Solo Overnight - HEAT POWERED CHICKEN ROTISSERIE - REMOTE WILDERNESS CANOE TRIP

  • Keeping it simple this time. Bushcraft methods but I just felt like doing everything uncomplicated and easy. Did some favorite camp meals. Some things are too good only to do once! Summer is here and the mosquitos. How I missed them and the buzz them make. A very common question is why I don't hunt and why I bring store bought meals. For some reason a lot of people think my videos is survival. This is camping, bushcraft and hiking. So simple. I never mention the S word. Im never gonna dig moist holes to sleep in, tree forts that you need to fell a small forest for. All those things are just fantasies that take weeks to build and have nothing to do with real survival. I spend time in nature, use it to my advantage with bushcraft techniques but I always leave NO TRACE because I want the forest to still be there for my kids when they grow up. I do fish and forage plants and eat but thats it. I am so so tired on the comments about this that I will not answer them anymore. Another question is how I can bring fresh meat to the forest. 8 out of 12 months no problem because its at least fridge cold outside. On this trip I eat it right away...and bring it frozen so it thaws and you can cook it the next day. Over night you store it cold,, creeks, stones, soil etc.
As always, material for crafting brought to site and not harvested on location. Leave no trace. Thanks for watching!

Great video, and well said in your description. "Survival" is not what most "survival experts" do. I appreciate that you don't come off as being anything more than a person getting out and enjoying the wilderness, and letting your creativity, skills, and non existent footprint on nature show through by your actions. As they say in the country where I live: BRAVO!

Thank you for the video ! Your motto is very correct: "NO TRACE" !!! I also go hiking and rest in this way. And I taught my children: “Leave nature after your camp as it was before it!” Thank you again!

I love your videos, especially this one, it reflects your patients and your true love for the wilderness in how you prepare and enjoy your food.
Most people that don't frequent the wilderness do not understand the labor involved that's necessary to enjoy the freedom and solace.

I don't think, unless Swed had absolutely nothing else for food, that he would've scoffed that.
I think it was attracted to the coffee he was brewing, looking for a pick me up where it was pretty "sluggish"! ( I know, bad humor! Booooo!)

Two of my favorite meals I have watched you make! The self-rotating chicken is brilliant, and the bun-on-a-stick w/bacon-wrapped sausage looks like so much fun! The fire-roasted chocolate banana brought me back to Boy Scouts in High School. Those were my first forays into the wild, they set my life on track to live in the Sequoia forests for almost all my adult life. Your love of your forests shines through everything you do, that is one of the reasons your subscribership just keeps growing. And as for the Survivalists, f-em and feed 'em fish heads - let 'em watch Bear Grylls ;-)

Pretty good at those camp meals, somehow I knew there would be pasta in the mix. Yeah, can't get away from them...mosquitos that is. Even where I live in a dry desert they're present. Excellent video as always, much thanks for sharing, well done. Enjoy!

I also love it when you leave no trace there-- that was the one thing I remarked when I watched your videos the first time. Respecting the nature is loving it and also respecting the generations to come. The old forests are becaming very rare and it is awesome that you find them and make your videos there, showing what we soon might not have , if we cut them down. We should cherish them with respect for the future generations. Thank you for making a point there without speach! Thank you for sharing--be blessed and stay safe.
