      I can understand that. The first time I saw one, at an exhibition, I couldn't go past it for about a quarter of an hour. It was so sexy that barely clothed young ladies would have been asked to move aside.
      Then there was one across the road, visiting his mother. Ooh.
      Later, when I was older, someone told me about the difficulty of servicing it. That was a disappointment.

    Marlo doesn't seem to be too helpful. Bernie has to do all of the heavy lifting. Marlo overfills the carburetor damper and backs in to an engine sitting on the floor. Yikes. I really can't see how 10K covers the cost of the "restoration". Either the mechanics work for peanuts or something is amiss. I pity the person who buys this car based upon the excellent paint job. There is a tremendous amount of work that still needs to be done, such as rebuilding the master and slave cylinders, replacing ball joints, tie rods, and bushings; changing all of the fluids, replacing the rear calipers, flushing the engine, changing the water hoses, etc. Using used parts for a restoration is mind-boggling. The most expensive XKE can be a fifty year old vehicle that has not been completely overhauled.

    @robertmaybeth3434 Před 2 lety +2

    Why oh WHY did they not jump on the very first E-type??? An E-type with a rust-free body is not to be taken for granted; in fact, it is the most important buying point. "It could be hiding lots of problems" while that is certainly no lie, it's also going to be true for every car they'll come across. When doing a resto on an E-type there are no bargains! When the choice is tidying up a basically sound chassis and changing a bunch of parts on car #1, Vs. doing all that PLUS rust repair, PLUS undoing the roof chop-job, I know what I'd choose. All the rest of it is just a pile of easily replaced parts. So why not eliminate a whole b unch of additional head-aches by spending the extra pounds on the first car? Its the chassis that needs to be rock-solid, and that was surely worth 14.500 pounds!

    Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
    from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
    Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by
    reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated
    central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down
    all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From
    2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as
    exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox
