"The Nolan Crossroad" represents the transition from "slavery-based agriculture" to the "sharecropping economy" of the post-Civil War. The Original Plantation House dates back to 1817. Thomas Nolan's grandson transitioned the extensive tenant farm, and constructed the main Neoclassical House, with its once, curved porch and the beautiful columns, in 1905.
