  • Boy, did summer go by fast! This will probably be my last video for a while. School starts back up for me tomorrow (Sept 4) and ill be less focused on trains. I hope you all had a good summer and good luck during the school year!
Every Year, Conway Scenic Railroad located in Conway, New Hampshire hosts a big event at the end of the summer. Railfan weekend is a time for people to ride the trains in the white mountains of New Hampshire and for railfans to migrate up to the mountains to not only see diesel but there famous ex-CN 0-6-0 #7470. This was the first time it ran in 4 years and the first time I saw it in person. For such a small locomotive she receives a lot of attention!
I stayed for 1 day (it was a blast) and met up with some really cool Instagram followers and friends! We start of the video by watching 7470 primed and ready, pulling her water tank out of the roundhouse. She then proceeds down the line towards Conway for the first 4 hours of the day.
I stayed at the North Conway station to watch the building of the valley train. The 2 EMD GP48 and GP50 locomotives were moved into position facing "Eastbound". An old B&M F7 with a very loud but amazing sounding Leslie horn. We then chase the valley train to Barlett and then wait for the "regular train?" at a scenic bridge just west of Barlett.
After that, we then moved back to North Conway and watched 7470 assemble her train. Then waited at a close-by crossing to watch her depart. We then chased her all the way to Barlett station and back to Intervale, NH where we lost her thanks to traffic.
