- Step by step teardown and reassembly of the Nerf Rival Hades.
With similar internals to the Rival Artemis, a length of K26 spring can be used (12 coils; same as the Kronos K26 upgrade) to increase the velocity from an average 90fps out of the box to an average 115fps.

Thanks for the guide. I opened up my Kronos and moved my Outofdarts K26 into the Hades. Took a couple try’s because I didn’t have the gears at the extreme ends of their tracks before reassembly. Side note: I put the Hades spring into my Kronos and I’m getting noticeably improved performance, not K26 velocity but kind of a middle ground.
Thank you for making this video. The Hades is definitely more involved than most with the multiple internal mags, rotatating barrel, and gear assisted prime. I noticed that the safety often falls down and makes the trigger pull rather sticky, so when I swap out the spring I will just remove it all together.
It was really great to meet and talk with you at Ragnarocktoberfest! Keep up the great work, hope to see you again sometime!
Best Hades mod video out there. Followed it and it was fantastic.
Could have been better with regards to some of the technicals, but glad to hear it's still helpful.
I found my Hades at a Barnes & Noble (Bookstore) out of all places
Yo same, only place I could find it at a reasonable price
A library nerf war would be fun
I just did this mod, but now it';s often misfiring.. like theres a ball in the chamber but it doesnt fire it. it just makes a clang like it dry fired. something wrong with the air seal? it primes just fine.
You may have left something out. Generally, the only problem when reassembling the Hades, is the guides slip the "track" on the barrel cylinder, locking up the blaster (can be cranked back in place with a bit of muscle if you don't want to disassemble/reassemble again).
If the cylinder cycles like normal, but there's no air pressure being delivered, the plunger tube system probably wasn't reassembled correctly. The air delivery system itself is simpler than the advancing mechanism. You should feel a slight puff of air coming from the firing cylinder on a dry fire.
Its been five years I know but I had the same issue
Like Daniel said, it was the plunger tube system. My rubber o-ring was a particularly loose one that would slide off the thing under the stress of my new spring.
Spraying WD40 inside the plunger tube seemed to have done the trick, the o-ring no longer gets caught on the walls of the plunger system (and i dont think its as loud either, though that might be because it was super loud when the o ring was out of place and i was fiddling)
EDIT 3/27/24: The WD40 was only a temporary fix, I ended up buying a replacement o-ring and we'll see if this is a permanent fix
How do i get a modified air restricter remover? Also where do i find the new pump handle? I don’t have a 3d printer
Is there a place online that sells the grip?

Don't know if Tungsten offers print services, but his adapter is compatible with most picatinny rail based grips.
I got it for $30 so yeah
That’s because it clicks twice for the safety
Got mine for $40
The hadis at my local wallmart right now is $15 sooooooo yeah
Thats it I need to check it out.
@@watertakken if you want to drive to Smithville TN go right ahead
Do we need to change the inner part with steel one? Somebody told me that we need to change it otherwise it will broken because it can't handle the power of 15kg coil?
Didn't have any problems using a K26 spring. Couldn't comment on anything heavier than that.
How's the accuracy? My 15kg artemis has pretty bad accuracy.
Typical stock Rival accuracy. Generally reasonable out to about 50 feet, with some variances from ball to ball that's entirely related to the HIRs themselves. Doesn't hurt the accuracy.
@@greenmedic88 that's strange. My artemis is shooting curve balls while my 10kg kronos shoots lasers, 15kg kronos shoots curve balls, and 13kg helios shoots lasers.
@@Kuli24000 i have a containment crew kronos spring that is very consistently shooting lasers, while my hypnos and hades seem to pump out lots of curve balls. I'd love to know what is causing the general side spin as they come out of the barrel so i could adjust them.
@@jnelly814 I took the hop up tab (or whatever it's called) out of my Kronos, and switched it with the one in my Hypnos. Hypnos now shoots "lasers", and my Kronos shoots some curves.
Where can I get that air restrictor removal piece?
I can upload it to Thingiverse and add a link to the video, but it has to be printed with a flex filament, or it will eventually break, and second, I didn't notice any significant change in velocity, with or without the restrictor replacement piece.
But in the video you said it increased it some 20 FPS? Or did you mean outright removing the AR?
That's from the K26 spring replacement.
Ooh I see now. I re-listened to it and heard that the significant gain in AR removal was in the Kronos, not the Hades. My bad!
I need help. I did this upgrade, It worked fine but, the when I tested the de-prime it locked up. I took it apart again. I tried a longer K26, 14 coils is too much. It won't catch. I went back to the 12 coil K26. Put it back together but, now the balls basically travel about 10 ft. I have no idea what the problem is? Please, do you have any ideas?
Without seeing inside, it's impossible to say, but unless something was broken by being forced into place or assembled incorrectly, the gear and gear rack could simply be out of alignment, reducing the full priming stroke. Take it apart and reassemble it; check stills of the internals to see that everything is in the right place. Make sure that the priming gears are at the end of the gear rack.
Incidentally, the plunger system should be able to accommodate more than 12 coils if assembled correctly.
I just got it back together and it's working fine now. I'm not gonna try the de-prime. It's a nice upgrade since my Hades was primed from the factory. Thanks so much for the advice and quick response!
I tried the 14 coil spring again and it goes in. Everything goes back together except for when I put the barrels back in. It's weird and hard to explain but, the extra tension does something and the barrels don't fit right. I could get the whole blaster together the same but, I couldn't get it to pull back far enough to catch and prime.
That probably means the plunger "cup" can't accommodate the entire length of the compressed spring. I don't think every sample is exactly the same due to tolerances allowed in manufacturing, but yours may only accommodate 13.5 coils, maybe 13. Probably only worth experimenting with if you just get a kick out of playing with these kinds of things as I can't realistically see there being much more than 5-10fps difference at best.
Yea, I'm kinda happy with where it's at. Even if I got more coils in there it's probably just gonna make it more inaccurate. It's performing better than it ever has and that was the goal!
