@jordanpollard6493 This isn’t necessarily alcoholism, older people metabolize alcohol at a much slower rate so fewer drinks gets them more screwed up. I’ve seen an elderly woman hardly able to walk after having a single cocktail. Alcohol hits harder when you’re older.

I don’t think you’re giving Mom enough credit for her masterful positioning. A novice player with a high heels penalty would have been wiped off the board by Dad’s fall, but she clearly predicted that & set up perfectly to avoid it. Incredible play by Mom.

True story, a man in my town was so drunk he passed out on the side of the road, snowplow went by, didn’t see him and bermed him in, he died, they found him a few days later when snow started to melt.

Yup. Passed out on the ice one time outside our ice fishing hut. Alcohol poisoning kind of drunk lol. "No I'm good, I love the fresh air". Hours later I'm frozen to the core, painfully cold, they wake me up and bring me inside. Thought I was going to die from just shivering.

It's the booze, people go limp and often don't get hurt as badly as a sober person who is aware enough of the situation to tense up and try to save themselves and make everything worse. I actually learned how to do it sober in basketball, our coaches told us to lean into the fall if we got hit or tripped. Trying to fight gravity and wrench yourself back to standing increases the likelihood of a sprain or break. Tripped down 5 cement stairs once, to concrete below, went limp and just had a little bruise from where I hit.

For real man. Perception depression for a long time and there's literally been some days where I've been going through it and an Ozzy man video has turned my entire day around in a 3-minute span. That's no exaggeration. Ozzy man is a gift from God for all to enjoy and help us forget about life for a while. I've never met him and I never will but he's literally one of my favorite people on planet earth. And this video in particular is one of the funniest ones I've ever seen and I'm pretty sure I've seen all of them. @@onlyprottoy6994 trust me man it's not a choice... I try I really do. I'm not saying I'm a miserable person every day. Just a regular dude who has good days and bad days...but yes depression has definitely impacted my life. It comes and goes sometimes it's really really really strong sometimes I feel perfectly normal. But when it's strong it's the worst feeling imaginable and I can't even put into words how bad it is. I wouldn't wish it on anybody. It's the absolute worst. And I know you meant the best with your words but telling a depressed person to be happy is pointless. But I do really appreciate the sentiment because I know what you meant. I'm just letting you know in case you have to deal with somebody close to you who has depression try not to say things like just be happy. It's not that simple and if we could just be happy we would. Anybody who has suffered from depression knows it's not a choice.
