- Another CV commentary and another Low Tier guide, something I haven't done in a while. Picked this game to commentate since I ended up with pretty nasty MM, having a strike Bogue on my side against an enemy AS Bogue, making CV life rather rough. As usual you can find Upgrades, Modules and Captain Perks at the end.

Great to hear about that wasting bombers to killsteal. But the problem was (and still is) USN CVs go too often for Figher loadout. If it's 1v1 carrier, it's hard to be usefull. But 2v2 will help already a lot, he can also focus the other CV. But I still wish you can shoose loadout or they need to change it. Playing Fighter loadout and fighting against it IS NO FUN.
This. I really hate the two fighter loadout. It really pleases me when I shoot down this planes
lol, i never go Fighter loadout on USN CVs, always strike and stock flight control. It's true that avoiding dem fighters is a pain, but the feeling when u go strike load out and sniped enemy CV, priceless
Also Flamu, I often like to bunch up my two torpedoe squads when dropping BBs and CLs in my Zuiho. This makes it less likely for your planes to be shot down since your planes are in their AA for less time. Enemy CV also has less time to move his fighters to intercept because both squads are spotted together. Even if 8 torpedoes are not enough to kill the opponent BB, you are almost guaranteed to get flooding, so you can follow up with dive bombers.
This is a clever trick and some people may consider a cheat but it works: if your keyboard or mouse supports custom macros, you can record one that selects multiple squads at once and assign it to a macro key. This is especially convenient if you want to bunch up attack squads. Personally, I have a mouse with two additional buttons. So I assigned one of them to selecting squad 3 and 4 for my Zuiho, so I can easily use two squads as one. The macro is simple: 3 down, 3 up, ctrl down, 4 down, 4 up, ctrl up. Set the delay inbetween to 10ms and you've got yourself a very responsive and convenient multi-select.
It's so funny that each time you do a commentary on a ship I needed a guide on I've just unlocked the next one(Zuiho, recently got the Ryujo. Mogami, recently got the Ibuki) lol.
I'm not complaining, it's just such a coincidence...
The fighter management in this game is phenomenal. The fact you manage to de-plane both the Bogue & Zuiho with only one squad is amazing.

Carriers are tricky imo. I have ~250 games in them now and I still feel like a total noob at times...
low tiers cv are the best ship to farm flag and silver and practice manual drop
Keep the health bars on the CV's pink for team damage, but dammit leave the squadrons green! They're difficult to distinguish from the enemy at a quick glance!
Thx for your work and knowlege shearing Flamu, keep it up. I only miss 1 thing: your key config. Especially CV key konfig. Can you make video about it?

I was pink the other day too. Killed off a friendly BB's last 1Khp with a torp into a cap that was full of enemies. Guy was straight going YOLO. I hit two enemies with that salvo and he suddenly turned and went for a ram and caught the last torp in the spread. Totally face palmed on that one...

zuiho is a fun carrier, a large portion of my kraken confederate and high caliber awards are from using her, highest damage done with her was 225k I think at 7 kills

Since t-4 is now getting premium matchmaking +1/-1, I thought about getting a Langley or Hosho...any ideas which is best?
I definitely prefer Hosho. You aren't the slowest ship in the game (which means you can actually run from ships and keep up with your team, and you can dodge fire much more easily, as well as torps), for one. You can get a two-torpedo bomber squadrons, one fighter squadron loadout (which is big), and your concealment is better. Having two torpedo bomber squadrons is important, since it lets you stagger your flooding (defeats their repair), as well as cross-drop enemy ships (making them all but impossible to dodge if you do it right, even against a destroyer). Your torpedo manual drop pattern is better, too. Your planes are also faster. The Japanese carrier line is just plain better overall--it's not until Lexington that the US carrier line gets truly respectable (the AS loadout for the Bogue is kind of an exception, but it's crap at actually fighting anything other than carriers).
wait, air mod.1 increase fighter hp or something? I thought WG said it's just buff your rear gunners on the bombers.

Since i'm too lazy to read notes, do you know why everyone in a BB on the Public Test server is spamming HE?
Because all the brain dead players who could never get to tier 10 bbs now get to play the big bad high tier bbs and have no idea how to properly play them
Because it's the default setting when you start in the BB line, and people are too lazy to switch manually to AP. Other than that, HE spamming with a BB has its merits if your BB oponent is angled and/or has turtleback armour and you are rather close to your target. In addition, it is superior when fighting those pesky DD's ;-).

celal gaming there was a CV rework and the odd tier CVs were removed, along with the system of how to play carriers being completely changed
I take it you were trying to save money by not buying the C hull. Although the extra maneuverability will only delay the inevitable when it comes to being targeted as a CV, being able to avoid torps from enemy ninja planes early on may help with your survivability.

Japanese carriers torps converge (Also USS Saipan, but that's an exception)

It's not possible anymore in T5, you can do that T6 onwards by pressing the ALT-key

Just press Alt to activate the manual drop command and enable the command by a left-click. You can find the explaination with F1 in the battle help. Though more important is to learn strafing, otherwise the enemy cv will wreck you like Flamu did here with just one fighter squad.

My best game (ever) was as the hosho. I solo won the game by killing 7 enemies.
Only as if Flamu, only as if. So many CVs dont hunt DDs its getting quiet frustrating. Yours & IChases vids should be made mandatory for weak/bad players. Would be better for everybody and improve the fun factor by a large margin in WoWs.
i hate how i cant carry in tiers 4 and 5 now, turns most people away from cvs honestly
