Kenya 🇰🇪 is unique and diverse. Probably it's the only country in the world where you can get a combination of white coastal beaches, desert life, tropical and rainforest, snow mountain, savannah, wildlife, diverse cultures, Valleys , historical sites , warmest people etc. Karibu Kenya..
They're also present in Nigeria. One love💗
Excluding Nigeria (My country), Kenya is my 2nd favourite country in Africa after Ghana, love me some Kenya people 🇰🇪 🇳🇬

Me as native from Lesotho, I know M-Pesa. But I never knew it was made from KENYA!?!? I learn something everyday🤣🤣🤣🤣
There are few places on earth where mobile payments are made constantly than Kenya. People accept Mpesa for everything, you will have a hard time surviving without it in Kenya. Its transitioning to a cashless society at a rapid rate.
Pesa means money or cash in Swahili, hence the name.
@@ericmwash6183 mpesa is Kenya and it’s the most popular in the whole world
And more to come
Yes its a Kenyan invention!! KENYA is the big dog in digital banking...
All East African countries are very close. Kenya, uganda and Tanzania. Some of the tribes over lap as well.
Love Kenya! We have a similar thing to Chama/Table Banking in the Caribbean called, a "Partner" or "Pardna" in patwah. Basically very tiny version of a community bank or credit union where we all put the same amount together then each week a different person gets the full amount. One person is typically the main banker and incharge of keeping records and punishing delinquent people.💛💚🖤
Love this!
That's exactly how Chamas work in Kenya
Table banking is different from Chamas. What @isomariowierdo, explained is how chamas are done here in Kenya. Table banking is kind of what the video explained.
There's a difference between chama and Table banking. Table banking is where people will decide who is most deserving to get the money on a pre-determined period basis. In chamas, is like saving money for a rainny day for one of your members. So it's never a question of who is most deserving depending on what they want to do with the money, but instead it's more of a friendship thing to help your friend(s) when in time of need. Which is why chamas have very few people because they have to be very close-knit, to the extent that I wouldn't feel comfortable with not helping one of the members if they are in need. Table banking sounds more corporate-like in that the person who gets the money is based on merit. In chamas, if someone needs the money it's usually for something dire and necessary, and not on a pre-determined time period like you've said 'every week'. It's like a friends saving scheme in case anything happens to one of us, or someone close to us eg. Someone needing a surgery, or has been deceased and cannot afford funeral costs, etc
Need to test my software there
A massive appreciation to the guy who made the video about Kenya. He got everything spot on 👌🏽
I'm kenyan, and I love your videos. I'd like to see you guys reacting to our national anthem, both in Swahili or in English 🙂
I'm also Kenyan they are good vibes here
Hey family iam back!!😝😝♥️🔥The Proud South African Zulu Girl🇿🇦🇿🇦Marking the register✅✅✅🙋♀️
Hey love!
Mpesa is unique,it's an electronic money transfer system invented by a Kenyan. So mostly people in Kenya don't carry money to pay for things in wallet's,they pay for almost everything using mpesa, it's an app on a phone & that's been here in Kenya for almost twenty years now.
But this government is making M-pesa impossibly expensive with all the taxes. I was cashless, but I'm going back to cash.
I'm glad you reacted to my suggestion. I knew you'd love Kenya, it's been receiving the most tourists from USA💪😌
the termites tend to come out during the rainy season. They're delicious when you get over the fact that they're bugs. Some eat them raw, but they taste good sauted in oil.
Very delicious those kumbikumbi
Kenya one of my favorite countries no cap
I served under the Batuk in kenya nyanyuki town..amazing country sharp minds my retirement home is kenya.
karibu bro 🙏
Nyanyuki typical Nanyukian n Kenyan 😅🥰
The Lion King was based on Kenya's Hell's Gate game reserve 😅
Yes the pride rock
Good analysis! I'm a Kenyan from the Coast and have never eaten insects; it's mainly consumed in Western Kenya, I believe. I would also like to taste it when I'm in Kenya. Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda are one people. The majority of them have families, friends, and relatives in all of these three countries. Welcome to Kenya.
Thanks for the welcome!
People in western Kenya don’t even eat that
similar to some tribe in eastern Indonesia who consume ants, grasshopper, and the likes but never consumed in any other part of Indonesia. Or the fact that some part of Balinese (on Bali Island) also consume some lizard (mainly monitor lizard), turtle, crocodile, etc.
not ants, but termites. They come out after rain and alaas, we consume them badly
Not ants though.. Grasshopper, termites and locusts... In Mt Kenya region we do eat termites... Always looked forward to the rainy season coz of that
This guy knows more Kenyan history than i do ! Kudos
Am from Uganda 🇺🇬 we cool with Kenyan so far No problems for ever since. (Akuna Matata)
Proud Kenyan from Maryland. Let me know when you want to visit ill take you places ❤
Will do, fam! Thank you!
kenya uganda and tanzania were all under the east African community(EAC) but it collapsed in 1977 now the EAC is a trade block with member states being Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, south Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi and the DRC

The termites are not common. Mostly consumed in the western region of Kenya during the rainy season.
11:57 the reason there is a lot of similarities between the Nations around East Africa is because our borders were drawn up by Colonialists (the policy was divide and rule). Before this our people lived and expanded their tribal kingdoms anywhere and everywhere within the region. Ps Love your channel
Yup and they divided the Maasai tribe into Kenyan Maasais and Tanzanian Maasais, they also sliced through some villages between Kenya and Uganda dividing them to two different tribes. Word has it that Queen Victoria gave Mount Kilimanjaro to her grandson as a gift while he ruled Tanganyika (Tanzania) thus determining where the new borders were between the two countries. Shame on these people!
Sililarities is majorly because after independence there was an agreement of a federation of east africa that operated as one country but unfortunately it broke and each country became individual countries. Besides that, border demacation divided tribes into different countries: the LUOS were divided into sects found in KENYA, TANZANIA, UGANDA, SOUTH SUDAN, ETHIOPIA, AND CONGO: MAASAI found in KENYA & TANZANIA: TAITA TAVETA found in KENYA & TANZANIA: SWAHILI PEOPLE found in KENYA & TANZANIA: KALENJIN (a collection of subtribes speaking related language) found in KENYA AND UGANDA: KURIA found in KENYA & TANZANIA: TESO found in KENYA & UGANDA: KARAMANJONG found in KENYA & UGANDA: OROMO foind in KENYA & Ethiopia: SOMALI found in KENYA & SOMALIA: GISU found in kenya & UGANDA. And many more..... From this, you can see a clear relationship with all east african countries with KENYA being a melting point in them.
Most welcome to my country Kenya 🇰🇪.
Mekenze in Kenya an USA Born Lady from Utah, married to a Kenyan Guy, they live here with their 3 kids, moved from the USA to Kenya. They have a tours and travel company here in Kenya they would be the best to take you to beautiful places here in Kenya.
We love visitors, you are most welcome.
Kenyan here. The tribes intermarry alot in Kenya or East Africa as well. (Uganda x Tanzania) My parents are from different tribes.
Kenya n Tanzania share like 10 tribes mostly those who live close to the border regions.
East Africa was actually one territory until colonialism claimed specific areas and became separate states. we are related and have intermarried for generations.
Am kenyan and I love his description of my country😋😋.. a little correction though....lake Turkana is mildly alkaline and actually has fresh water fish ..... 🇰🇪
Time was short but there is more they would have covered, our white sandy beaches(especially Watamu & Diani) , our Swahili cuisine that is heavily influenced by Arabs and Indians, our geography too from Mt. Kenya to the coast, to chalbi desert with its magnificent sand dunes to the highlands of Western Kenya, to the Lamu archipelago where Kiswahili was born and has the Lamu town that is a UNESCo heritage site. Kenya has alot to offer.
For the Tanzania and Kenya thing, all i can say is back in the day Africa never had boundaries, usually people moved, migrated and settled in tribes, that why you'd find most Kikuyus in Mt Kenya region, Luos around lake victoria etc. The colonialist are the ones who came and formed boundaries hence where it caught you is where your gonna be. Im a Luo myself and there are Luos in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and it even goes as far as Congo but of course over time changes happen within each, maybe thats why africa has so many different tribes with core similarities.
I am Kenyan I have never eaten grasshopers futhermore all foods named above are wrong.Thankyou for your positivity.
No they are not...
I am from 🇰🇪 , there was a time there was a lion on the loose in the capital, but no one got hurt
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. @Demouchets for all your reactions and your (virtual) journey through the world!
Here in Kenya and as an African, I know I'm not alone on this channel in appreciating it the most when you find out about our Mother Land!
Although this 'Geography Now!' video is a little out of date -- e.g. Kenya's population is now 52-55 million people as of 2021/2022 -- it's not bad at all. Thanks for taking the time to learn about our country!
I really hope you get to visit Kenya and the Continent as a whole! Meanwhile, I'll keep praying for your success and enjoying your content, guys! Much appreciated!
That's a good review of Kenya. Most of the facts are correct. It's however like how Kenya was 7 years ago. Today, Kenya is much bigger and more developed. If you visited Kenya with only this video as a reference, you will be surprised.
7:50 some of those foods are eaten in the rural areas you won't find them in the city.
Welcome to Kenya 🇰🇪. We love visitors. We don't eat insects. Only some people from western Kenya who eat termites when it rains. There's so much to learn about Kenya 🇰🇪
Hey, termites are eaten everywhere even Nairobi. Explore and see...
Right nowdue to the rain season, termites are a delicacy in almost every part of Kenya.
Nothing wrong with eating insects. Westerners eat snails, frogs and sea insects like lobsters and shrimps.... Ours are less gross, hehe
Even fish eggs (caviar), like... Weren't chicken eggs enough?
I also eat termites
Nothing wrong with eating ants or termites different countries eat different weird stuff.
Check out a channel called Twende ( which is Swahili that means Let's go) it shows the beauties and gems of Kenya.. you'll love it
As a Kenyan🇰🇪 thank you ❤️for sharing this content
For your question on tribes, id say in a way it depends in which family your born in but usually most tend to stick to culture obviously not strictly but the major steps have to be followed. The rites of passage such as baby naming, initiation(circumsision), weddings and burials have to adhere to tradition always.
I have never eaten an insect lol.... but when you visit you'll definitely drink tea, eat chapatis, ugali and fish and omg pilau..
Tanzania and us definitely have similarities and its that some tribes can be found in both kenya and tanzania and the fact that we all speak Kiswahili.... other than that nothing really. Were just all east African...
Kenyan is super diverse such that;
Kenyanpresident is Nilote from kush kingdom
Kenyan d. President is Gikuyu from Bantu kingdom
Kenyan minister of diffence is Somali from Nubian kingdom
Some things were inaccurate or outdated but overall a good analysis of Kenya. Like some of the food I’ve never heard of it. The pictures of the tribes are also wrong sometimes.
Love your content please review "what Africans think about each other" it's very insightful. God bless and one 💕
Lemme subscribe....you guys prop our country a lot 🙌🏾
Kenya and Tanzania are neighbours and speak the same national language of Kiswahili.
Don't forget our neighbors of UG too we're 3 in 1 🇰🇪🇹🇿🇺🇬🙏🙏
@@susanmachayo8845 You are somewhat right in the sense that some Ugandans speak Kiswahili, majority of Ugandans don't speak it as their national Language. Infact, there are more people in Eastern DR Congo and some parts of Rwanda that speak Kiswahili than people in Uganda.
let me subscribe i love the way you people promote our country Kenya, much love
Much love! Welcome to the family!
We appreciate your channel. Diplomatic,honest,wise,wise,wise!!
I love the reaction🇰🇪🔥🔥🦁🦁🔥🦁
The termites are dry fried. Very tasty. You should try it. Tis taken more like a snack during the rainy when the termites fly out in plenty
11:45 we are both in the East African Community (EAC) we share a lot in common, like tribes.

Kenya we indeed blessed,
And we are very friendly and very social, karibuni(welcome)to the city under the 🌞
I enjoyed the video.
You need to search about the coastal beaches of kenya from Diani, watamu and Malindi
East African countries share so many tribes who live at the colonial borders eg
Luhya, Luos and Teso are found both in Uganda and Kenya.
Luos,Kuria, maasai and Taveta, mijikenda are found in Kenya and Tanzania.
Somalis are found in Kenya Ethiopia and somalia
Orma are found in Kenya and Ethiopia
Great content
Come and experience the peace and groove of kenya
Im a proud Kenyan here... welcome to my country
to your question on Kenya & Tanzania once being one...
Short version of the story: During the 1960s-70s (for the most part) African nations successfully won their independence from colonial (Western) powers. The leaders of African countries/nations came together in the pre-cursor to the modern day African Union and agreed that, despite the geopolitical borders forced on us during 'The Scramble for Africa', which we successfully defeated -- but which doesn't mean we were/are free from meddling and interference by former colonialists -- we would keep the borders as they are (apart from in recent times South Sudan becoming a sovereign nation seperate from Sudan).
During 'The Scramble for Africa' by imperialist European countries/nations places were randomly assigned to different states i.e. Kenya used to be a 'British protectorate' and Tanzania used to be the equivalent to Germany. In all of this, some tribes were forcibly moved (divided) and sent to foreign lands by brute force, and some tribes suddenly found their people were 'in two different countries'.
So , today, many tribes can be found across the geopolitical boundaries of the countries/nations of Africa.
welcome to Kenya, I can be your guide. Karibu
Proudly Kenyan , Nairobi resident
Loved this video. Am very adventurous when it comes to food, I've eaten all those insect meals, and I loved them, very tasty, finger licking.
i come from Kenya from the Mijikenda Tribe actually they're Nine Tribes of the Mijikenya from the Coastal part of Kenya.. Chonyi, Giriama, Digo, Kambe. Ribe Rabai, Jibana, Duruma, and the Kauma i'm from the Chonyi.. Btw Swahili came as a result of the mix of Arab and the Mijikenda in fact you'll a lot of Swahili word in the Mijikenda tribes. I love Kenya you're able to be you and enjoy life #ThaRemnant254 #Remnant254
Yooh also the Matatu matwana culture you reacted to a year ago is from Kenya
All viewers from other African countries that love Kenya... love you back 💕 ❤️
The stuff about eating ants, giriama living in a sacred forest, and the tibim stuff ain't correct. Thought tea grew in nyeri. Didn't know in kisii too. Thanks for the info
Welcome!
Grasshoppers are cool ( John the Baptist main diet ) and taste similar to shrimp. They are the relish part of a meal.
How did u not mention Eliud kipchoge the Marathon Goat. "Karibuni Kenya" we love visitors.
He actually understood the assignment ...good job
Karibu Kenya!! (welcome to Kenya)
Insects- termites (the winged ones) from my region, are harvested and roasted with salt, winnow out the wings and eat with your ugali
The video is a bit dated though he did a pretty good job. Some of the problems are pretty much a thing of the past. Nairobi and Kenya at large has really grown. Check out some Nairobi videos.
Being Kenyan, there is a lot of new content, infrastructure, industries that has been majorly missed on this. Though the video is extensive, informative and all that, I think you guys should do a more recent unleaded version e.g with the new express way, Nairobi skyline, geothermal industry, real estate, Tech like KONZA CITY,the coast. And don’t get me started on the food 😅 y’all missed to tell a lot of delicacies, not sure about the grasshoppers.
Give an extensive review of just check out the Afrikan Trraveller on CZcams.
I love you video❤ Karbu Kenya
lovely
I love you guys 😅, also please react to geography now Namibia. 😊
Great vid though 😅. Subscribed!
🤣am from Kenya but most things here come as a surprise...l need to travel more
To your question "@11:48, was Kenya and Tanzania once together"... Africa was divided by Europeans during the period of Colonization where they drew boundaries separating land masses and assigning them to their interests. The people were all somewhat together, so you will find border tribes in two or more countries, eg the Nilotic people spread from the North of Sudan, all the way through Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, we have Maasais in Kenya and Tanzania, etc. In fact, one of our past leaderss, (Moodi Awori) was Vice President in Kenya, while his blood brother was a senior minister in Uganda. Kinda cool!!
Finally somebody showing the true Africa
Now kenya is slowly becoming a leader in avocado production
Woop woop! Proud Idakho 🤗
Karibu kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪🥰
EAC keep doing it right? 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Kenya and Tanzania were one long ago in the 17th century but the colonisers created the bounderies
We had no boundaries
