"Paesely, sage, rosemary and thyme." - Scarborough Faire. It's a love potion...
I can't wait!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING !
Finally someone who makes it like my mom 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
When do you put dressing in Turkey
Beverly Sapp you don’t
You are the first one I've ever watched that that used the broth from real turkey. I do too.youre the best.
Stumbled across your channel this morning, trying to improve my dressing or get more ideas. I'm from southern IL, my family always called it dressing. My grandma was quick to let you know dressing is outside the bird and stuffing is inside the bird.
I’ve been experimenting with adding sausage and found a local butcher who makes apple sausage links. Otherwise it’s similar to this one. I also grate carrots for colour.
I watch a video all the time I always make this stuffing everybody best stuff in ever thank you
What a comprehensive tutorial on stuffing. I cant tell you how many content creators think its about them. Thanks for showing us your recipe and personality.
This looks great! You are too much fun in the kitchen! 😂 Loved this! 😊 Thank you for sharing!
Thank you!! My first year making Dressing without out my grandma's guidance. Thank you for all the help!
This was close to the recipe my Mama use to do when I was a little girl.
I am going to try my hand at it on Thanksgiving
I am so glad i found your channel because Thanksgiving will be here before you know it! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I know right
Ohhh your stuffing looks great!!! I’m sooo excited for the holidays! Bring on thanksgiving! Tfs!
I know! My favorite holiday - lol! I'm excited too - and thank you!
My mom made this almost the same way-she used the same ingredients, but mixed together the broth, eggs, salt and pepper and poured it over the bread crumbs already mixed with the celery, onions, parsley and Sage. Great recipe -thank you!
oh my God I just want to say you had me cracking up I love it this is the way the actual cooking it's done in the kitchen mistakes will happened you can't be a perfectionist I love it and love your receipt! I live in Wolcott ct and I making a turkey for this Easter weekend so definitely making your Turkey stuffing.,.thank you
I know I have watched over 20 videos on CZcams you're the only one that makes their stuffing like I do the right way thank you for sharing your video God bless you Happy Thanksgiving
Love your personality. So happy. thanks for sharing. Great video
Great video.....I’m making this for Christmas😁
Hi Jan 👋 I think you did an amazing job the dressing vs. stuffing.. I never quite thought about it like that. Your dressing looks so delicious. Don't apologize for how you "know it" if it's dressing in your family, then dressing it is 🙂 I make my Stuffing very similar to yours. I don't toast or dry my bread (never have) I use more butter but no stock. I use sage, thyme and poultry seasoning (sparingly on the poultry seasoning) the onions, celery and eggs. Sometimes I stuff the Turkey others I make Stuffing balls. Both ways are great. I've never measured anything, that's how my mom taught me and anytime I try to measure, it doesn't work lol ty so much for sharing this recipe and your wonderful laugh/sense of humor 🌻💚
Great job, Jan!!
thank you! wonderful tips I will use and you are great.
Thank you so much!
This looks good damn good. Thanks for sharing the video
that stuffing looked sooooo
good I could actually taste it
Great video
May the thanksgiving gods be with me this fine day..
Next time I make a Turkey----I'm using this recipe! Thanks!
This looks amazing! I wonder if I could put everything together on thanksgiving day and then when the turkey is done and resting, just scoop a cup of broth from the turkey roasting pan and add it to the dressing right before I bake it for 30-35 minutes. This way I get the flavor without having to roast a turkey one week before. What do you think? I would use a cup of chicken broth to help the bread absorb for 5 minutes like you did and then add the broth from my thanksgiving turkey real quick before putting it in the oven. Thank you for your recipe. I enjoyed watching and appreciate how authentic you are! It feels like I am cooking with you in your kitchen.
You are a sweetheart! Thank you for being real in your video! I love the "mishaps" along the way..shows you're having fun.😂 I'm asked to bring the dressing/stuffing this year for the work Thanksgiving party and I really like the boxed Stove Top one. So when I came across your recipe, it looks similar to the boxed version, but I'm sure taste even better. I'm going to try making it! Happy Thanksgiving and GOD bless you and yours!🦃🤗
(11/26/19) UPDATE: I made the stuffing!!! Although i used the swanson's chicken broth and my grocery store was out of fresh herbs so i used dried. All in all, i got nothing but rave reviews! I'm making it for the family's Thanksgiving get together. Oh, and when I had to warm the dish up in the microvave--it gave the dressing a nice touch! The edges and some of the bread pieces had a wonderful crunch--not too crunchy--just the right crunch! Yummmo🤤Thanks for sharing!
Work Thanksgiving, ridiculous
My favorite holiday too 😅
Thank you 😊
First time making stuffing for Thanksgiving and this is the recipe I will use. I will be stuffing it in the bird though. Thanksgiving is also my favorite holiday!! New sub!!
Thanks for sharing your great recipe. My favorite part of Thanksgiving. Please share your written recipe.
Awesome basic recipe. I would also add ground browned sausage, chopped up dried apricots and Cranrsidins, yum! I do want to make my own turkey stock….great suggestion. Happy Thanksgiving!
based thanksgiving enjoyer
thank you for this
Yummy,God bless 😋 you.
I love chicken stock, sage, thyme, celery, onion in mine. I also use Pepperidge Farm Stuffing. You are hilarious btw.
What kind of hints can you give me about Oyster Dressing my Dad used to make his, and I've never been able to duplicate his?
Thankyou jan
Great receipe thanks. Some constructive feedback, camera was in and out of focus. Ron?
Just like mom always made 😋
Yummy very delicious
I use half sour dough and half unsweetened cornbread. Both toasted golden brown and air dried. Then celery, onion, a little shredded carrot, garlic, parsley sage, rosemary, thyme, cayenne pepper, salt, white pepper, butter, chicken stock and egg. Turns out excellent and pretty. Sometimes I add spicy browned breakfast sausage.
Thanks for sharing!!!!
Loved this video, thank-you! I have come to believe that stuffing is like spaghetti sauce. However your mama made it is always going to be your favourite. That said, I’ve definitely adapted mine from my grandpa’s original recipe. I am definitely going to try this one!
Hi I’ve been going thru a lot of recipes and the majority of cooks don’t let you know how much of the ingredients to use or how long to cook it for you make it easier for me by telling me what and how much to use and for how long to cook it plus your 😄😆👍👏I’m subscribing to your channel thx and keep up the good work
Love this chic¡
Hi Jan, you know I love the way you cook! This recipe sounds so good. Growing up we used cornbread and bread and added meat. You know my family never used sage and I always wondered why? Now my Mother is gone so I cannot ask her and my Father and I plan on making the dressing this year but I am sure he wouldn't like me changing Mom's recipe. Lol Hope you have been doing well I love all your holiday recipes that you are sharing and I will tell you now I want to make my own turkey broth. Thank you for the inspiration!--------------------------Tressa Daigle
Yep I’m southern and we make it not like that. My mother put liver and meat in her dressing. Oh my gosh. It was killer delicious
Love to you and your 👨 Dad
I like to add some of the turkey gravy and mix it in the stuffing
Hello from another Southern girl. I just discovered you today. Subscribed and liked. Your dressing looks amazing and I'll be trying it out this year.
Off topic question...the jar on your counter with the coffee filter on top looks like homemade creme fraiche. Is that what it is? I make my own all the time and so I always seem to have a jar on my counter or outside on my patio since I live in a warmer climate and it sets up perfectly in 12 hours or so. It was refreshing to see that someone else makes their own creme fraiche like I do.
Exited to see other videos you have to try out. Thank you for sharing
I am Tryingnit to day I ever made made stuffing I watch many videos your was best
I’m looking for the Sourdough Starter you mentioned.
Hi! It should post right after Christmas I think - although I do have an old one. Let me see... czcams.com/video/1DToXR133VA/video.html It's old, and the quality isn't what I'd wish, which is why I reshot it but the information is valid. Thank you!
That looks like the dressing my mama used to make!
Pro tip: Place a damp towel under your cutting board to prevent slipping. Awesome recipe. Just whipped this up for dinner tonight!! Thanks!
One day ima make stuffing.. !
I just LOVE cornbread dressing. 😋 but I will wait til there is no cornbread in the house. Lol thanks 4 sharing
(: I love Sage ... And celery too!!!!! ... 😚
(: Great Recipe!!!!! .... ❤
I understand the difference is that stuffing is cooked inside a bird and dressing is cooked outside the bird.
Ilike to try new waysa some like italian saugage..like to try some new ways..
Jan, just found your channel, I find your personality refreshing. Love your laughter. Your stuffing is just like my Mom use to make and I still do this day. You are correct, sage is the key. The one thing that I love to add is sage sausage. Thumbs up.👍🏾
😋 yummy
Broth is good w stuffing.like chicken broth..
Could I cut the recipe in half and freeze for two chickens?
Giblets broth is good too
How much bread do you need to stuff a 16 1/2 lb turkey plz let me know
About a loaf
I really enjoyed your video, but the camera had a very hard time staying in focus.
Must be a big fat douche bag on the camera with a very irritating lady cooking. Just cook and stop with your dumb humor.
Nah, the focus really does need some... Focus... 😂😑😑😐
Have a great Thanksgiving all..
Try adding chopped apple and some raisins. You can skip the broth if you stuff the turkey with it, the turkey juices should be enough to moisten the stuffing.
I use cornbread always but i had my grandma use regular bread a it was good to..w celery onion a sage a tyme a i got married a had 3kids a made cornbread a wpork saugage a it was good ..
What are the exact measurements?😋
It's dressing to me, too. Of course, I'm southern, also.
I always get stuffing and dressing all mixed up when I make the videos - it was dressing to me growing up, but most folks call it stuffing. Doesn't matter - it's all terrific!
@@JanCharles
(: True .... "It doesn't matter"!!!!! ... ☺
Omg I love the vid
@@victorialovinggodinyou2832
(: Yes ... It is a very nice video!!!!! ... ☺
Your camera doesn't focus very good when it's shooting at a distance and at close-ups, otherwise good recipe.
Truthfully, most people can't tell the difference between chicken broth and turkey broth once you have added the seasoning and herbs. Best to save that broth to make extra gravy.
Would be better with cornbread added and more broth! Try it! You will love it!
I had subscribe 👍Just for the lady's shirt 👕 😉 👍👌,,,,,,,,,
Holy out of focus batman!!!
Camera keeps losing focus. What do the eggs do? People normally don't add eggs
Here in the south we call it dressing not stuffing.
You tala a lot
❤💛🧡💜💙💚
Stuffing needs to be put in the turkey to be good.
We're the cornbread
What is the point of using foil on your baking sheet ??
what is a stalk bag?
Keep all your bits of veggies and herbs in the freezer. When you make broth just pop it in your water and simmer then season to taste.
Stock bag. Like chicken or beef stock.
She even got the police in to get me out
Like 👍
Ingredients please :(
She looks like Carol Baskin... but WAY nicer I bet.
Do you. Need too add eggs?
No and use way less broth (stock)
I've never added eggs and it came out just fine.
Your recipe is great but you need a good camera. This video is so blurred.
Yum! thanks giving dinner smells the best! I want to open cafe serve nothing but turkey, Good home cooking! Smell the turkey 2 blocks away. Then for The whole month of November. Serve spaghetti only have a small toaster oven, I can cook 1/4 turkey breast 1/2 c gravy,, tblsp stuffing 1/2 tblsp potatoe, butt of a sweet potato. For desert a pumpkin seed..ha!...happy thanks giving 2020* 🍸 unless room for one more...hint...i do windows! And a pilot^
In the south we call it cornbread dressing. If you use bread other than cornbread it’s stuffing.
Is egg really necessary? Just asking
adessa Chui no, I never put eggs in it, learn this from my great grandmother
Not neccessary, but it does help hold everything together. No egg produces a stuffing with more loose pieces.
The eggs are used as a binder
I made this and yes, eggs are necessary. Not only to bind the ingredients, but i believe it helps to keep the dish from drying out. At first, i had my misgivings as i mixed in the eggs, but i wanted to give it a try...Sure enough! It came out perfect! Made some minor alterations, but still very good!!! This will be the dish I gladly volunteer to bring to Thanksgiving parties! Delicious!
No egg!
Ok... is that good for real bird stuffing? Father was from up north so as my wife puts it.. stuffing in the butt!! Lol
I stuff the front and the back. I hear it tastes good and it feels good.
Have another drink!
Did u had a few glasses of wine before?
Omg the camera man is horrible 🤦🏻♀️ it is so out of focus that I can’t watch it 😩 love ur tips n explanations of why.
I'm sorry but everybody knows that stuffing is inside the 🦃 and dressing is outside
You h7
no eggs
Ya need a new camera man, either that or a new camera. The focus keep getting all gnarly.
no eggs no eggs..
