    I've owned the Weber 6483 Original Burger Press for about a year now and I can say that it's very good. I checked the Amazon ratings and noticed that it gets 4 stars. I compare this one to a few other versions and can say that they don't come close to this one.
    Watch me give a cooking demonstration of Ground Chuck on a Weber Gas Grill, which features the patented Flavorizer Bars, ensuring extra flavor to the burgers.
    I cook the burgers over direct high heat for about 9 minutes. The burgers have a dimple in the center, which is a feature that the press has. The dimple is designed to compensate for the puffing that occurs in the center and promotes a nice, flat burger. You will notice that I flip the burgers only 1 time. If you flip them more that that, the flavor start to diminish. I also make sure not to press down on the burgers with a spatula, because the good juices will be lost.
    I seasoned the burgers with Emeril's Bam! Burger, Hamburger Seasoning. Another good choice it to use Montreal Steak Seasoning.

    Put saran wrap in the clear lid before pressing the meat in. Then pull on the saran wrap to it will remove the burger easily. Can do this over and over with the same saran wrap.

    Waxed paper discs are cheap and do two things.. they make it easy to get the burger out of press and allow a stack to be frozen for easy separation later. I recommend this lentil-based alternative to meat, works a treat.

    It seems to me that if I had to make several hamburgers at one time I'd lay the meat out on a large cutting board and use a rolling pin (or a piece of 1 inch PVC pipe) to flatten it. I'd use lengths of wood on either side of the meat to determine the thickness of the patty and to keep the level consistent. Once that was done I'd use just the top part of your hamburger press like a cookie cutter to make the patties. I believe this would be simpler and faster.
    What do you think?

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  Před 5 lety

      Sounds like a good idea. The one feature of the Weber press is that it puts a dimple in the center for improved burger grilling. You could easily do that with your thumb when putting them on the grill.

    The Weber burger press didn't appear too imPRESSive (heh-heh!). I found the Cuisinart 3-in-1 burger press to be far superior: easy to make different sized burgers, including "sliders"; easy to make stuffed burgers; and the bottom comes out, along with the pressed burger, making it easy to remove the burger you made; and the entire thing is made of dishwasher safe plastic, and all the pieces fit together for easy and compact storage. And the Cuisinart 3-in-1 is less than $8.00 on Amazon, whereas the Weber burger press is $10.00!!!

The wide flat side has a smaller gap so you can cook smaller food like veg etc and it less likely to get stuck, the thinner point side for your meats and larger items, least that is what Weber say.
