I’m honestly totally fine waiting a little longer for Vector 2.0 with the upgrades and all the quality assurance testing! I love the passion and drive from everyone over at DDL and I hope you all know the hard work doesn’t go unnoticed! I have been and will continue to support you all and your products/projects and am beyond excited for what the future holds. Also, the fact that you are so transparent and tell it like it is is a huge bonus for me personally. Excellent work team! 😎

Vector 2.0 can understand and speak French?
Few years ago I was fascinated by Vector and was about to buy on Amazon, but the comments their mentioned about Anki shutting down and I was in tears, and today I suddenly remembered vector and discovered you guys DDL are bringing it back to life which instantly put a big smile on my face, cannot express how elated I am to have this cute little fella in my home hopefully next year, may also buy his overexuberant little brother Cozmo along with Vector. Thank you very much DDL, Love and best wishes from India :)
I paid for Vector 2.0 a year ago and we were promised something in June. All this work and testing but the only publicized updates are longer battery and camera lens? :/

In the new Overdrive app, will there be just a race mode with no weapons? That is mainly what I do mostly.
48:00 you updated the cozmo app for all that, all anybody noticed was you put the DDL logo on the app, so how did you change the app to do all that?

Hi DDL. A quick question for you. At 32:30 of the webinar video, In the Vector Escape Pod video itself, it states “ launching with many of the features the cloud offers, with the potential for much more”.
So my question is, as it is stated that Escape Pod will have “many” of the cloud features, what features that the cloud offers WILL NOT be available with the Escape Pod?
I realise that you guys at DDL are busy and don’t respond to many of the questions in the comment section of this video, but I, as well as many other of your customers. would really love to hear the answer to this question. Thanks.
so what would be better for a new player? Get overdrive and just get the chips or wait for Infinidrive?
Tbh i would like to see more track pices for overdrive like chicanes, 45 degree turns or even small clips that let you connect and stack elevation sets
I REALLY hope that this "Breezmo" will be closer related to Vector in the sense that it doesn't need to have the app open for it to be active and it can travel freely!

It's super convenient that your website still expresses that you're aiming to start shipping in May, since it's about to be May again. Not the May you all meant the first time, but there is another one coming up.
Underpromise and Overdeliver. Don't get those mixed up. Certainly don't over promise and never deliver.

@@martinkratzsch8655 Nope. Still nothing, and the last email I got from Digital Dream Labs was 8 months ago.
It's honestly pathetic how the whole project is going, or rather, how it's not going. I have strong suspicions that it'll either never come out and there will be refunds or a class action lawsuit, or it will be the last product DDL ever sells, because a lot of people are feeling pretty burned over the whole thing. That's not even considering the other shady stuff DDL has done as far as intentionally obsoleting their previous products.
DDL tried to paint the delays as being related to the pandemic, but I know that's horseshit.
More likely is they bit off more than they could chew with regards to the original design document and specifications. They literally don't have the talent to meet the specs that they promised.
I wish I had done more research about the company before committing $150, but hey, live and learn. At this point I'm in your boat - I don't even think about it or have any energy to be upset. If it shows up tomorrow, I'll still feel burned, and I will never do business with DDL ever again.
But the cherry on top? They're ***still accepting pre-orders***. Years later. They'll still take people's money for years old vaporware with no clear or even vague timeline of when they'll actually be produced, if ever.

I am beyond excited for the butter robot! The work you guys are doing is truly amazing and I commend your dedication to making it the best it can be! But I must say, I was really hoping for more of a date on when I will be receiving it since I ordered it now 2 years ago lol.. its alright though, life is better with something to look forward to! Keep up the good work fellas 😁

These new commanders do NOT fit into the game. Taking the futuristic look to the commanders out ruins them. If they actually add these I am done with overdrive.

I. Getting cosmo do you update and still support it
Just some suggestions and concerns I have concerning Overdrive: I love how each weapon in the game is specific 2 its car, giving each vehicle its own strengths and weaknesses, as well as strategies on how 2 use them and defeat them. However, while the idea is great, the execution could use a bit of tweaking. I suggest taking a page out of halo’s book 4 this 1: u should assign a set of modifiers 2 each blaster 2 make it feel truly unique, and give it real purpose in the sandbox of the game. Some modifiers I had in mind include more projectile-based ammo (balancing out skull’s plasma cannon, as well as making it lore accurate, among other weapons), deployable duration (the amount of time the blast of a deployable weapon can damage u after impact, good 4 weapons such as Thermo’s Flare Blast, which would b more fire based and therefore leave behind a small fire where the bomb exploded), DOT (damage over time; useful 4 weapons such as the flamethrower, which would realistically b able 2 smolder a car, since it’s fire), short circuiting (the ability 2 shut down certain items, such as support items; useful 4 weapons like ground shock’s ElectroPulse), arcing (the ability 4 a weapon 2 hit 1 person and damage a person near the person that was initially hit; useful with weapons such as the ion punch, which could really benefit from a modifier like this, cuz otherwise it’s useless af), radioactivity (similar 2 DOT, but the spot where the blast occurred is the only spot where more damage can b done; useful 4 weapons like the Fuel Bomb, which could b used in strategies 4 area of denial), ripple effects (the father a projectile travels, the less damage it will do; really only useful 4 AOE weapons, where the best strategy will b 2 get as close as possible 2 an individual, and punish u 4 being farther away), reload times (more powerful weapons will take longer 2 reload; useful with more powerful single-shotters like the plasma cannon, and the Decimator), explosions (weapons that have a blast radius; useful 4 weapons like the plasma cannon, which could become a grenade launcher of sorts), etc. I think u should also add an armor gauge, since some weapons have the ability 2 strip u of armor. 4 the bombs, I wish they were tap 2 deploy, and automatic detonation, because when ur stuck in a match, and u deploy a bomb, u can’t move ur hand 2 hit the shield and defend against incoming fire from long range attacks, so u have 2 pray u have enough energy 2 tank the hits, which in the case of thermo, u can’t. Then there’s multiplayer. There r some times when I want 2 play Overdrive with my friends, but I can’t cuz either they don’t have the app (which is paid now), or there isn’t any Wi-Fi. There was a laser gun from nerf, and it had an app 2. The multiplayer in the app allowed 4 u 2 connect multiple blasters to 1 device, as opposed 2 1 device and blaster per person, and then using the device 4 metrics like time remaining. Since Overdrive is getting controller support, I think something similar is now possible with overdrive. 1 more thing: I think the driver UI could use some retooling. The weapons and support items r all on 1 side, which makes using them both at the same time a bit difficult. Since the accelerator 4 the cars is a slider and not a throttle that u have 2 hold down, maybe move the weapons 2 the left, keep supports on the rite, move the throttle just below the support button, and make the throttle horizontally opposed instead of vertically opposed. Put all of these things in the game, and u make me a happy man

good afternoon on duty, i appolegize that ididnt attend the last webinar robotics but i have some questions. 1- why dont we say vector instead of saying hey vector or i can say question instead i have question? 2- can we make vector take or communicate with human with sample words for example how old are you what is your favourite color? because ive shocked that robot EMO more features and functions more than Vector. whish all the best .
Thanks for posting I registered but missed it due to work. I had a few questions. Will vector 2.0 come with a subscription or will it need to be purchased? Also any plans on the over drive car repair kits offering services in Europe?
Customers who pre-ordered Vector 2.0 will receive a lifetime subscription for their new robot buddy. New robots purchased after the pre-order (either from the DDL website or from one of our retail partners) will receive a 1 year subscription.

I hope Vector ships soon. Checking in for my Daughter. Ordered last Novemeber, got excited in June when we got news they were shipping soon and got the stickers but now months later and Vectors not shipping yet. Guess it got delayed again...

I don’t understand majority of what is talked about here! I thought an escape pod was like the charging station or an area vector can roam and not escape. But I think I’m waaaay wrong! I’m starting to feel like this is over my head! I just wanted a cute robot guy. 😏. I hope there is a setup for dummies!
Escape Pod for Vector (not to be confused with his habitat) allows your robot companion to connect to a local server instead of DDL's cloud servers. While customers will receive an Escape Pod license with their purchase of Vector 2.0, it's by no means necessary to enjoy interacting with your robot.
Its Gunna be great and easy to use.. I will drop a video on how to set it up for beautiful people lol

I've had a Vector for a couple of years. It continued to function, even when the last company closed. When the new owners moved in, they removed functionality; eg, "hey vector" command, the main component which makes it interactive. What a terrible thing to do to existing owners. So "alexa" works, but you can't have back what you already paid for without paying more. They did this, by offering a free update over the internet; and there is no going back. Very disingenuous, manipulative, and dishonest corporate behavior.

In my opinion, I think it's worth waiting a little longer for the Cosmo and Vector robots. I know the team at DDL work hard to save the robots.

Please change the infinidrive commanders back to the futuristic theme like the old commanders. The new art is just not the best for the game. It doesn't fit in.
2:26 I personally don’t like the new art style of the new characters in Overdrive. They just seem 2 kiddy and cartoonish 2 b taken seriously. Something I liked abt Overdrive under Anki’s ownership is that Overdrive took itself seriously enough 2 make it believable, and interest u in the lore behind the characters, while not being 2 serious as 2 make it inappropriate 4 younger ages. It’s this balance that makes Overdrive’s story and lore truly special. With the new art style and characters, I’m not buying that. They seem 2 lean less into seriousness, and more into a campy approach that would appeal more 2 kids than older, more mature individuals, and I just don’t like it at all. DDL, pls keep this in mind going forward
