- Theres a bug with the turbo sounds in this game that needs to be fixed. I found a work around that makes the turbo loud as they should be! For some reason the game has a bug where turbo sfx cut out or aren't loud. Hope this helps and hope that it gets fixed in an update.

There is no software without bug. Dev don't want bug, We want polished game. To archive that they can use internal people, the cons is delayed, potential expensiver, still not bug-free release.
Or while they developing, they can use the power of community which the most number, reliable, cheap tester. that contributed to faster, more polished, cheaper release.
In the end, any update is bliss considering lot of software left outdated with bug. Any method to iron the bug is welcome

I wish they added even more new bov noises instead of reusing most of the Gt Sport ones. I also wish they used more real life stock turbo sounds for more of the vehicles in game.

Gt7 really needs a sound buff, turbos superchargers are way too quiet. They could atleast give us a slider to adjust separately from trans and engine noise

How can they mess up one of the most important features of any car game is beyond me. GT was always known for having incredible sounds and this shows it's still there, but they F'ed it up somehow.

GT series was notorious for its “vacuum cleaner” sounds, you must be new. Also you don’t get this kind of BOV sound with a racing /sequential transmission so it’s not even a bug…

Racing Manual transmission is like like the stock version but allows you to change gearing
racing sequential transmissions is a sequential and racing manual is a H pattern
I prefer buying both if you have the extra money, honestly it's up to you at the end
Like others have said, this is not a bug or glitch, but rather due to the behavior of the transmission, especially when they hold boost during shifts. This is common knowledge in car engineering.

Thats understandable but it doesnt explain that when he simply revs out one gear and then backs off that you get the turbo flutter. Transmission type doesnt matter when you are just revving out a single gear and then backing off the throttle.
Nope that's a bug. All the race ambiant sounds are changing too. It makes the sound more compressed and low quality.
yes, but if you give a normal gearbox, the car's performance will deteriorate. So if it's important to race then ....

the customizable transmission turns the car into DCT instead of manual, that's why that happens

Hate to be the partypooper, but that's turbo flutter or chatter. Also known as STUTUTUTU. I never really liked the sound of it and it's actually something you wanna avoid as it can damage the turbo. A BOV is a device that prevents turbo flutter. Personally I prefer the sound of a dumpvalve style BOV. Had one on a Ford Escort RS Turbo and when releasing the throttle a extremely loud PSSSSSH sound was made. Boy what a headturner that was.
Hey bud I know you’re talking about irl but this is just a game … we don’t need to worry about damaging our engines 😂… me personally I’ve own 3 turbo cars myself and on my 4th one although this one pretty stock spec wise … I’ve done cosmetic things ( F30 BMW 3 Series ) current car

My last turbo car was a Impreza, you just can't beat that sound of a turbo spooling up. Like having a small jet engine under the hood .

There is no difference between having a compressor surge or having a recirc or a bov, the potential to damage a turbo is very minimal
I noticed this aswell since a tuned an R35, it has stock transmission because it's so smooth.

Did the GTR race. My GTR pumps just under 1000bhp.
Raced other GTRs and in the reply they sounded much better. I purchased the lower tier exhausts to see if they sound better. They're worse.

Does this work with superchargers as well? Pretty disappointing that turbo and supercharger noises are almost impossible to hear. :(
Ironically, without the glitch, the 370z when supercharged has a very loud supercharger whine, give it a try 🤟🏾

Played GT7 the other day and this doesn't even work anymore. Unless you're using one of the gr. cars the turbos makes almost no sound at all.
The gearbox gets louder depending on which one obviously stock makes no noise
No turbo noise and most definitely no supercharger whine
Gen 3. Viper has a really nice procharger whistle to it but that’s it no other car has sc whine.
yeah usually the Camaros and corvettes and vipers have a slight supercharger sound but you have to play with your set-up try using a different exhaust and buy the manual racing transmission

Bov doing surge its so realistic
Just cannot get mine to have the same effect like in the video. Tried multiple cars including the R34, which made a slight difference but not even close to the distinct sound shown in this video. Am I missing something? Also tried changing audio settings.

I want to like this game I really do but man… for a simulator the sounds are not completely accurate. RB26 and 2JZ engine sounds are so wrong on this game and the antilag/2 step sounds like if you’re making popcorn or some shit like that 💀

Had this issue with gt sport, if u equipped the sequential gearbox u got a ridiculous loud whine that overpowered everything
That wine would be off the straight cut gears in the racing gearbox, listen to any modern lmp hypercar or gt3 onboards and all you will hear ia gear wine

Surely that down grades the car for the benefit of noise, there's enough people doing that in the real world without the need for it in a simulator, just like Glare! No need for it

Im starting to think that this game was rushed out the door. Don't get me wrong, I love the game but it just feels rushed. some of the sounds need obvious tweaking, BOP is completely fucked up, hardly any wheel brands to choose from, and a payout system that had you pulling your hair out. The most important thing to them was you buying in-game $$$$$$. No Pace car for race sessions, a penalty system that is Fucked as well... I mean this is not the stuff of legends here. My expectation was a cross between GT Sport and the likes of I-Racing or Asseto Corsa.
