As always on point and i really liked the way you bifurcated the 2 kind of SA which mostly people ignore !! Being the second kind from development it made me more affirmative. Thank you Raj ! And those who have not subscribed you are really missing some imp things in 2023. Do subscribe 🎉❤️
I am a Cloud Engineer, jobless right now. I am inclined towards Cloud computing domain... I am forced to learn DevOps... to get a new job... Please advise!!
I am experienced as a java developer but not in cloud tech. Recently done with assoc. architect certification and planning to do developer certification also. I am more looking at cloud engineer roles
Great choice Kumar! Get the dev cert and start applying. With your Java knowledge and aquired AWS knowledge, you will be able to get interviews for certain
Such a simple explanation, and to the point. Thanks Raj. This also helps someone who already has IT experience and trying to switch career to cloud computing
Hi Raj, can you please make a video on how do you prepare ppts with some sample architectures. it will help to understand the tools you use and how you go about it.
Bro, it's literally copy pasting in power point, there is no secret sauce there. Download free AWS icons from AWS website and just use those with arrows and what not.
Thanks Raj! I'm looking to jump into tech & I wasn't sure about DevOps or SA. As I prefer a more contract / freelancer approach, I believe DevOps is a better fit, what do you think?
Thank you, Raj, for making this video. It is helpful and gives an inside perspective that people generally don't talk about. I am going to start working on the hard skills that you talked about.
Hi Raj, how can a someone starting out as a DevOps Engineer gain these hard IT skills which can benefit them in their path of becoming an SA? Are you suggesting to gain these skills from projects you are currently working in and learn as projects change/progress OR is it a parallel path of self learning they can pursue?
Great question. If you already got into DevOps then you already have the advantage. Because as you spend more time in DevOps, you will learn scripting, SRE, administration and more. and in couple years you are out of "freshers/newcomer" bucket. If you want to switch to SA, you can move in your current company to get diverse experience (such as dev project) or keep going higher in DevOps (Sr/Principal DevOps Architect/Engineer).
Hello @cloudwithraj I have one question which is totally different from this topic please excuse me for this .My Question is suppose in our Grafana dashboard we are getting data for multiple days and we want to take average of all the days and convert into one graph and data source is Prometheus. will it be possible and please answer my question whatever idea you have on this.
Hi Raj, recently I did my AWS CCP and passed. I would like to be a DevOps engineer...at Associate level, which certs would you advise I pursue between SAA, DVA and Sysops
You can get the developer associate cert and apply for cloud engineer and cloud developer roles if you want to use your full stack knowledge. If you want to switch to devops then you need to learn DevOps (Check my DevOps roadmap video) and get devops cert. Question - do you enjoy development? If yes, why switch to DevOps?
@@cloudwithraj hi Raj.. actually i want to work in devops or moreover cloud specific so confused which specialized area to move. Yes I love development but my main focus to certification and hands on practice in cloud area then try to move that specific role
@@RakeshBitling Just get dev associate cert and apply for cloud developer jobs, if you enjoy development. Else you can learn DevOps and switch to that. But note that. SDEs get more money than strict cloud/infra/devops folks.
You need to obtain some other skills like DevOps concepts, Git/Github, Linux basics, or some coding. If you just doing practitoner and then looking for job it will be too much competition without any other skills

So basically starting with devops and having web development skills. Got it, thanks Raj.

For sure, because as a contractor you will be required to deliver time bound artifacts. DevOps will have way more opportunity there.
