What amazes me is how intimate their relationship feels even after knowing each other for such a short time. He's known Tifa since childhood and to me it always seemed that she was more interested in him romantically then he was in her. Even when they meet up again, he's standoffish. He wasn't even going to go to Tifa's rescue. Aerith had to chastise him into it. Cloud and Tifa's relationship reminds me so much of Ranma and Ukyo from Ranma 1/2. There is a deep seeded friendship there, and you know instantly that they will always be there for each other, but for him that's as far as it goes. Aerith gets him to smile and laugh. She knows just what to say to gently push him out of his funk, and soften him. I absolutely love when he tells the flowers to learn to talk to her. It's just so unlike him, yet he doesn't hesitate because he wants to see her happy. Hell, even when you CHOOSE Tifa in the sewers the cut scene reveals her worried that there is more to Cloud and Aerith's relationship than he's letting on. SHE even sees it. The cut scene with him and Aerith... when he asks if he gets a say in their relationship to me indicates he thinks there is something there and he'd like to pursue it. He's adamant he's coming after her and she tells him he's made her more happy then he'll ever know. Even in Advent Children... when he gets sick who does he go to? Does he find comfort in Tifa? No. He heads straight for the church, because it makes him feel close to Aerith. To me it's pretty obvious who has his heart. Hell, she got him to PICK freaking flowers with her! ^_^
@@shiyaerith thank you! Heh...Ranma 1/2 is,still one of my favorite anime. To me it's obvious that Tifa is in the friend zone. But that doesn't mean Cloud's feelings for her aren't deep. ^_^

Damn feels. The music fits perfectly. They're so cute together & Aerith is such a beautiful soul! I ship all the pairings in FF7, but Cloud x Aerith dynamics in the Remake was absolutely magical. ❤
According to the canon, she begins to flirt with Cloud because of the external resemblance to Zack. But after a while, she realizes that they are very different, she falls in love with Cloud much more than with Zack and wants to be with him forever, if it were possible. She meets Zack in Lifestream, and realizes that she no longer has feelings for him, and that her feelings for Cloud are real and sincere . Zack offers them to be together in Lifestream , she rejects him because of her love for Cloud . This is what is written in the official books. And the fact that her love for the Cloud is much stronger , it is written not even in one, but in several official books. And nothing will change in the game. Because FF7OG is a love story of Cloud and Aerith, fans will not forgive if this doesnt happen in the remake She can't love him more , according to all the canons ( Books and OG), her feelings for Cloud are much stronger .She even says it herself to Zack in Lifestream. And the relationship in the remake will not change , you can be one hundred percent sure of that. If you think that something has changed, just because she called his name in the park, unlike the original. I'll tell you why she said the name. So that the fans of Crisis core dont hate her character. It would be cruel to repeat the original in this scene, after Crisis Core, where people liked Zack and Aerith.
You’re referring to “The Maiden Who Travels The Planet” in regards to Aerith talking to Zack in the Lifestream. Wasn’t that considered non-canon by pretty much everyone, including the developers? Even so, I will say that “On A Way To A Smile” is considered canon and in that book Aerith states she loved Cloud, and that she had so many things she wanted to tell him, but didn’t know what to say or how. It’s clear both girls love Cloud, Tifa having feelings for him first as proven in the “Traces Of Two Pasts” novel, while Aerith likely didn’t start falling for him until later, or in the Remake’s case, near the end of the game. It’s clear Zack is alive now, and I think has been stated by the developers that he’ll have a prominent role in part 2 and 3. He’s also wanting to be with Aerith as Intergrade showed, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they paired him back up with Aerith.
@@corvo1855 I don’t know, Square Enix did a poll based on multiple choices you make in the Remake, and with the one in regards to Tifa or Aerith, it was pretty 50/50 so I wouldn’t say one is vastly more loved than the other. Both girls loving Cloud has always been the case, so I imagine the devs will get a lot of backlash if they pair Zack and Aerith. I wouldn’t mind Cloud getting with either girl officially as I love them both in different ways, but it’ll be interesting if they do away with the ambiguity and make a pairing canon.

Only haters would say there is no love between them, it’s so obvious, I don’t have a ship in particular, if he was closer to Tifa I would say the same, but objectively he sure is closer romantically to Aerith
True, there's definitely love between them for sure... Cloud literally couldn't keep his mouth closed when he saw Aerith in that gorgeous red dress. Metaphorically, his heart was racing like the indy 500. Totally felt it through the screen. Their relationship feels like puppy love. It's very natural and easy going. Yet, there's a part of the game that screams, _don't say we didn't warn you_ , that came straight from Aerith's lips. That said, there's definitely love toward Tifa too, but it's covered within layers and layers of complication. Underneath all the tragedy and awkward/embarrassing childhood encounters, how do you even begin to ...it's awkward. No one wants to do the hard math. She's too reserved to talk about it and so is he. He just doesn't know what to do with those feelings. That's why it's so easy for him to say, "No, she's not my girlfriend." If it were anything platonic, I highly doubt he'd get mad at the beginning of the game when that cashier was like, "Hey if you ever need a break, I'll gladly take over..." OR during Barrett's special scene. Cloud did willingly give Tifa the flower even after Aerith told him, "Lovers used to give these when they were reunited." Body language-wise, Cloud is consistently attentive towards Tifa. Those two need intervention beyond their own device. SMH. But I agree, it's undeniable that Cloud has mutual and strong feelings toward Aerith and it's more in your face vs the reservations between Cloud and Tifa. Maybe in another 23 years.

Tifa clearly likes cloud but he doesn't take as much interest in tifa when aerith is also involved all they are is childhood friends. And assuming aerith is a time traveller then her giving him the flower means that they're the lovers that are reunited
@@_Archo Hey Archo, thanks for your reply. I came into remake open-minded and neutral. Honestly, I wasn't caring much about the love triangle... however, it's quite 'in your face' a lot of times. Story line and small details tend to be easily glossed over because of the overwhelming eye candy everywhere! I also wrote my thoughts on a whim based on my head canon a week ago. If I can be honest... I've been digging in the mud so to speak, soul searching... maybe a little too obsessively, in order to piece together facts and make sense of what's going on. I respect your viewpoint and I'm sure you feel strongly about Cloud and Aerith. Everyone has their own unique thoughts on the matter. They are cute, no doubt. Ultimately, after doing much thinking, I'll have to respectfully disagree with some of your statements. I never base any conclusions based on any fan perception. And I welcome you to do the same. :-) It's only fair that we step away from the elephant if we want to see the truth and be willing to accept the whole picture.The game does well in presenting facts for itself if you're willing to put aside personal preferences. Since this is a Cloud x Aerith video and I respect Aerith so much, I'll just say this based on playing the OG, CC, Remake, and ACC. There are 2 reason's why I can't and will never support CxA endgame: 1. Tifa Lockhart 2. Zack Fair Cloud is not within himself. Aerith is grieving underneath that happy exterior. She has not fully moved on and thus when she sees a reminder of her past love within Cloud, she wants to explore and hold on to it. No way I will ever degrade Cloud's character or Aerith's character. Especially knowing their past. I cried deeply for Aerith upon witnessing Zack's fate. I wanted to punch the wall. That's how I feel about that with my head cannon. Within remake, their connection is cute and reminiscent of a puppy love, but it will never flesh out. I'm betting my heart on it. :-) It's interesting that you say that Tifa is just a childhood friend. If that's the case, I don't see a real reason for Tifa being in Final Fantasy VII based on 'just a childhood friend' narrative. JUST to make Aerith shine? She's not that petty of a character to not shine on her own merit. And Cloud does not need it for his own merit either... because, then he'll have Aerith's ghost right? She'll fix him from the life stream. If he really wants a warm female body to protect, Yuffie comes in later too. Sarcasm aside, why in the world would Cloud base a LIFE decision to join SOLDIER for a platonic childhood friend? _It doesn't make sense. Most people only think about themselves and only make life changing decisions for people they consider to be very special. Oh you know... say like a family member, a best friend, or a love interest._ Why does he STILL actively think about a promise that some people call 'forced' upon him by a girl who he barely knows, while balling up his fist up on the sector 7 plate and feeling some type of inadequate way? _Most people would have called that promise 'bull****' and forgot it in 2 days max. Cloud ain't no SIMP! Is he? Promise for a platonic friend? Anyone who's played Crisis Core knows he's already fulfilled that promise (as Tifa demanded... "just once pleeeeease")._ Why does he get jealous when guys make comments and passes about Tifa? _The shopkeeper (ch 3), Chocobo Sam (ch 9), and Al (ch 14:) Barret's resolution made Cloud's head turn real fast. It's totally unnecessary to get jealous when an old friend gets interest shown their way... wait, he must be looking out for Johnny. That's it. LOL._ Does it even make sense that he also keeps touching Tifa unnecessarily... she's perfectly capable of taking care of herself. He doesn't need to keep putting his hands all over her arms, back, waist, and shoulders. Yet he can't keep his hands off of her. Or is he secretly a pervert for Tifa? I don't know... someone please tell Aerith. Johnny can't know this, ever. 🙄 I've never seen a platonic male/female friend be touchy like that especially when they don't know each other that well and haven't seen each other in a long time. Unless they got something going on... can it still then be considered platonic? Hmmmm... as Tifa says, let's make a promise, ~please?! Also, since Cloud's not interested, tell Cloud to stop having long staring contests with Tifa. He sure as hell isn't looking away. Long pauses in her eyes...intensely gazing, did he get lost? Seriously though, I don't doubt both ladies are a necessity to helping push and mold Cloud's character forward in Remake. Toward the end of the game, the dynamic of their relationships did shift. I believe the developers already made that clear and foreshadowed what changed. It's up to you to take the game's narrative or impress your own desires upon the narrative. That's up to you. It's a complex and compelling work of fiction. I am unapologetic for the things I say ^_______^. Lastly... I support the developer's narrative, which includes Tifa as a very important character and a very dear person to Cloud, not just a childhood friend, she's more than that... however 'boring' she is. That's up to Cloud. Remake is faithful to Aerith and the important role she plays. She is the planet's savior after all :-).
@@VizualeyezProductns hey I just read all that you wrote and I'm sorry but I disagree on a lot of things (I'm personally ship Cloud with Aerith but I had a clear mind going into FF7 since I only played the games very recently) Firstly I dont agree that Aerith hangs on to Cloud because he reminds her of Zack. The only thing they have in common is that they are both 1st class SOLDIERs. Just compare the ways in how they met Aerith and their interactions with her and just the way they are in general. You have a confident Zack on one side and a not so confident and quiet Cloud with a hard shell on the outside. I really dont see the similarities between them besides being SOLDIERs so what Aerith feels for Cloud is only for Cloud. Also Zack says as he dies "say hi to Aerith for me" why would he do that? He knows Cloud doenst know Aerith. The thing is he cares about both so much and he wants them to be happy. He is literally shipping in my opinion. He wants them to meet Then I have no idea where you've seen Cloud and Tifa even touch. Only thing that I remember is them hugging in her resolution and the jealous scene in chapter 11 and even if you compare the resolution scenes Tifa is the one that initiates the hug while Cloud actually reaches out and tries to grab Aerith's arm after she told him not fo fall in love with him (imagine what Cloud would have done if she could have grabbed her though. Would he pull her for a hug? Would he have even kissed her? We can only wonder). And thats not the only time Cloud and Aerith touch each other without much need. When they are saving the kids in sector 5 and the floor breaks beneath Aerith and Cloud grabs her arm even though she was completely safe, when she wakes up in Corneo's basement and again he grabs her even though she was already up and Tifa was even in the same room watching and there is also the high 5 (which Cloud also tried to initiate after seeing that she was sad about him not giving a high 5) and then they did it TWICE. Also the intimacy in which they stare into each other in the park and resolution scenes, Cloud's jaw drop to Aerith's walking in the dress, him caring about her talking to the flowers (while he never cared for the planet while he was with the Avalanche members including Tifa), him smiling at her tones of times throughout chapter 9 (for realising she wants to spend more time with her and for general banter between both of them) and so much more. I just dont see the same connection with Tifa at all. Cloud became a SOLDIER because he was blamed for what happened with Tifa and he was seen as weak. Thats why he wore his helmet when he went back. It wasnt just because of Tifa. He already was wearing it even before he knew Tifa was the guide. He just wanted everyone in the village to think he was strong now that hes a SOLDIER even though he wasnt. Also remember that in the OG Tifa was the one who remembered the promise but in the remake Cloud remembers it and its not surprising since she said "i feel trapped" and because of how thats one of the only memories he has with Tifa so its not that surprising that it would ring some bells in his head. In the end I just dont see any intimacy between Cloud and Tifa and you can really feel the love Cloud and Aerith have for each other. It doesnt mean Tifa is not important to Cloud because she is. After all she was the one that got him setup in Midgar and has always been a trustworthy person for Cloud but I never seen a romantic side in that relationship. Not sure how Tifa feels for Cloud though but thats a different story. Even if she has feelings for him its clear that Cloud is only interested in Aerith

You've already chosen a narrative from your perspective and you believe that to be true no matter what official sources say. I don't think anyone or anything in the universe will change your mind. I played the original game in 1999, which doesn't hold much value except for the fact the I completed the entire game and *I don't need to make anything up.* Personally, from the getgo, I loved Aerith--picked the Gold Saucer date with Aerith--was devastated losing Aerith. And to add salt to the wound, I leveled her as part of my main trio! When I lost her, the preteen in me, made me want to drop kick my controller and quit! But I kept going. Toward the end of the game while playing as Tifa in the life stream, I found out that Cloud has ALWAYS LOVED TIFA for YEARS. That was plastered in ALL segments of his memory. Their relationship was hidden in plain sight! The game BEGINS and ENDS with Tifa. She is his life's mission, which is coming directly from the game, NOT ME. Who am I (or anyone else) to pick for CLOUD? That's *his choice* without player interjection. Once Cloud regains his true self, you DON'T get to chose for him any longer. He was NEVER a puppet. During the last night before the fight with Sephiroth, he tells the entire crew to go visit their loved ones. Cloud doesn't go and visit the Forgotten City or the Church in the Slums. Cloud and Tifa both choose to remain onboard. There's 2 reasons for this. One, they had no where else to go. Two, they just discovered each other again. And under the Highwind, _Cloud_ confirms his mutual romantic feelings with Tifa. Again, that's from the GAME, not me! Their mutual love for each other needs to unfold as the story progresses so the developers CAN'T openly give that away. It's a BIG part of the life stream event. Ultimately the CHOICE always belonged to Cloud, not us... the player. FF7 isn't a dating sim. As far as Remake goes... Aerith is super important, like the Goddess to Cloud, to Tifa, to the entire damn planet and everyone else and their mom. She is the reason why we have FF7 and FF7R! Hopefully later on... she and Zack gets reunited in life... NOT tragically in death as before. They have the best romantic connection out of any FF couple, bar none. Cloud and Tifa's romantic connection is meant to be low key and displayed through cryptic means. If you reveal Tifa's past then it also reveals Cloud's past. They are a double edge sword. The developers can't afford do that in the storyline thus far. And last but not least, you say that Tifa is his platonic friend... Truthfully, I don't think you want to see it as anything more than that. I can list all the times they "touched" each other and stared at each other with gifs and videos. this video touched my soul, I can't even express how beautiful it is, but it perfectly represents the relationship of both. Cloud x aerith is the kind of relationship that makes your skin stand on end, makes you smile, and makes you cry. As a player I always had her in my team with the best magic materials and summons even with more PG and PM than cloud, when she died, I cried a lot and I couldn't find a replacement for her in another character, not even tifa, in some way, the game was not the same whit out aerith, (At least for me). I felt like cloud in AC ☹️😔In this remake it will be worse 🤧
You're God Damn Right. This video is just absolutely, beautifully, wonderfully perfect. There's just so much emotion in this video. The song and all of the special dialogue from Cloud and Aerith, and every single special moment they both shared together. I especially loved the ending where Cloud asked if he got a say in loving Aerith or not and it shows Aerith's vulnerable side (making us think that Cloud is looking into her head and seeing just how hurt she really is), leading Cloud to make his final decision and promise Aerith that he going to come save her no matter what, making Aerith both scared but ultimately happy.
Ok I can't state this enough, between the producers and the novels and the OG I don't know how you can make any mistake about these 2 but if you still are not convinced. check out 2:33 in any of the FF7 Games or Advent Children did Cloud ever look at Tifa this way. I dare you to find a clip where he did. Don't worry I'll wait...
The amount of times I’ve come back to watch this is insane. The coloring, the music, the scene transition, the CHEMISTRY between these two! Just absolutely incredible job :)
"But whatever happens, don't fall in love with me" this line confirms that in FF7 OG Cloud did fall in love with her and didn't want him to go through all the suffering again so she tells him NOT to fall in love with her! IN YOUR FACE CLOTIS 😅
She says that because she knows she’s gonna die, and therefore is not wanting Cloud to get hurt as much by falling for her. Also her second part that you conveniently leave out, has her tell Cloud that whatever he may feel for her isn’t real. No doubt because of the Zack thing. The remake has even brought him back, so it’s clear he’ll Titanic Clerith. The remake is clearly pushing for Cloti, it’s obvious. Starting with the fact they’ve brought Zack back, which will definitely have an affect on any relationship between Cloud and Aerith. From being unable to leave without getting the flower at the beginning, to now not having the option to give it to Marlene or Tifa, and the fact Aerith specifically says lovers used to give them to one another. All different to the OG. The bar scene with Cloud calling Tifa beautiful. He didn’t look at his drink when he said it, nor did he taste it yet so it’s clearly about her. And it makes her blush/bite her lip. Then there’s Marle insinuating that Cloud and Tifa are closer than the rest, especially her comment after they make date plans. Not to mention her frequent nagging of him both in the main game and the Yuffie dlc imply it’s personal to her, and can only be because of how Marle views Tifa as a granddaughter. Otherwise why be so invested in one of your “granddaughters” friends, of which she has many, mostly men. Also there’s the train scene, that can have the pair jump together and have a little moment. In the original Tifa jumps herself no matter what if I recall. I even think Aerith is pushing them together a little, with her teasing him about Tifa, or her telling Sam they’re gonna save Tifa from a life without Cloud. And though it’s a mistranslation from the Japanese one, but Aerith making Tifa jealous in the ghost rail yard is in my headcanon her way of getting her to open up more about her feelings. Finally I’ve read the Traces Of Two Pasts” novel detailing backstory for Aerith and Tifa, and it shows a lot about Tifa’s relationship to Cloud and her feelings for him. IN YOUR FACE CLERITH’S

I dnt ship animated drawing nor any frm animated/cartoon film/series that only fictionalize and hard to imagine-For some reason I only do that to a real actors in their role either came frm(series-movies-books) . But in this case its different ofc its different bcoz its a game moreof RPG and I felt inlove the1st time I see them they're like ACTORS in my eyes probably bcoz its a 3d The graphic motion and I can even fantasize more compare to a flat drawing with colors😁...btw I knew CLERITH so well and I could tell that somehow this two either FMVorGMV u called it their chemistry are somewhat real life character that depicts In every film/series LOVERS you've watched.
@@Bellarose36 yass yass, really I'm on Animated 3D-AI type than animated cartoon type , Bcoz 3D-AI are somewhat close to a Factual , And it's a weird for me if I ship both anime cartoon drawing like example Sasuke and Sakura even tho they are popular and I also loved them as pairing but I dnt fantasize them as what I did to ff7r and other 3d characters. And I've doubt I would ship aerith and cloud even if I saw a CC movie nor OG coz it's still animated cartoon(lucky for me I witness such beautiful NEW 3D version that I can look-up and admired now).
i've never played final fantasy, have seen the movie though; never understood a thing about it. after watching gameplays i really enjoyed this couple. can't wait for the pc version. (have no ps4, :/)

It's just so unlike him, yet he doesn't hesitate because he wants to see her happy. Hell, even when you CHOOSE Tifa in the sewers the cut scene reveals her worried that there is more to Cloud and Aerith's relationship than he's letting on. SHE even sees it. The cut scene with him and Aerith... when he asks if he gets a say in their relationship to me indicates he thinks there is something there and he'd like to pursue it. He's adamant he's coming after her and she tells him he's made her more happy then he'll ever know. Even in Advent Children... when he gets sick who does he go to? Does he find comfort in Tifa? No. He heads straight for the church, because it makes him feel close to Aerith. To me it's pretty obvious who has his heart. Hell, she got him to PICK freaking flowers with her! ^_^

Zack offers them to be together in Lifestream , she rejects him because of her love for Cloud . This is what is written in the official books. And the fact that her love for the Cloud is much stronger , it is written not even in one, but in several official books. And nothing will change in the game. Because FF7OG is a love story of Cloud and Aerith, fans will not forgive if this doesnt happen in the remake
She can't love him more , according to all the canons ( Books and OG), her feelings for Cloud are much stronger .She even says it herself to Zack in Lifestream. And the relationship in the remake will not change , you can be one hundred percent sure of that. If you think that something has changed, just because she called his name in the park, unlike the original. I'll tell you why she said the name. So that the fans of Crisis core dont hate her character. It would be cruel to repeat the original in this scene, after Crisis Core, where people liked Zack and Aerith.

You’re referring to “The Maiden Who Travels The Planet” in regards to Aerith talking to Zack in the Lifestream. Wasn’t that considered non-canon by pretty much everyone, including the developers? Even so, I will say that “On A Way To A Smile” is considered canon and in that book Aerith states she loved Cloud, and that she had so many things she wanted to tell him, but didn’t know what to say or how.
It’s clear both girls love Cloud, Tifa having feelings for him first as proven in the “Traces Of Two Pasts” novel, while Aerith likely didn’t start falling for him until later, or in the Remake’s case, near the end of the game.
It’s clear Zack is alive now, and I think has been stated by the developers that he’ll have a prominent role in part 2 and 3. He’s also wanting to be with Aerith as Intergrade showed, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they paired him back up with Aerith.

@@corvo1855 I don’t know, Square Enix did a poll based on multiple choices you make in the Remake, and with the one in regards to Tifa or Aerith, it was pretty 50/50 so I wouldn’t say one is vastly more loved than the other. Both girls loving Cloud has always been the case, so I imagine the devs will get a lot of backlash if they pair Zack and Aerith. I wouldn’t mind Cloud getting with either girl officially as I love them both in different ways, but it’ll be interesting if they do away with the ambiguity and make a pairing canon.

Only haters would say there is no love between them, it’s so obvious, I don’t have a ship in particular, if he was closer to Tifa I would say the same, but objectively he sure is closer romantically to Aerith
True, there's definitely love between them for sure... Cloud literally couldn't keep his mouth closed when he saw Aerith in that gorgeous red dress. Metaphorically, his heart was racing like the indy 500. Totally felt it through the screen. Their relationship feels like puppy love. It's very natural and easy going. Yet, there's a part of the game that screams, _don't say we didn't warn you_ , that came straight from Aerith's lips.
That said, there's definitely love toward Tifa too, but it's covered within layers and layers of complication. Underneath all the tragedy and awkward/embarrassing childhood encounters, how do you even begin to ...it's awkward. No one wants to do the hard math. She's too reserved to talk about it and so is he. He just doesn't know what to do with those feelings. That's why it's so easy for him to say, "No, she's not my girlfriend." If it were anything platonic, I highly doubt he'd get mad at the beginning of the game when that cashier was like, "Hey if you ever need a break, I'll gladly take over..." OR during Barrett's special scene. Cloud did willingly give Tifa the flower even after Aerith told him, "Lovers used to give these when they were reunited." Body language-wise, Cloud is consistently attentive towards Tifa. Those two need intervention beyond their own device. SMH.
But I agree, it's undeniable that Cloud has mutual and strong feelings toward Aerith and it's more in your face vs the reservations between Cloud and Tifa. Maybe in another 23 years.

@@_Archo Hey Archo, thanks for your reply. I came into remake open-minded and neutral. Honestly, I wasn't caring much about the love triangle... however, it's quite 'in your face' a lot of times. Story line and small details tend to be easily glossed over because of the overwhelming eye candy everywhere!
I also wrote my thoughts on a whim based on my head canon a week ago. If I can be honest... I've been digging in the mud so to speak, soul searching... maybe a little too obsessively, in order to piece together facts and make sense of what's going on.
I respect your viewpoint and I'm sure you feel strongly about Cloud and Aerith. Everyone has their own unique thoughts on the matter. They are cute, no doubt. Since this is a Cloud x Aerith video and I respect Aerith so much, I'll just say this based on playing the OG, CC, Remake, and ACC.
There are 2 reason's why I can't and will never support CxA endgame:
1. Tifa Lockhart
2. Zack Fair
Cloud is not within himself. Aerith is grieving underneath that happy exterior. She has not fully moved on and thus when she sees a reminder of her past love within Cloud, she wants to explore and hold on to it. No way I will ever degrade Cloud's character or Aerith's character. Especially knowing their past. I cried deeply for Aerith upon witnessing Zack's fate. I wanted to punch the wall. That's how I feel about that with my head cannon. Within remake, their connection is cute and reminiscent of a puppy love, but it will never flesh out. I'm betting my heart on it. :-)
It's interesting that you say that Tifa is just a childhood friend. If that's the case, I don't see a real reason for Tifa being in Final Fantasy VII based on 'just a childhood friend' narrative. JUST to make Aerith shine? She's not that petty of a character to not shine on her own merit. And Cloud does not need it for his own merit either... because, then he'll have Aerith's ghost right? She'll fix him from the life stream. If he really wants a warm female body to protect, Yuffie comes in later too.
Sarcasm aside, why in the world would Cloud base a LIFE decision to join SOLDIER for a platonic childhood friend?

_The shopkeeper (ch 3), Chocobo Sam (ch 9), and Al (ch 14:) Barret's resolution made Cloud's head turn real fast. It's totally unnecessary to get jealous when an old friend gets interest shown their way... wait, he must be looking out for Johnny. That's it. LOL._
Does it even make sense that he also keeps touching Tifa unnecessarily... she's perfectly capable of taking care of herself. He doesn't need to keep putting his hands all over her arms, back, waist, and shoulders. Yet he can't keep his hands off of her. Or is he secretly a pervert for Tifa? I don't know... someone please tell Aerith. Johnny can't know this, ever. 🙄
I've never seen a platonic male/female friend be touchy like that especially when they don't know each other that well and haven't seen each other in a long time. Unless they got something going on... can it still then be considered platonic? Hmmmm... as Tifa says, let's make a promise, ~please?!
Also, since Cloud's not interested, tell Cloud to stop having long staring contests with Tifa. He sure as hell isn't looking away. Long pauses in her eyes...intensely gazing, did he get lost?
Seriously though, I don't doubt both ladies are a necessity to helping push and mold Cloud's character forward in Remake. Toward the end of the game, the dynamic of their relationships did shift. I believe the developers already made that clear and foreshadowed what changed. It's up to you to take the game's narrative or impress your own desires upon the narrative. That's up to you. It's a complex and compelling work of fiction. I am unapologetic for the things I say ^_______^.
Lastly... I support the developer's narrative, which includes Tifa as a very important character and a very dear person to Cloud, not just a childhood friend, she's more than that... however 'boring' she is. That's up to Cloud. Remake is faithful to Aerith and the important role she plays. She is the planet's savior after all :-).

Firstly I dont agree that Aerith hangs on to Cloud because he reminds her of Zack. The only thing they have in common is that they are both 1st class SOLDIERs. Just compare the ways in how they met Aerith and their interactions with her and just the way they are in general. You have a confident Zack on one side and a not so confident and quiet Cloud with a hard shell on the outside. I really dont see the similarities between them besides being SOLDIERs so what Aerith feels for Cloud is only for Cloud. Also Zack says as he dies "say hi to Aerith for me" why would he do that? He knows Cloud doenst know Aerith. The thing is he cares about both so much and he wants them to be happy. He is literally shipping in my opinion. He wants them to meet
Then I have no idea where you've seen Cloud and Tifa even touch. Only thing that I remember is them hugging in her resolution and the jealous scene in chapter 11 and even if you compare the resolution scenes Tifa is the one that initiates the hug while Cloud actually reaches out and tries to grab Aerith's arm after she told him not fo fall in love with him (imagine what Cloud would have done if she could have grabbed her though. Would he pull her for a hug? Would he have even kissed her? We can only wonder). And thats not the only time Cloud and Aerith touch each other without much need. When they are saving the kids in sector 5 and the floor breaks beneath Aerith and Cloud grabs her arm even though she was completely safe, when she wakes up in Corneo's basement and again he grabs her even though she was already up and Tifa was even in the same room watching and there is also the high 5 (which Cloud also tried to initiate after seeing that she was sad about him not giving a high 5) and then they did it TWICE. Also the intimacy in which they stare into each other in the park and resolution scenes, Cloud's jaw drop to Aerith's walking in the dress, him caring about her talking to the flowers (while he never cared for the planet while he was with the Avalanche members including Tifa), him smiling at her tones of times throughout chapter 9 (for realising she wants to spend more time with her and for general banter between both of them) and so much more.
I just dont see the same connection with Tifa at all. Cloud became a SOLDIER because he was blamed for what happened with Tifa and he was seen as weak. Thats why he wore his helmet when he went back. It wasnt just because of Tifa. He already was wearing it even before he knew Tifa was the guide. He just wanted everyone in the village to think he was strong now that hes a SOLDIER even though he wasnt. Also remember that in the OG Tifa was the one who remembered the promise but in the remake Cloud remembers it and its not surprising since she said "i feel trapped" and because of how thats one of the only memories he has with Tifa so its not that surprising that it would ring some bells in his head.
In the end I just dont see any intimacy between Cloud and Tifa and you can really feel the love Cloud and Aerith have for each other. It doesnt mean Tifa is not important to Cloud because she is. After all she was the one that got him setup in Midgar and has always been a trustworthy person for Cloud but I never seen a romantic side in that relationship. Not sure how Tifa feels for Cloud though but thats a different story. Even if she has feelings for him its clear that Cloud is only interested in Aerith

I played the original game in 1999, which doesn't hold much value except for the fact the I completed the entire game and *I don't need to make anything up.*
Personally, from the getgo, I loved Aerith--picked the Gold Saucer date with Aerith--was devastated losing Aerith. And to add salt to the wound, I leveled her as part of my main trio! When I lost her, the preteen in me, made me want to drop kick my controller and quit! But I kept going.
Toward the end of the game while playing as Tifa in the life stream, I found out that Cloud has ALWAYS LOVED TIFA for YEARS. That was plastered in ALL segments of his memory. Their relationship was hidden in plain sight! The game BEGINS and ENDS with Tifa. She is his life's mission, which is coming directly from the game, NOT ME.
Who am I (or anyone else) to pick for CLOUD? That's *his choice* without player interjection. Once Cloud regains his true self, you DON'T get to chose for him any longer. He was NEVER a puppet.
During the last night before the fight with Sephiroth, he tells the entire crew to go visit their loved ones. Cloud doesn't go and visit the Forgotten City or the Church in the Slums. Cloud and Tifa both choose to remain onboard.
There's 2 reasons for this. One, they had no where else to go. Two, they just discovered each other again.
And under the Highwind, _Cloud_ confirms his mutual romantic feelings with Tifa. Again, that's from the GAME, not me!
Their mutual love for each other needs to unfold as the story progresses so the developers CAN'T openly give that away. It's a BIG part of the life stream event. Ultimately the CHOICE always belonged to Cloud, not us... the player.
FF7 isn't a dating sim.
As far as Remake goes... Aerith is super important, like the Goddess to Cloud, to Tifa, to the entire damn planet and everyone else and their mom. She is the reason why we have FF7 and FF7R! Hopefully later on... she and Zack gets reunited in life... NOT tragically in death as before. They have the best romantic connection out of any FF couple, bar none.
Cloud and Tifa's romantic connection is meant to be low key and displayed through cryptic means. If you reveal Tifa's past then it also reveals Cloud's past. They are a double edge sword. The developers can't afford do that in the storyline thus far.
And last but not least, you say that Tifa is his platonic friend... Truthfully, I don't think you want to see it as anything more than that. I can list all the times they "touched" each other and stared at each other with gifs and videos. Are you brave enough to witness it as romantic? I highly doubt it. Can't help you.

this video touched my soul, I can't even express how beautiful it is, but it perfectly represents the relationship of both.
Cloud x aerith is the kind of relationship that makes your skin stand on end, makes you smile, and makes you cry. As a player I always had her in my team with the best magic materials and summons even with more PG and PM than cloud, when she died, I cried a lot and I couldn't find a replacement for her in another character, not even tifa, in some way, the game was not the same whit out aerith, (At least for me). I felt like cloud in AC ☹️😔In this remake it will be worse 🤧

You're God Damn Right. This video is just absolutely, beautifully, wonderfully perfect. There's just so much emotion in this video. The song and all of the special dialogue from Cloud and Aerith, and every single special moment they both shared together. I especially loved the ending where Cloud asked if he got a say in loving Aerith or not and it shows Aerith's vulnerable side (making us think that Cloud is looking into her head and seeing just how hurt she really is), leading Cloud to make his final decision and promise Aerith that he going to come save her no matter what, making Aerith both scared but ultimately happy.

She says that because she knows she’s gonna die, and therefore is not wanting Cloud to get hurt as much by falling for her. Also her second part that you conveniently leave out, has her tell Cloud that whatever he may feel for her isn’t real. No doubt because of the Zack thing. The remake has even brought him back, so it’s clear he’ll Titanic Clerith.
The remake is clearly pushing for Cloti, it’s obvious. Starting with the fact they’ve brought Zack back, which will definitely have an affect on any relationship between Cloud and Aerith.
From being unable to leave without getting the flower at the beginning, to now not having the option to give it to Marlene or Tifa, and the fact Aerith specifically says lovers used to give them to one another. All different to the OG.
The bar scene with Cloud calling Tifa beautiful. He didn’t look at his drink when he said it, nor did he taste it yet so it’s clearly about her. And it makes her blush/bite her lip.
Then there’s Marle insinuating that Cloud and Tifa are closer than the rest, especially her comment after they make date plans. Not to mention her frequent nagging of him both in the main game and the Yuffie dlc imply it’s personal to her, and can only be because of how Marle views Tifa as a granddaughter. Otherwise why be so invested in one of your “granddaughters” friends, of which she has many, mostly men.
Also there’s the train scene, that can have the pair jump together and have a little moment. In the original Tifa jumps herself no matter what if I recall.
I even think Aerith is pushing them together a little, with her teasing him about Tifa, or her telling Sam they’re gonna save Tifa from a life without Cloud. And though it’s a mistranslation from the Japanese one, but Aerith making Tifa jealous in the ghost rail yard is in my headcanon her way of getting her to open up more about her feelings.

I dnt ship animated drawing nor any frm animated/cartoon film/series that only fictionalize and hard to imagine-For some reason I only do that to a real actors in their role either came frm(series-movies-books) . But in this case its different ofc its different bcoz its a game moreof RPG and I felt inlove the1st time I see them they're like ACTORS in my eyes probably bcoz its a 3d The graphic motion and I can even fantasize more compare to a flat drawing with colors😁...btw I knew CLERITH so well and I could tell that somehow this two either FMVorGMV u called it their chemistry are somewhat real life character that depicts In every film/series LOVERS you've watched.
@@Bellarose36 yass yass, really I'm on Animated 3D-AI type than animated cartoon type , Bcoz 3D-AI are somewhat close to a Factual , And it's a weird for me if I ship both anime cartoon drawing like example Sasuke and Sakura even tho they are popular and I also loved them as pairing but I dnt fantasize them as what I did to ff7r and other 3d characters. And I've doubt I would ship aerith and cloud even if I saw a CC movie nor OG coz it's still animated cartoon(lucky for me I witness such beautiful NEW 3D version that I can look-up and admired now).
