Loading The Old Freightliner - THE HARD WAY!

  • It's all fun and games 'til someone loses a fuel tank. I don't know if this truck had locking diff's or if they were just not able to engage them, but having the rear axles locked-up probably would've saved a lot of headaches this day. I don't know if this truck rolled to the show on this trailer or not, but it looks to me, had everything gone smoothly, that it would've scraped the tanks on the transition from the ramp to the deck anyway. Luckily the bad decision to charge the ramp when there are literally just inches of room for error didn't prove fatal to the driver or that cool old 1971 White/Freightliner cab-over. One smart decision was made there though, notice how the nice polished reefer was moved forward out of the danger zone before all the real drama started. Shot at Truckin' For Kids in Irwindale, California on Sunday October 6th, 2013.

    • @jamiehall7574
      @jamiehall7574 Před 3 lety +1

      The rear axle does have power I see the tires trying to turn but it's limited slip so it goes from the wheels that slip to the wheels that grip. If they just would have turned around and backed it on it would have been a whole bunch easier for everybody. And the fact that he kept hitting the ramp in the same granny low gave the truck no momentum at all if you would have backed up a little further and use first or second gear and got some momentum up it would have shot up on the trailer no problem. These guys are just a bunch of tools not a brain cell between the twelve of them however many were there. LOL

    You think after the first 20 times of it not working, you would think of maybe changing it up. But nope, I think just 20 more times will do the trick!

    I'm laughing but this is so sad. Neither of these guys even know how to drive a truck and should not even be around them. Both these guys think they are trying to impress someone by gunning their engines and popping clutches. I was hoping that Mexico bound cabover would've fell completely off the trailer and landed on it's side. That would've been gut busting funny. I don't have to say more because for those of us in this business, you already know what I'm thinking.

    Dump the air out of the rear bags, the suspension will have more travel to keep grip on the drives.....Oh,..... that's right... it's an old junk Kidney Killer Peterworth. It's leaking fuel, just light a match and wait a few hours, scoop the ashes into a dumpster and you've done the environment a favor! 😂👍
    I drove several of these POS cabovers for 15 years hauling Hay from Eastern Washington to Seattle area, now kidneys and lower back are a mess, Good Riddens!

    Everyone is saying reverse onto it.
    1 - wrong weight distribution
    2 - will most likely end up in the same situation backwards..
    He can simply apply the brakes lightly to stop the wheels in the air from spinning sending all the power to the wheels on the ground, causing him to drive up normally with no issues, if it was a newer truck it would have EBS and (Electronic Braking system) and would automatically do the braking for you and would drive up normally

    Load it like the ancient Egyptians did the big stones on the pyramid. Have a ufo fly over with anti gravity technology shoot a beam onto the truck and lift it onto the trailer. No chains or forklifts required.

  • @apotheosis2624
    @apotheosis2624 Před 4 lety +44

    So let me get this straight. The whole time, it could of been pulled with a chain, and a help with a forklift at the rear end, but instead, you guys just decided "Hey, lets try charging it up there a few times, even though it hasn't worked the first 2."

    Freightliner looked like a rare model. Couldnt they back it up the trailer or get a big truck to push for support?

    • @richardmaurer9002
      @richardmaurer9002 Před 3 lety

      Backing on won’t work either. As stated above, no one knows how to use the power divider. Soon as the back axle gets high enough on the ramp, it will lift the front axle clear of the ground, and all of the power will go to the front axle via the unlocked power divider.
