I liked his technique overall. Staining will be huge with this. 😊

I wouldn’t say it’s a bad way to go, I wouldn’t say it is a good way to go either. Perhaps cutting the post top, staining and properly setting to depth would be ideal. I think it is a beautiful looking fence.

There was definitely 2 safety tips he missed out on before building and recording.
You never describe how your blade works with the battery being on the saw cause gee hopefully you got insurance to cover for your fingers and no eye protection gee lol

While battery powered tools are convenient, I cringe when someone uses a battery pack saw when they can use a corded, more powerful saw for this particular application. His reciprocating saw was corded.

When you are doing something like this, and moving around, I can see how the cord might get in the way.

@@chrisbaier6252 but he used a corded reciprocating saw. Maybe I'm just an old hack, but if you know your way around a saw, the cord isn't a problem. A corded saw would make a cleaner cut and it would have a larger blade. If you notice when he finished his reciprocating cut, the top of the post was not cut well. He edited the part out where he spent 30 minutes sanding it.
