- This presentation will concentrate on the Rebel XS, XSi and T1i models but will also be applicable to earlier digital Rebel models. This starts with a sound understanding of the Rebel's settings and options.

A good listen even if you're past the basics. The presenter's great.
Strong bladder too. He had a drinking game going: Any time someone asks a question, you take a shot.
@MrEphi123
I would recommend shooting on a tripod, using a smaller aperture (around f/8 or f/11) and focus on someone in either the middle or back row. If you are using automatic settings, set the camera to landscape mode, use a tripod, and focus on someone in either the middle or back row. You can experiment from there, and simply watch your shutter speed to ensure it does not get slow enough to add motion blur to the image.
What a fantastic video - extremely informative, comprehensive, and a perfect tutorial to help me get my ahead around my 700d, which is my first DSLR. Rudy has a great presence and manner as well which makes him very easy to listen to, and the buttload of knowledge he has about cameras comes through loud and clear. Thanks for sharing. Off to watch his video on custom functions now...
Thank you like the speed and cadence of your presentation… Awesome!

Response:
Yes, the information in the video above can be applied universally to all Canon Digital Rebel cameras, including the Canon EOS Digital Rebel T3i DSLR camera. I would simply recommend to view your owner?s manual to find the features on your camera that are mentioned in the part of the video you are interested in. You can use either the Table of Contents or the Index to search for the topic you need assistance with.
I don't know how I didn't find this before. OMG it is the best video I have seen in regards on how to use my camera.
@pikachusDeMoN Canon's scene modes do have specific setting depending on the mode you choose. You can tweak them to your liking to fine tune the setting to your taste.

Lots of good information. I think it would be better if questions were held til the end. Most of the questions asked he either just addressed or was about to mention in his presentation.
Nice video, filled with lots of information for all Canon, not just the Rebel.
Very informative video. The presentation went clear and easy to understand. I like the way how he chose words to explain to us, and how he corrected himself by saying again. Thanks a lot B&H :)
Love it! I don't have a rebel but I am learning more about my 60D's automatic modes and features from the vid, great instructor. I always shoot manual everything, and the only thing I suggest if you do a lot of photo editing, try and get into shooting and processing RAW as soon as you can! It is very easy so don't be afraid! They are so much more superior to JPEG in terms of options. You can increase or decrease exposure after taking a photo.. RAW 4 LIFE...
That was two hours well spent.
Thank you for this video you done well there were things answered before I asked, I am just starting go learn manual in digital photography. learning the settings and the effects of them I always believe in learning some do some and so on, I picked up a lot from the film camera that I was pleased with. What I miss is a cable release I have not tried a remote shutter release, I don't know if they work with a canon EOS 1100D.

Kindly phrase your question a bit more clearly and email directly to askbh@bandh.com and you will receive a quick response
15:40 But the real cool thing about *AEB* is to make an *HDR* photograph afterwards. Rudy is one of the best tutors.
That was excellent. Thank you very much.
Watched the entire video, great insight.
Great video! is there like a PDF or something that has all this info. like the sheets he mentions @47:44?

Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video. Now I know how to use my Camera. Thanks!
Great presentation. Thanks!
Awesome Video. A lot of help!
Hi,
Is there a video tutorial for basic photography using DSLR camera?
Thanks
Sure, here’s a good one by Jeff Cable, "The 15 Features of Your DSLR That Every Photographer Should Know," The 15 Features of Your DSLR That Every Photographer Should Know. Thanks for watching!
Minute 20:00 : this is how my Rebel T1i works: the AE lock (that asterix button) goes off in maximum 4 seconds if I do not take a shoot . If I take a shoot in less than 4 seconds after I press the AE Lock button then it remains blocked and I might and can take several shots with the light meter blocked. I do not have to press the button all this time. If I press the button one more time, then the AE lock goes off. :D I hope is useful to somebody.
hi there, if i shoot on a group and want everybody in sharp focus, how do i do that?
Nice tutorial
Hi: I have pressed the AEB settings and my camera only takes 1 picture when the bracketing is set .... goodvideo through
+Russ Campbell - Hi Russ, so I may troubleshoot this for you, can you please indicate which specific model camera you're working with? Thanks in advance. - Yossi
+B and H - I have the Canon Rebel XS
+B and H - I sorta have it figured out , I did not have multi-exposure turned on it worked after that..........Russ
+Russ Campbell - That makes sense. Glad you managed to work it out. - Yossi
This guy is a very good instructor; he has a good understanding of the camera and of photography, but I can't thinking that he looks like Cleveland from Family Guy.
Why is it called" Rebel"? and what does "Ti " stand for?
I don't know that there is much, if any, rhyme or reason behind the Canon naming scheme. Rebel is the name Canon uses for its introductory DSLR line in North America. The same line is called Kiss in Japan, and in Europe they just use numbers. As for the 'T' and 'i' in certain model names, again I don't know where this originated, but Canon has been using 'T' in model names since the 35mm film Rebel cameras. Christina askbh@bandh.com
I am using windows 10, 21in monitor resolution 1680x1050 and cannot get DPP to work. Changed the resolution to 1024-768 and still does not work. I would like to use it but does not work on my computer.. In fact I have trouble getting any of the software from Canon to work.
+Wendall Bagwell For this, your best bet would be to contact our Photography Department. I would suggest emailing your inquiry with as much information as you think is pertinent. It would be easier to troubleshoot this through an email. *Christina* AskPhoto@bhphoto.com
+B and H Thanks I finally got it work..
+Wendall Bagwell You are welcome, Wendall!
Very funny guy. I Iike him a lot.
It would be nice if the videographer would show the screen more when he is talking about a slide we can't see.
Presentation is good, but this video is not. You are not showing presentation when I wanted to see. You are showing you for too much time!
