Saranga Dariya (the one with the doctor actress as you said, her name is Sai Pallavi) is actually originally a Telugu folk song (Telugu is a South Indian language) recorded for a movie, so I think you might be interested to see it! It would be a different experience.
The song is very loved, I remember two people danced its choreo during my cousin’s wedding Sangeet (one of the events of the wedding where the two families of the people getting married each prepare a BUNCH of dance performances, and basically have a friendly competition “dance-off”, it’s so much fun! At the end we had a free for all dance floor where everyone was just going crazy together incl all the aunts and uncles lol. I know you’ve said you’re curious about Indian weddings, so I wanted to share a little haha)

Many average Tseries songs (many, not all) get views coz they r put as advt on youtube. Very few ppl actually go, search n listen to these songs. I think a better judge wud b to look at the likes rather than views (forced on ppl).

Nah the number 1's hype wasn't a movie or sumn, the first part of that song blew up crazy and reached a billion views really fast so the part 2 was very much awaited and like very anticipated so yeah it did crazy numbers when the part 2 came out and broke many indian yt records

Just FYI, I've noticed in more than a few videos of yours; Indians never use the Hispanic pronunciation of the letters J or Y. We uses it phonetically. J is pronounced with the hard Jay song and Y is pronounced like you would pronounce the Y in Yogurt? So Yo Yo Honey Singh his name is like the toy Yoyo? That's how you say his name. You should definitely check out "DaFa Kar" song by "A.R Rahman" sir from the movie "Heropanti 2" ... It is released two days ago... A very fresh song and a peppy dance number and Bass Guitar, trumpet, Drums, Electronic Guitar and Piano too has been used in this song. Every instrument is used perfectly.

You should definitely start with "Yad Lagla.." from movie Sairat..
These could unfortunately be paid per view songs churned out by music companies these days which is on the rise. These compilation of songs are independent music videos, songs from films remakes of older original hit songs among others. The songs these days by the same artists sometimes also feels and sounds the same, there could only be a change or two in the beat or the music. Originality is by a handful.
The thing is good and meaningful songs take time but when they catch up , they do get their deserving views that is in the case of Arijit, KK etc. Their songs have rewatch value, the type of songs for which u will come back after years
And mostly their songs have real organic views unlike most guru, jubin, Neha songs

most of the songs are here because of Tiktok/reels/memes or some actors started a specific dance challenge... the first two songs are here because after filhall there's a freaking hype for the story of filhall2...
there is female version of "pachtoage" too , with fantastic choreography you can react to that.

So more than half them were just music videos and the others were movie songs. But you are right, movie industry is a major part in the indian music industry.
Yt views doesn't mean that the song is actually popular. It's a wrong way to judge popularity bcz india has different regions where one song might be popular in one region but is unheard of in another region. Mostly these songs have higher views due to the hindi heartland population. Even comparing to the population that speaks the same language these songs have way less views. Moreover, songs produced by t-series have more views cuz they play those in ads. So don't judge that these are what the majority of indians like. I remember the songs which u liked were meme material and were trolled endlessly when they got released. That's y it has so many views. India also has 9 yt trending pages according to the region. So you end up watching only songs from one region.

He released this song after his one roasted "CZcams vs TIKTOK THE END " video got deleted by youtube ,the video had over 10 Million likes and over 60 million views in 2-3 days and was deleted within 4 days after uploading.
