It almost describes my relationship with my dad who broke our family up with drug addiction and now he's an alcoholic and really i'm the only one left for him who's trying to help him but it's like fighting a losing battle and I fear it's only a matter of time before he dies because of it but I won't stop trying

I can relate bro, my dad done drugs real young, basically he's made a lot of mistakes, he is now just living his last days out with his body slowly decaying, some of my siblings are still healing from trauma, I'm the only one with my head straight there for my dad, family hate his guts and I am the only one who has really forgiven him. I made him proud knowing I did not make the same mistakes he made. ❤️ From New Zealand.
My dad passed away from his alcoholism and this just hit a different spot, world definitely needed this fire!
My dad was sober for almost 3 years and he passed away, 40 y.o. , I found him too at 15

I've been there.. very recently..keep your head up you've came so far to slip up my guy..I've thought about leaving..but I can't do that to my friends and family.. it seems like the only option but trust me boss it's not. My kids are the reason I cleaned up. I was on blow bad.. then had my daughter and my life changed.. even if you don't have children there is someone out here hoping you make it home...

My grandfather lost his battle with Stage 4 Brain Cancer 8 years ago and this song makes my heart hurt, seeing my only grandfather go from normal to not know who he is, both of my brothers going to jail, me going through 6 years of depression and anxiety.....

Speaking as someone who has personally been through it from each perspective I lost my sister to an overdose in Aug of 2017. She was my best friend and was more of a mother to me than my actual mother. I witnessed the impact her addiction had on our family and her daughter. I'm also an addict myself. Been clean since August of 2019 (almost 5 years) ❤ when I lost my sister we weren't on good terms because of some hurtful things she said to me during an argument. She reached out to me 2 weeks before her overdose apologizing and because I was still hurt I didn't respond. Still my biggest regret in life.
