      McNabb had an excellent Offensive Line, well above average RBs, made Chad Lewis a Pro Bowl level TE, and good enough WRs. So it took not just a good WR, or excellent WR, or Pro Bowl WR, or All Pro WR, to get "over the hump". Nope it took a HALL OF FAME WR in Owens. McNabb had enough and "should have" gone to 3 SBs and won at least one. McNabb had a canon arm, but could not lead a WR to save his life. Actually threw for more yards in 2008 vs 2004.

GTFO with “McNabb didn’t give him the ball.” McNabb didn’t like TO’s shine and didn’t go to bat for him when TO wanted to renegotiate his contract. That perceived slight was what led to TO’s “we’d have won with Favre” interview, and things spiraled from there. Production had nothing to do with it, it was BOTH of their egos.

      @J Dolo You're wrong on a few things There was no beef between TO and McNabb that first season UNTIL after the superbowl where reports came out and TO threw shade at McNabb for choking and throwing up under pressure in the superbowl. TO started it by throwing his QB under the bus and saying "I did my job."
      Players and leaders of teams don't do that after a loss. You didn't see Cam Newton, Peyton, Julio and guys like that throw shade at their teammates for losing in the superbowl.
      Their beef kicked off when TO got mad at the eagles for extending Brian Westbrook's contract and not TO. TO wanted McNabb to back him and McNabb didn't. And why would he when he was thrown under the bus after they lost the superbowl?
      That's when all the bs started between the too.

    Fat Boy is buggin. “There’s no need for me to dust off anything from the past...” literally 7 seconds after dusting stuff off from the past. SmH.
    The REAL story is that Donovan wanted to be the King of Philly... but A.I. was King, Donovan got booed at the Draft, and got blamed for every big loss. He was a really good QB, but his work ethic was trash, and he shrunk in big moments. I’m FROM here, so I remember the entire Era. The fans never loved McNabb, but it was more about his personality than his ability. The greater Philadelphia Area is a gritty, blue collar place with big balls and an attitude. Donovan was known as a Company Man that would get along to go along and routinely side with management whether good or bad/ right or wrong. By the time T.O. got there, A.I. was on his way out of Philly, so the title of King of the City was up for grabs. And when T.O. arrived, he was IMMEDIATELY placed into the role of temporary King just based on reputation. Then the very first play of the very first Home Game (vs the Ravens in the Preseason), he solidified that spot as the reigning King of the City... and received all the love, adoration, and credit that McNabb pretended not to care about but desperately wanted. His thing was, he was winning the Division and going to the Conference Championship every year before Owens arrived, AND Owens’s success was a direct result of HIS work. Owens couldn’t catch passes and TDs without 5 throwing him the ball. So Owens AND the fans needed to acknowledge that in 5’s mind. And THAT’S the origin, foundation, and root of the problem. Envy. But what 5 didn’t understand was that Philly didn’t elevate or elect its Kings solely or even primarily because of anything on the field/court. Great play is essential, yes. But more important was that its King had to embody the attitude of the City. A.I. was a blue collar, underdog who was smaller than everyone but had no fear. And he was a rebel by nature who could not be controlled! By being true to himself no matter what, he actually changed the Game instead of letting the game change him. Same with T.O. He stayed true to himself despite opposition or being negatively portrayed. Donovan didn’t have that dog in him. He had more of a “Yessuh, Massa,” kinda thing happening. And he sided with Management over his comrades and even his own interests at times. Philly doesn’t respect booti-lickers... period. And that’s the real story. Donovan wanted the love from the most passionate fan base in sports but couldn’t have it... Then had to watch the guy he helped bring there get it INSTANTLY. And he’ll SAY that didn’t and doesn’t matter to him... and say it loudly. But you know what speaks even MORE loudly than that??? Actions. His actions spoke volumes. We all in resentment when we see it. And his attitude was, “Oh, so you not only get the love that I want and now not only want the money, but you actually want ME to speak up to help you get it?! Nah, I’m good. That’s not my business.”

  • @wadereed11
    @wadereed11 Před 2 lety +1

    McNabb could be petty but I honestly think he was underappreciated. Besides the short time with TO he never really had too many offensive weapons. His best receivers were running backs for majority of his career. The fact that philly seemed to hate him after all the playoff wins and seem to love Randell Cunningham who did diddly shit come playoff time is beyond me. The toxic fan base of Philadelphia is more to blame than anyone.

    Lord Zedd
    McNabb had the second most passing yards and Touchdowns by a QB in the Super Bowl behind only Kurt Warner to that point. Sure, he had a few bad throws as if often the case when you're coach calls for you to throw 59 passes, westbrook only had 47 rushing yards which I blame on Reid. Regardless mcnabb played on a broken ankle infact he disn't even leave the game when he broke it, as TO did. Was back 6 weeks later playing in the playoffs just like TO. I saw a comment say McNabb team mates didnt like that he quit in the Super Bowl lol. Who are those team mates. Dawkins? Westbrook? hell no, only jealous and broke clowns like Freddie Mitchell. Blame who you want but mcnabb took the eagles the NFC title game before and after TO was here, Reid suspended TO for being a dick thus ending his career as an Eagle, he didn't suspend Donovan but just TO. I trust Andy on this one, plus I'm not stupid I lived through this and TO was a whiney bitch everywhere he played. 3 straight championships before he tore our team apart, took a while for Don to bring us back after the damage TO caused but he did exactly that, even beating TO and the cowboys quite a few satisfying times in the process. Haha, the guy shit on our QB and got kicked off the team by our coach then signs with Dallas and some Eagles fans still like TO more than McNabb. Remember after we played Dalls TO wore a Michael Irvin jersey on the team bus? Go eat horse poop haters!
