I'd love to see you continue this army actually, it's really rare to see full army projects on youtube
I second this
A combat patrol of the phobos would be really awesome to see, the camo cloaks, and the impulsor all would be interesting to see how you tackle them.
I would like to add in some Phobos stuff.
Phobos equipment seem exactly the type of thing I would expect the Iron Warriors to loot and re-use.
Hmm, a possible conversion idea is there...
I am so impressed with this scheme and keep coming back to look at it time and time again! a real case of less is more - with fewer details and a greater focus on what is there, the miniatures become so much easier to read and far more impressive to behold. Please keep doing what you are doing!
@@thomasheap834 thanks Thomas, I did really enjoy it
I know not everyone thinks the same, but I just enjoy watching you painting and narrating what you're doing and explain how to do it, so I really hope you paint more miniatures, don't even matter what game or universe they are
Thanks César
Love the idea of painting through a box! I would really enjoy seeing how you would tackle something like the Adeptus Mechanicus or Sisters in unusual schemes like this :)
I’ve enjoyed watching this project. It’s good to see some long form tutorials and series type vids on small groups of models. Particularly boxed sets. I think quite often you go and get a box of models and think, ‘I’ll paint this before I get another’, and this encourages and motivates that way of hobbying. It’s definitely useful to have videos on army painting for gaming but I also like this style too. Small scale projects with attention to detail and personality.
Please pick a combat patrol and paint it. I like this style of the viedeo in more parts. Great job like always. greetings from Germany.
The T'au combat patrol might be an interesting one to take on, it's got a mix of unit types and I think it would be interesting to see your style applied to them.
Also I love those beaky heavy intercessors, cool how much of a difference a head swap can make.
Thanks, I really like the beaky heavies too, very tempting to do some more!
Really appreciate you leaving in the bodged lens footage, makes the whole process seem more approachable.
I've never been a fan of the ultramarine paint scheme... until now. I really like the take.
I'm loving these army painting projects, I think these ultras and the votann turned out so cool and really interesting. I'd watch whatever faction you guys want to paint, what really makes it for me is the inspiration and conversions and other little personal touches.
I'm not huge on ultramarines or primaris as a blood angels/flesh tearers player but the way these are painted and modeled alot like 1st born is just stunningly beautiful, the Roman asthetic works so well
Thanks! They were nearly fleshtearers!
There's hardly any full army paintings on CZcams so I've been loving watching you paint yours up
I never really comment on CZcams videos. But yes, it would be amazing for you to do more combat boxes. I enjoy seeing the process and the effort that you put into the models. It has made me a better painter so thank you!
Thanks for making the effort Rory. And thanks for watching!
I really love the finish the oil dot filtering gives.
Me too, massive increase in enjoyment of painting.
Definitely gonna give it a go on the next dreadnought I paint and see if I want to start doing it on infantry, it looks fast, fun, and effective!
I’d really like to see you expand on your Crimson Fist video from a while back, maybe the blood angel patrol box as it has a good variety of units? Really enjoyed this series and love the conversions
Thanks William I did multi video crimson fists drednought project on Patreon as a follow up.
Upvote of combat patrol boxes! SO cool.
They look really good, quite like the oil dots process
Loved seeing this project come together. The metal pigment on the base was a genius little touch.
A combat patrol of Space Wolves or Imperial Fists would be sweet!
A little break from marines, but I’d love to do a small wolves project.
nothing quite so striking as a see of blue on the tabletop, as much hate Ultramarines get, theres no denying they look amongst the best on the table
It's easy to see why they choose it as the flagship scheme.
Stunning little army! Combat patrol series sounds like a great idea! The GSC box has a great variety of units
Outstanding box of minis for the GSC
Really love to see your army projects, the concepts/ideas, drawing inspiration from artwork and seeing the execution is great.
These look great, awesome work Henry. Would love to see you expand this via combat patrol etc
Id love to see you work on a tyranid combat patrol with 10th around the corner. Would be great to see something more organic.
They're coming!
i would love to see your take on the admech combat patrol
i dont see many people paint admech models other then maybe the occasional tech priest (and not many have done them)
Beautiful army painting project! I really enjoyed all three videos and would love it if you would continue the series! I would also love to see you paint Marneus Calgar and his Victrix Honour Guard, especially how you would convert them to make them fit stylistically to the current units. Same goes for painting a chaplain to make him fit .😊
Chaplain will be getting added for sure.
Yesss, let’s see Genestealer Cult or Sisters of Battle Combat patrol. A nice mix of textures, materials and figures for both ranges!
I'd kill for a decent SoS paint job, which I am sure these guys deliver.
@@rutgaurxi7314 Looks like ur wish came true
Wow you made the desolators look cool. Congratulations.
Haha thanks
Amazing shots at the end. Bravo.
The oil dot filtering was so satisfying to watch! I bet it felt great irl too. Great looking minis mate, love "army" progress vids, its fun to see and follow on the journey. It helps with personal army projects for my part, great source of inspiration!
I appreciate that you leave the whole preshade in. It helps to better understand what you workflow looks like.
Learned a lo from this one. Thank you so much !
19:55, yeah I agree, these metallics in this shot look great!
Use a compass cutter, you set the diameter and get perfect circles every time
That’s what it’s called! Thankyou
Even though I can't really use any of the painting techniques shown in your videos (I don't have an airbrush), I still appreciate the effort you put into the minis showcased.
If you just rattle canned your base colour you could do everything from the oil dots onwards. You’d still get a really nice effect.
I loooooove this series and seeing an army project come together!! It gives me information on how to structure my projects regardless of the army or color scheme there are still take aways. It's also just very entertaining and satisfying to watch it all happen! Not to mention inspiring to work on my own stuff. I think you should absolutlely do some more of these!!!
you smashed it Henry, love that industrial ultramarine look
Love the real time pre-shade! Its so helpful to see how and angles to get the highlights at.
7:14 this is a great shout! I do the same, but if I don't focus, I will start with the easy bit and end up getting to much color on the aria around the difficult bits.
You did an amazing job with this boxed set. I think the blue you did is phenomenal, and I love the head swaps in particular. Keep st it. 😊
Nice! Have a look at grabbing a compass cutter. Perfect for making base toppers out of plasticard.
Very nice primaris. Great choice on the change of the heads and you accuardly make the weapons interesting with all black and som decals. Sore of grim dark but with less mud. Love it
Id like to se you take on some more characters in 30k or black templats army box.
I wish I'd done the Black Templars when they came out.
I have a couple of sheets of plasticard treadplate that's just been sitting there because I didn't have any idea how to work it, thanks man this has given me guidance
Those models look sick, I'm thinking of getting back into painting warhammer
great job on these
incredible!
Wow those look insanely cool! So menacing and tough, this how I imagine they will look like when they appear IRL in the distant future
I'd love to see more combat patrol boxes getting painted. Admech would be amazing to see!
I just love the blue! 😍
Would love to see you do something organic such as Tyranids.
Nids coming soon!
oh absolutely do more mini army projects 🙌
I probably learn at least three new little tricks with each of your videos, and I’ve been hobbying for over a decade. Fantastic work thank you so much
That's great to hear, thanks for watching.
wow this turned out great
I'm honestly not a marine person (despite my Space Crusade/ Space Hulk model update projects!), but I like this, seems both easy to paint and grungy at the same time.
"Definitely a few bits and bobs I'm going to take from them." *Rotating model gulps*
Really useful video. Great details on the process. Love the bits you left in. Would love to see the new tau boarding patrol box with farsight.
Now this is how Ultramarines are supposed to look. Excellent work mate 👍.
Absolutely glorious! Diana Memorial Strawberry!
I think this is brilliant, and I’d love to see more small armies painted to a high sort of tabletop standard.
I don’t particularly care to get minis ready as quickly as possible. The journey is at least as important as the destination and I’ll likely never actually play.
But at the same time always painting just for display doesn’t sit right with me either. These miniatures are meant to be in units together with other units in an army, and there’s a special joy in seeing them all together. And an army doesn’t have to be 2000 points. A combat patrol is great, more time for more armies!
I personally have too many unpainted army projects already and there’s always some new neat army concept that pops into my head. If they’re going to get made into reality they’re going to be 500 point armies. Which should be a perfectly reasonable number of minis for some thematic little conversions as well.
I really just love seeing full small armies painted up. It’s great inspiration.
lovely
Damn. makes me want to paint Ultramarines in this style. Love it.
Would love to see a start to finish series on a combat patrol box!!!
Then watch this space!
@@cultofpaint I can't wait! You guys are the best.
I'd love to see more of this. Would love to see Gully painted up!
Just badass❤
This has been a really interesting series of videos, thanks for doing it. For a follow up, the recently announced Agents of the Imperium box looks like it has lots of very interesting figures that could be very interesting see, might lack the simple cohesive nature that Marines have but I think it could be a fascinating series.
A very cool box though isn’t it
I'd love to see your take on a Salamanders force, really go hard on the dragon scale/flame wyrm aesthetic.
Or perhaps an Admech combat patrol? I've personally found it hard to break out of the classic Mars forge world scheme, it'd be cool to see your take on them.
Admech would be fun
This was a really helpful video. I airbrushed recently for the first time ever using your evo brush and found it fun but need to work on stopping splatters for sure!
keep playing around with your pressure and dilution, you'll find the sweet spot.
Absolutely loved following through this series! Also really enjoy watching the majority of the tutorials that you guys release they really are top quality! It would be great to see a Combat Patrol from start to finish! For me I'd personally love to see some Tyranids using oils, weathering, blending and of course some wonderful blood effects! With the new miniatures on the way in 10th it would be useful to me and a great watch!
Oh the nids are coming!
Absolutely Lovely!
Would be coold too see your take on the Sisters of Battle
Seeing this I can't wait to see what you'll whip up for Orktober
I CANNOT WAIT
Great job! 4 da Empra!!
Thanks for the great video. Great paintjob and nice conversion. I still dont really like the Desolators but with the more sutle color they are looking far better then in the EM Style. Hull Red is my absolute favorite color. Painted my first army back in 2002 with it(Flesh Tearers). Keep up the great work.
Deffo need to use hull red more soon.
@@cultofpaint how about a Flesh Tearers Boarding Action project ?
I would love to see more projets like this to see how to tackle different armies and also see new recipe
i loved it, even though im late for march for macragge im so motivated to do my own ultras
Enjoyed this one a lot! As I am currently very low on hobby time (babies tend to do that apparently), I might give this 'contained' project idea a go. Hope to see more of em!
I'd like to see how you'd paint these without the specialist paints, and tools, that most people just don't have.
Maybe you could paint a mini using only a brush, and water-based acrylics, as that's what most people have. Like a 'back to basics', or more 'beginner-friendly' video to show how you'd do it without all the extra bells and whistles? Just a thought :)
Love these ultramarines. Some of the most unique takes on the boys in blue I’ve ever seen. I was curious if these got the same ultra-matte treatment as the dreadnaught
Thanks! They would have yes.
@@cultofpaintthank you so much for the reply! One more question. At what point do you hit the ultra matte? In relation to the pin wash. I am trying to panel line on my retributors army.
Thank you in advance for you help. I love your guys content
Would love a go at death guard, specifically a go at balancing making them less cartoony and not overly grimdark in painting as it’s one of my big annoyances with the army at the moment!
Always done too grungy? We did a Deathguard video a while ago
@@cultofpaint love the 30k scheme would just love to see an alternate take on the 40k ones similar to how you really shifted up these primaris marines that’s all! Love all y’all do!
@@liammccarthy4677 yeah there’s a green 40k Deathguard scheme video
This was great, I hope these theme months continue. Angels of August is my hope for the next one.
In terms of combat patrol I think it would be really cool to see especially with 10th coming out. Help get the motivation flowing for everyone and also gives those new to the hobby some ideas on how to tackle the projects they'll have coming up :)
Would love to see Cult do Other Games April.
But yeah Henry, I'd love to see more projects like this.
I love the this squad kinda video I think the custodes would be an interesting one the combat patrol I think would be fun especially with the diffrent ways for gold or there black style for the shadow keepers or the white ones they have
Thanks Henry! Definitely down for more project vids, this and the kruleboyz series are some of my favourites so always ready for more
Obligatory question - what greens did you paint the laurel wreaths on the lieutenant with? It looks real good
Blast I meant to add that. It’s Vallejo 70.308 German tail light. Just added a bit of white in to highlight
I really like your "different" method. Like you said, dirty but not full grimdark. Nice!
Space Wolves next ❤
I absolutely love all of your space marine projects. We both have the same taste. I love all the molecular binding studs or whatever they are as well as the Horus heresy style helmets. Edit: them added to the new proportions on HH Tac marines and primaris are awesome .
Think a nid tutorial on a combat patrol will do wonders for future viewers. Trying to think in a less selfish manner haha
I would love to see you do a Thousand Sons combat patrol. I bet you could do an amazing job.
It feels blasphemous that I'm getting so much good army painting content for my Word Bearers project from your ultramarines videos, but I suppose blasphemous is on brand 😂
Fun project, it's been very informative to not just see the top end of your skills but how you simplify, what you keep and what you let go.
This pleases me, more wordbearers the better!
great video henry. i really enjoyed this one , inspired me to put more effort on my helmet lenzes. i personally prefer videos with more than one model, would love to see your work on combat patrols
Would have been nice to see how you painted the guns. Like the red bits, and the hazard lines 😮
hazards are decals and the red is just mephiston red.
@cultofpaint - Awesome, thanks very much! You must be very skilled to get the decals to wrap around the gun like that man!
Would love to see the death guard box picked up!
These guys are awesome. I'd love to see the 40k starter set added to this force. I want to see the sword and board captain done in this style.
Thanks. I think i'll be adding stuff from the new box when it comes out.
This is incredible, is there a place to find a breakdown of how they were made? I never realised how amazing marines look as primaris without the Aquila!
I’d love to see some tyranids painted, especially with some different colour schemes.
lots of nids vids coming soon
Ultramarines arming themselves with their ultraweapons and boarding their ultraships to go fight the ultrathreat on the ultraplanet
Maximum Warhammer.
Good video, look forward to more vids like it. Maybe try a different army? See what you can do with say Tau or Sisters? I know marines have more Juice to them in terms of views etc but it's just a thought. Also as an aside i've been loving your Pod, it's been one of my absolute favourite discoveries of 2023!
Thanks, we’re not overly worried about the popular views thing. Sisters do really appeal.
Astra Militarum combat patrol, or a space marine and go full in on the raptors!
Would love to see your approach to the golden Adeptus Custodes. Your use of pigments and enamels I think would really lend well to making them incredibly interesting
Custodes are certainly in the sooner than later list.
Turned out great nice volumetric highlights! I vote for Hull Red Skin coloured Orks. Something unique
hmmmmm
