It’s mad - my wife and I spent 3 months in Japan in 2018, and probably the best meal we had was from a tiny udon shop in Fukuoka that was tucked away in an alley behind a pachinko parlour.
I love how this channel is just showing random places instead of crazy popular tourist restaurants. That's how it was a lot of the time when I was in Japan. You just wander around until you're hungry and then stumble into the nearest restaurant. It's the authentic gaijin experience.
*"I didn't want this meal to end"* Japaneat is just like us fr fr 😭😭🤣 Guess it's Japan being Japan, they always queue whenever there's a line. They don't want to miss on something that they don't even know

Japan really is a strange place. Where none of it should work, but it just does. Any hole in the wall place you go to just has amazing food. Easily my favorite place I've ever been. Can't wait to go back sometime next year!
I will never forget that time I stumbled upon a random bright yellow fried chicken food truck in Japan. I wasn't hungry, so I ordered a small and regretted it. I was never able to find it again and will die with this regret one day
rule of thumb almost always go to the place next to the popular place 9 times out of 10 it’s better then the popular place especially if the popular place is some instagram influencer type of place never go to the popular and overly expensive place
The key to good alleyway food in cities is to make sure the restaurant looks like it's been in that alleyway for a while. If it's successful in that location, it has to be damn good. If it's some fancy shiny new place, it's a dice roll. Probably someone looking for cheap rent, could be good, could be garbo.
I love that is happened to be a super sleek looking bistro that I would pass with the assumption it would be sub par, I guess you have to take the leap of faith
Man even food from the middle of an alleyway is delicious in Japan
Tbh that's where the best food in any place is, never the popular busy streets but the small ones in neighborhoods or just outside of downtown areas.

If the business survives in a dark alley that's all hidden, people are going there for a reason, not because it's in a "c0nVeNiEnT l0cAti0n".
@@Blandalorian Could you and your wife talk to each other in normal voices, or did you have to shout? Lol
@@Blandalorianyou got address for that? Wish to try that too
I love this man’s humor so much 😭
What do you mean humor 😔
This is a broken man with no more Gyukatsu :'C
@@blokvader8283extremely sad
Comment and replies are very this channel and they all make me happy. Just thought I'd say so
I like the beginning when he says there’s not a better piece of food on this planet, and then I drop it, nice work lol 😂
What humor lol

I was in Japan a while ago and I saw that so often 😂
I wasn't gonna wait so I just found random alley places and they were so good
Bistro On y va(オニバ)
Hyogo, Kobe, Chuo Ward, Shimoyamatedori, 3 Chome−7, 9KESX102
4 minutes walk from JR Motomachi station in Kobe
The real hero here
It's Mr MVP!
Thanks a bunch!!
Doing God's work. Thanks!
Thank you!
Thr "cry on your way home" after a meal is prolly the best review of a food ever

Strongest endorsement ever ever ever ever ever ever from him.
Then he ends it with "I cried on the train ride home!" I'm crying at my desk, I really want this dish!
Stumble into a random alleyway in America: Get mugged and shanked
Stumble into a random alleyway in Japan: Enjoy the most sumptuous meal of your life
Love your deadpan commentaries along with its deeply emotional and expressive content. In & yo
The place next door with the line is “Tomato Za” an Italian restaurant that serves mostly pasta. I’d take the Gyukatsu any day
PSA: The people waiting in line are waiting for an Italian place next door called Tomato Za which is incredibly mid as our hero expected
“And then I drop it, nice work” 😭
seems like the most random places for food ends up having really good food. i’m jealous of this one
It's really hard to lose the "random awesome food game" in Japan 👍😆
"There's not a more beautiful piece of food in this entire planet, but then i drop it..nice work😶" that one got me.😂
I cried on the train ride home....😢 me thoo
“and then I dropped it”
that was so goddamn funny for no reason.
Gotta try this place next time. Thanks for the find.
“i didn’t want this meal to end” might be the most beautiful compliment you can give
This guys voice is so relaxing 😌 I wish he could narrate some bettime stories for me 😴
Man, your content is brilliant! Enjoying this very much
Ok, THIS looks indisputably phenomenonal. And I say that as a struggling vegetarian

Man that beef looks *perfect*
Looks fucking raw...
@@V-DTAJgood for you? 😂 It isnt and their beef isn't as bad as ours
@@V-DTAJ not even close to raw. You must only have burnt beef to think that medium-well beef is raw.
@@Taijifufu You cant call that medium well. It's very much close to rare.
@@Steve.._. I'm from Germany, our beef quality is superb. Still, if you cook meat, then cook it all the way and don't leave it raw in the middle.
I live in Texas and the beef here NEVER looked this good
Probably the best advice you'll ever receive.. "Go to the spot beside the line." At least in Japan.
i always wonder what the chiefs thoughts are when they see japaneat film. especially the part when the food was accidentally dropped
They most likely domt care

I am in Osaka this weekend and I might just have to go. Thank you JapanEat! You have helped guide me through Japan 😂

Always eat where the locals eat and you're guaranteed to have a good meal.
Dude you put me on to gyukatsu and I thank you for this!
I'm a simple man, but that presentation would still blow me away.

Maybe they weren't waiting in line. Perhaps they too ate the same dish & they couldnt make it home before the food coma started to creep up on them. 😉
This channel always make me want Japanese food
This channel is like a Local Guide to Good Eats, and man if I ever go to Japan am I gonna use this man's channel as a guide. 😋
Japan is the world’s kitchen, and Osaka is Japan’s kitchen. Good food to be had.
I am always at awe on how our japaneat speaks, where does his get all these humorous dialogues while talking😂

Some hidden alley ranch sounds good
"On y va" (the restaurant's name) means "Here we go" in French, and i love this
I literally can't imagine this man yelling like has he ever yelled in his entire life
