At the age of 30, I had breast implants. 42 years later, I had them removed and replaced. My plastic surgeon said I set some kind of record. They were hard, calcified and unsightly. I am one week out from surgery. Sometimes doctors can move so quickly through appointments that they don’t share all the ways we can take better care of ourselves and achieve the best possible outcome. Your video was very helpful, providing very useful information. Thank you.
Where you able to breast feed your baby
@@chinemeogonwachukwu666 no problem breastfeeding.
this is important to share, how did you feel? Many have similar situation.
What brand implant did you have
You're 72? You must be awesome. I'm asking because I'm in my late 50's and want to get implants. You're giving me hope
OmgoshI'm glad you mentioned the every 10 year thing because that's what's stopped me from getting a lift with implants nobody wants to have surgery every 10 years!
I went in getting a breast augmentation with very little knowledge that I did have with implants.. everything he explained in this video was everything my surgeon done. She really is the best.
What's her name?
I am so glad I pressed on your video! I have my appointment set for breast augmentation next week. I checked the American Broad of Plastic Surgery and looked for the surgeon that was assigned to me. To my surprise his name didn’t appear. I called the American Broad and was informed that his license expired since 2016! And we are currently in 2023!
It's a quick easy check and can save you problems down the road. Glad to hear that it helped you.
This was BEYOND informative you are truly the most trusted plastic surgeon please don’t retire anytime soon I’m saving up for my breast augmentation too😍😍
So appreciative of you.! I hope I get to do my surgery with you one day.! You are the GOAT
I just had my augmentation and I wish I would have seen this before! I would have worried so much less! I love how direct the Dr is in this video. 2 weeks post op he’s on point with recovery.
Glad it was helpful!
I totally agree. Wish I would have seen this sooner.
I had my exchange done after 28 years of initial surgery. I had a baby 8 years after augmentation and my nipples went south with the tissue. It wasn’t awful looking but not where I wanted my nipples and the extra tissue from nursing made the tissue droop. I am one week out from exchange and I am so happy with the results. Went from saline to silicone and what a huge natural improvement. Good to know I can sleep on my tummy though it feels odd and I worry about pressure on the incision sight.
Thank you I love your videos. I had my surgery a little over a year ago and watch your videos before and still watch some of your videos ❤
Love love these videos ❤ i jus had a lift with implant surgery im 4 weeks out and im loving the info you share.
This was so helpful, you’re the best Doctor!! 🎉

Great video very informative as I am considering having the procedure myself
Very Informative video. Great
This really helped me pre and post op! Thanks for being candid.
Happy to help!
Super informative!!! Thank you! I learned so much!!
That's great. That is the whole reason for making these videos--education and to build understanding.
Very informative Dr. William I plan to have you perform my surgery in the near future. Thank you for sharing some of your knowledge with us it gives us peace of mind.

I love the way how you are talking. thanks a lot
Thank you the information is helpful.
Omg, I love thus Dr! He is so genuine, you can tell he cares about the well-being of others.
I'm scheduled to have BA on June 😢 I was not told to get a mammogram before surgery, but I will now since I'm 45.
Good!
I’m 41 and hadn’t had one yet so made sure to get in before surgery as well. Always good to make sure everything is copasetic before going in!
Good luck! 😊

These answers are so clear , thank you 🙏

Well said thank you
Great info! I had a breast lift and implants last December and I was doing body pump after 8 weeks and my left breast implant did not drop and had to have it replaced in September. My doctor said not to do any weights for 3 months.
Verry well said..
Thank you for your time sharing valuable information.
My pleasure!
The only thing I disagree with is about BII not being real.
While I don’t agree with the term that was coined, it absolutely is proven that there’s the potential for people’s bodies to react to any foreign object…from joint screws to dental fillings. It’s an autoimmune response that most people won’t experience but some WILL. So no, not an “illness” but still very real to the people that experience it.
It’s only a matter of time before everyone experiences breast, implant illness. Some people don’t even know they have it, so they chalk up their health issues to something else. Implants are not meant to be in the body and the body will keep attacking them. It’s science and this doctor is shady AF for not stating the truth
I was thinking the same thing
The autoimmune reactions r a humain natural reactions for all people, so its not called an autoimmune reaction in this case if some people dont react
@@miration13Yes. That’s why I said that there is a potential for it but most people won’t experience it. It’s only an autoimmune response if…people have it.
Thanks for the info! I'm having my BA in a couple of months. 😊
I love to watch Dr. Miami videos. He knows exactly what he is talking about. I'm going to him for my plastic surgery procedures.
I am not Dr. Miami but I hear he has good videos!! 😂 I am Dr. William.

You're so welcome! Thank you. I appreciate your comments.

Thank you Dr. William! I just scheduled my first Augmentation for end of Feb. with a Board Certified Surgeon. I am 58 and a 36C. She is recommended not doing a lift only augmentation going to a DD size cup! We want a Full High Profile Gel Cohesive Implants. I am also having a tummy tuck at the same time. Thank you for sharing this information that is so vital to understanding what is best.
My pleasure. Best of luck with your recovery. Keep us posted.
Thank you!
If I have a lollipop lift with implants, is there a higher chance of contamination and capsular contracture since the aerola is cut? Also would you recommend subfascial placement for a very active person? I do not want to go under the muscle. Thanks for an awesome video!
Great information. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for the amazing video I needed it 😊
You are so welcome!
Omg I'm scheduled for a small Ba ( naturally slim build and small B) and only a stomach sleeper for 20 years. I was freaking out over Never sleeping again. I have tried many times and failed to sleep on my back. If I fall asleep for a min I'll Jolt awake. This was quite reassuring. Unfortunately my surgeon installs drains which means no sleep for 2 weeks. But after that I'll go back to on my stomach.
Great video very informative thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you,this calmed my fears.
I think once most people get more information about a procedure they have a better understanding, better expectations and less anxiety. There is nothing more important than education.
I’m so glad I went to a professional and had my surgery at a hospital. I made a appointment with a Miami doctor they told me i could go any size I wanted without seeing me in person. My surgeon wouldn’t let me go as big as I wanted and I’m glad I chose her they look so natural and fit my size
Very few people can go as large as they want because there are limits as to what size implant will fit in the breast.
Im.not planning to do Breastsurgery. But like always very informative. keep the good work💯💯💯💯
Thank you doctor, such good information!
My pleasure!
Good stuff, Dr. William. Can you tell us the pros and cons of a BA via fast transfer?
I am not an expert on fat transfer to the breasts. I only use fat along WITH an implant. I think implants look much better than just fat grafting to the breasts alone.
Thank you Dr Williams I love your ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks a million
I saw this and sensed immediate relief when he got to #9. Everyone tells me I need to wait until im done having kids but I don’t want to wait 10+ years for that to happen
That's a common misconception.
Do you recommend doing more combo procedures or rather a person have one thing done at a time and let their body heal
Yes. I walked in like a hunchback robot. Glad the girl who did my post op let ne know to move my arms. Very grateful for you Dr. William.
Perfect explanation 💜🥰!! I need to contact to you for my next procedure because I have a 2question about my lipo and my BBL, my cirurgia experience with you change my life 💓😍I’m so happy !! Thank you so much for your perfect job!! 💙

On my second set of implants after 13 years. I had saline and one leaked out. I opted for the silicon "gummies" this time. I'm 1 week post surgery. Both of my incisions were periareola, neither Dr ever mentioned that being a bad idea. I stumbled across this while looking for message tips. I had some lipo in my fatty arm pit area and back and it's making message a little more difficult than last time. I agree about the silicon. I'm hoping to get more years out of this set and I know people that had theirs way longer than my 13 years.
Omg I am scheduled to have the periareolar incision too! Have u had any complications? Are you happy with your results? I thought this to be the best option where it'd leave less scarring or where you couldn't really see it. (I hope you reply)
@@mimiii444 hey there! I've had zero complications and I can hardly see where my incisions were. I was worried at first because the Dr I used this time put stitches in, whereas my Dr last time did not. But I'm all healed up and love my results! Good luck!
@@DavennaRettig that's awesome! Thank you for the reply ❤️
I am 2 weeks out from my first breast augmentation. First, I want to thank you so much for this video and the under vs over muscle video. My surgeon wasnt very informative before my surgery as she was after. I still feel as if she didnt gove as much information as you have through your videos and your site. I appreciate all I have read/seen. I do have a few questions....
1. Should/can I still use ice pack (received by hospital) at this point?
2. I was told not to reach or extend my arms above my head.....so it IS okay for me to reach forward, above (my head) and out to the sides? Typical range of motion?
3. I am returning to work at 4 weeks post operative, anything i should avoid or be cautious about doing? I work in the NICU.
4. Your return to exercise schedule is so much different than my surgeons, which is best to do for healing and best results? I am a very active person. Prior to surgery I weight lifted (heavy), I was a runner and i attended extreme cardio fitness classes. I am just so afraid of a poor results and assymetry from inadvertently doing something. Ive had a few (maybe 2 or 3 cercumstances where i was home alone and had to move or lift something that was over 10 pounds and I was sore after, but not for long. I do not want my a longer recovery time and I would orefer not to have capsular scaring.
Although I am a nurse, I am new to plastic surgery and its a shame I didnt do more research as I had hoped the surgeon would have been more descriptive and informative. I also find myself to be tired all the time. I know healing from a major surgery causes the bosy to work extra hard.....i just feel like I have to sleep a lot of my day. Do I have anything i need to worry about?

Very cool Thanks!
My pleasure.
Please do a video of after care on tummy tucks garments do and not to dos. And how do we get in contact with your office
Gosh, I love your videos! You put my mind at ease about so many things! I'm 10 days post op with lift/augmentation and I will say, the first 9 days have been rough. Lots of swelling and pain. I've never had any type of surgery, so I've wasn't expecting that. However, I feel like I'm on the upswing now. Thank you so much for your videos, keep them coming!
Thank you and good luck as you continue to heal.
Just found this channel! I’ve got to research this gentleman in case I can go to him! I’m 67 and had my implants are 30+ years and feel that I need to have replaced. I’m finding it hard to select a couple surgeons to have consultations with…..the 3 surgeons referred to me are no longer in practice. Interesting how scared I am …..when I originally had augmentation I had no fear.
What brand implant do you have
Great video. Can you explain the difference between having your implants over the muscles versus under the muscles. Which way is better? Thank you!
Under the muscle is better because it looks natural
I have my over the muscle , subfascial and they look great

Ok so what about if you have a lift with the augmentation? Does everything still apply?
Hi Dr! Which scar cream is your favorite? I’ve taken notes and will definitely be asking my surgeon these questions. 🙌🏽☺️
I want to know the answer to this one too lol
The Ogee Scar Gel--not available yet but coming out in 2 months.
Wow! Great information. Wish I would have seen this Before my breast lift/augmentation. My left has been painful and extremely painful ever since surgery. My surgeon is like a fast food drive thru. And definitely not able to speak to him about painful breaats. I tried searching for my surgeon on the website, nothing was found.
very nice
Great Video, thanks a lot for it!!! Can you kinldy recommend a silicon gel for massage the scars?
I can. I suggest the Ogee Scar System. It has a unique bottle that has a roller and vibrates to apply the scar gel and that gets down twice a day and then at night I have patients wear silicone gel sheeting. If you are interested I have attached the link: ogeerecovery.com/collections/ogee-scar-recovery
Thank you Dr for all your advices , can you give us any brand silicone cream available in europe ? t

this is super helpful, i just booked my BA and i’m super nervous. this calmed my nerves a bit
Good I am glad you found it helpful. It is meant to help answer some questions. I am doing a CZcams LIVE on January 8 and January 9 at 7pm. On Jan 8 it will be How to Prepare for a BA, and on Jan 9 it will be a class on How to Recover from a BA. Two evening classes meant to help patients considering or already booked for a breast augmentation prepare for their surgery.
Textured implants were preferred in the past to prevent capsular contraction... my doc says there is a new texture that is a hybrid of texture and smooth now, after the textured implant breast cancer issue. Do u recommend it? I have the textured ones put in from 11 years ago linked to cancer unfortunately and i have been seeing my doc recently every 6 months for ultrasound and so far no anomalies, not even capsular contracture, i guess thanks to the texture. My doc says no need for replacement yet
Thankyou. SO MUCH FOR THE INFOR. YOU ANSWERED EVERYTHING. THAT I WAS THIINKING. GODBLESS YOU. 🤗 XO
Glad it was helpful!
Very informative, I loved the information. I was recommended to replace my implants in 10 to 12 yrs max.
That's a commonly held misconception. No need to do so though.
You are AMAZING! Very much appreciate your feedback. That is the technique that the surgeon that performed my implants surgery 12 years ago said he did. I am pretty athletic so may be that is the reason he opted for that. I am okay with it and have NOT had any issues. I am just more alert now to downsize. Doing my homework!🧐
Preparation is key.
Thank you so much so imformative
Glad it was helpful!
I found most of the information you provided very informative and accurate from my experience of having two breast augmentation procedures over 44 years. The first procedure resulted in some capsular contractions but was not severe enough to have them removed. I kept them for 20 years until I had my second procedure. My surgeon used Mentor implants, but the during this exchange he opted for the Mentor Siltex due to previous issue with scar tissue. Fast forward 24 years later I have absolutely no issues either with scar tissue or risk of ALCL from textured implants. Since I have had these implants for 24 years, and that I am now 70.5 years old, I decided to have one last exchange (hopefully) this June, 2024. Currently I made the decision to stay with the Siltex implant since they performed well for me and Mentor has a very excellent track record with this type of textured implant vs. Allergan.
I was a little taken back by your advice “ to not get textured implants”. I know this is totally a personal choice made by me and my surgeon, but given the current data available about the very minimal risk with Mentor Siltex implants, perhaps that advice could be worded differently? Just my opinion and I am not refuting your experience and knowledge of breast augmentation surgery.
Respectfully,
Nancy I
We do know that the problems are mostly from the Allergan textured implants, but cases have also been reported with other textured implants as well. So if I am giving advice to a person having their first breast augmentation, someone that may have their implants for 44 years, I would suggest using a smooth implant. Everything is about risk reduction and avoidance and that to me seems prudent, but certainly your experience has been great and it makes sense for you. If you knew what you know now perhaps you may have made a different decision 44 years ago. Perhaps not. There is no one answer and these things are individual, but I really appreciate your comments. It is also difficult in videos to sometimes delve into the detail we need and it can also muddy the waters. Thank you again.
Awesome Dr Og I always listing to your teachings u the best I just had my breast done and your teachings has helped me a lot!!!!
That's great to hear. Good luck on your recovery and healing.
I’m having my surgery in less than a week at 37yo, no kids. I weigh 145lb (recently lost 70lb in the last year), I had gained about 40-50 pounds during nursing school while working the overnight shift to pay my way BUT I did it! My surgeon says my breast’s are droopy and would only let me go to 350cc. I’m not even sure what the profile is, so I am 100% going to ask - Thank you for this! My friend and nursing school bestie got hers 2 years ago from the same surgeon up here in MA. She’s about the same size as me, give or take 10lb and she was also about 200lb after her 2nd child (she has 3), but she received 430cc. I know it’s different for everyone but I don’t want to regret it! Especially when it’s very expensive up here (almost $8k), but I didn’t want to travel for surgery or especially after surgery, so I decided to stay & do it 30 minutes from home instead. Thank you for your videos, I’ll be back to remind myself of these as I heal! I did already buy the silicone tape as I don’t want massive scars - I already have one across my back from my open heart surgery that I had at 2 weeks old, but it’s covered by tattoos now which I may do for these scars down the road if I’m unhappy with them. I appreciate your advice and knowledge ❤
Best of luck and I wish you a great recovery!
Im having breast augmentation in January and this is very informative
Glad you found it helpful. If you have any questions you would like answered please let me know.
Thank you! Why Are surgeons always telling people not to sleep on their stomach immediately after breast implants?
Thank you
You're welcome.
You are amazing
I just love your straight forward approach…can you give more info on scar cream and silicon sheeting? Do you put cream on then sheeting? And change everyday or every week?
The Ogee Scar System is very simple to use. Massage the scar gel into your scar for two minutes twice a day, and then wear the scar strips at night while you sleep. Remove strips in the morning, wash your incision with soap and water and then massage Ogee scar gel into your scar and repeat. Do that for one year and you wont believe how your scar looks.
I was impressed how well i could use my arms after the surgery. I expected to almost noy be able to move, while in reality i could do almost all movements i normally could. Only thing that didnt work well was reaching something high for the first few days, but this also improved pretty fast so def positively surprised
That sounds like a great recovery.
ok, thanks
If the implants are high, are they less large? The higher we go the thinner the implant gets? Or do they all have the same size? Or it depends on the size of your natural breast?
Just had my breast augmentation with you on 8/29 nice to have this video to refresh/ reference! At what point could I go braless/ wear underwire bras?

I should have found your video before I done my lift and augmentation breast. I didn’t know about the profiles we allowed to choose. I done my surgery 6 weeks ago and still having some stitches is that normal ? Also in the middle between my breast from the beginning I had like a hard skin swelling, I will start doing Lymphatic massages what do you think?
pls can you make a vid about the mother milk after having a breast augmentation thanks
