- Based on the bestseller by Marion Zimmer Bradley it tells the story of the women behind King Arthur; including his mother, Igraine; his half-sister, Morgaine; his aunt Viviane, the Lady of the Lake; and his wife, Gwenwyfar.
watching this has unlocked a very far away memory in my brain. The music, the whole aesthetic, the face of that actress and her voice... I feel so nostalgic.
Check " Sisters of the mists "
Likely connected due to a past life, or a soul contract or soul connection if it resonates with you or feels familiar.. there are plenty of past life regressionists out there that can assist you with that if you're curious
For many years in meditations I have seen the terror of this time replay in my own distant soul memories. I hear you🙏💖
Hmmm….nostalgic? You do realize the Christian god was NOT recognized for several hundred years. They were all Pagan. But Christianity has to insert itself into everything. Look it up. I’m English, I lived there from birth until 2014.
2020, it's a rainy, cold and silent day. I feel the misty and medieval vibes. Let's watch Mists of Avalon 💙
🖤
The first time I watched Mists of Avalon I was completely captivated by the soundtrack. I bought the CD and have played it so many times over the years. It’s truly a work of art!
So amazing to have seen this. I was a kid and I read the book hearing the movie was coming. And and my best friend thought ourselves little priestesses and we bought the soundtrack from Indigo. I am just finishing the book again- I read it every once in a while and it’s all masterful :)
I will always remember this movie forever! Magical and enchanting!
I will forever owe this film. We watched the first 45 minutes or so of it in my 12th grade English class while doing a unit on the Arthurian legends. The moment at 0:09, when Morgaine is coming ethereally out of the mist with the hushed singing accompanying the shot, that's when something was awakened in my soul, something I hadn't even realized was asleep and couldn't even name at the time. But, to make a long story short, it was my memories of a past life in Avalon and that my spiritual faith now is rooted in eclectic, Wicca-based Paganism. A wonderful film, a fantastic retelling of the classic tales, and an amazing soundtrack, too; this movie also introduced me to Loreena McKennitt's music. Just glorious. Blessed be. )O(
Blessed be!
I felt that way after reading the book in the late 80’s when I was a teenager too. I don’t know about a past life, though I do believe in reincarnation, but I was drawn in by the descriptions of Avalon and it’s religion. I’m 50 now, and finally ready to make that leap. Blessed be.
@@StLProgressive That's wonderful! I felt the call as a teen, too, but I kept putting off answering it until my late 20s, and I'm 33 now. So glad you're ready to make the leap! Welcome to the craft and blessed be on your journey!
Thank you for sharing this! I have a similar feeling, I can trace a lot back to here and the book ♥️
I hear you sister❤
This is my stepmother's favorite film and I remembered watching it with her when I was twelve and it was long but the story was so entertaining. I think it's what made me fall in love with medieval stories aside more.
Wonderfull, magical movie. The music in the beginning is from Loreena McKennit: The Mystic's Dream!
I recognized it immediately - thank you!!
(because it was familiar, I just assumed it was Enya 😅)
I remember seeing this for the first time on TNT in the summer of 2001.
Thank you. I saw it on TNT as well. It's been so long I forgot the year
@@scorpiotransformed4772 it was a few months before I turned 13.
Same. I always remembered this film. First time Michael Vartan came on my radar!

I got mine on Ebay, Amazon should also have it:)
It breaks my heart what Zimmer Bradley did to her kids, because I truly loved her books, but now I feel like reading them and watching this movie would mean I'm excusing what she and her husband did.
What did she do?
@@ffelegal Google it.
WHY IS THIS MOVIE NOT STREAMING ANYWHERE?????
The book is so good
It's a Wicked retelling of an old story :)
Wicked as in well crafted evil. Look up daughter Moira Greyland's memoir, _The Last closet; The Dark Side of Avalon_
@@robertlehnert4148 I was making a reference to the musical Wicked which was a retelling of the much older Wizard of Oz.
Best Movie I have ever Seem on the Mystery - Exempt from all conventional Criticism - SO MOTE IT BE! Abter Dictum Est

LOVE this move, had it on VHS, so where can i stream the hole move today!?! Never found it on DVD/ Nina
It needs to be rewritten for a film and needs an all British/European cast!
YES!
I'm so waiting for this!😪 Could have some GoT epicness to it.
@@user-oe2wk5nu9sthere's a gay romance between Lancelot and Arthur , abortion, paganism. It's pretty woke already lol

THIS IS STILL SO ALIVE....
well I found this music today while doing test and tagging at the Salvo's store in Brisbane so wrote the title down and hear we are didn't realize it was a movie?
It was foreseen, that the saxons reign about Britain and not the romans
2021 here 💖
dude, this is cool

THIS NEEDS TO BE A HOLLYWOOD MOVIE. The timing is right. Audiences need to hear the story from a different perspective --- maybe outside of the patriarchy is the best perspective now.
Why? One could argue that "patriarchy" is nature's norm. Of the 76 existing non-human mammal species that exhibit leadership, only 7 have females that take charge during conflict, foraging or migration. One could conversely argue that "male" and "female" compliment each other, and that we don't need patriarchy OR matriarchy, but balance and respect for both.
Yeah if you want them to place it in Northern Africa.
Man you couldn't sound anymore feminine could you

I’m still waiting for someone to make a good adaptation of this novel. I loved this book when I was a young woman. This version was pretty trash. I couldn’t even get through it.
saxons did not ride horses in battle /// there are far better books on the Arthur tale, VOICES OF THE STARS by Rowena Whaling and THE WARLORD CHRONICLES by Bernard Cornwell. "MISTS" was full of anachronisms and just wrong use of terms and words. like using 'castle' and 'knight'- terms not used till much later. Place names having Britons using saxon names like Glastonbury, and referring to Gwynhyfar as 'the Queen of England". not even the saxons were using the word england yet
*eye roll* And Arthur himself likely did not exist, but is instead a composite of various 5th century chieftains. For goodness sake, it's a work of fiction. Settle down and enjoy the book.
Bless Bernard Cornwell
I read this novel before I moved to Glastonbury ! This is British history ! And British spirituality ! Not American ?! Yours is the Native Red Indian !
Claire Peace yeah it’s annoying to hear Americans doing English accents
@@saysHotdogs It's annoying when you guys bitch about it.
