show really had everything... amazing story, amazing actors, amazing characters... too bad it all had to fall apart due to casting changes and too many "comedy" episodes

They should have stopped the show at the end of Season 8. It would have been perfect, beautiful and full of love. Season 9 was so disappointing except the 2 last episodes.
if they'd ended it after season 7 and not had the entire Mulder abduction thing it would've been a much better ending. I agree though, the last episode of season 9 was incredible. An episode like that would need to end the series for sure.
Yeah. Season 8 was really good, music was amazing, perfect scenes (like scully in the desert or Mulder Wake up in hospital) and ending was amazing ❤
It will be better for X Files if it end like this.

after the 1 minute mark, that portion is from a german song's intro. (song name: Rotlichtmilieu)
Haftbefhel's album was composed in 2010, Mark Snow wrote Scully's theme exactly twelve years prior to the band's album in 2000 having written it in 1998. So it's the other way around they clipped Mark's music.

Had to dig a bit, but this is the answer I was looking for, though still not sure I've located the correct Campbell. As nice as it is to know the composing artist is Mark Snow, the heart of the music is borne by the haunting vocals. Sounds like a cross between Lisa Gerrard & Loreena McKennitt.
