We all know that these past few months (or if only months) have been hard for everyone so we'd like to contribute a little by showcasing some small businesses in Prague so when you arrive, you can support them as well. Hope you'd like this as we'd like to continue in this series for a bit and show some more places we like and we think deserve the extra help.
Also huge thanks to all of our Patreons who help us create new videos every week after we left the huge media house and had to delete 95 % of our videos. Thank you for sticking with us!
Yours Honest Guides Janek & Honza
Hi Janek and Honza, I've been watching a lot of your videos since I'm moving to Prague soon (can't wait!) and look forward to local businesses like these :-) But the video didn't make me want to visit the last two places because it shows nobody even trying to keep distance when possible, and masks nowhere to be seen. Janek mentioned that he knows these people so it's ambiguous whether we're seeing a slice of his private life, or if we're seeing what it would be like as a customer. But after this video, I'm not really curious to go there and find out.
Glad to support these businesses and hope to cross paths with you and Honza on my next visit in early October.
Will be there in September 2021 and look forward to visiting and supporting the local businesses.
Just to know, I REPORTED a possible "copyright infringement" issue in e-mail!
It's a very good idea :-), and it's agradable to move into different districts to discover shops like this. Don't hesitate !
About 5 years ago when we first arrived in Prague , my wife and I were walking around old town and found this wonderful antique shop. We wanted to look again for it but could not remember where it was or what the name of the shop was until now. It was bric a brac and it was the one in the courtyard. Thanks a lot for this episode .
I rescued an early XX century oil lamp found between all those different things in Bric Brac. I have it now decorating my living room at home in Spain.
Did you have your wishes rubbing the lamp? đ
The world is a small place)
How much is it for?
Also, can you bargain here or is it a fixed price shop?
So cool that You are using Your power to support local businesses those hard times!
Go with the bzzz!
Iâm in Portland, Oregon, USA and LOVING all of your videos. Iâd love to visit Prague one day. Thatâs all down to you because before I started watching your (now deleted) videos, I never really thought about going there. Cheers to the two of you and thanks!!!
Each of these businesses has something interesting to offer đ thnk you Janek for supporting these small businesses by making this video â€
Kartotéka's on the list - incidentally, those fountain pens at 4m15s (bottom, left) are an excellent price!
Janek, looks like you needed a shave. đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł. Anyhow, Iâll be sure to buy something from Bric A Brac next time I am in Prague. đ
You need to show Smalterie Workshop again! It was amazing to chill out there after walking for the entire day. Making the cups was an amazing expirience and I wish all the best for the buisness owner which was one of the nicest guys I ever met.
I liked the camera đž in the first shop
I love stationary âșïž
He could have cut the hair more short if I came like that home my mom will kick me out of the house
I asked him to keep it bit longer as I enjoy it that way now :) H
Love supporting local!! Great video idea đ€©
I hope Prague going to be open for international travelers this summer. The hotel Liliova didn't refund me the money after my 2020 trip was cancel because of covid 19.
They probably don't have any more to refund, said..... đ
you two are doing prague justice keep up the good work!
Always helping small businesses, keep up the great work fellas!!!
Loved it, hope it becomes a series! On a sad note, how I miss Prague!
Thanks to this video I had a chance to visit Bric a Brac on a recent trip to Prague. I very much enjoyed the shopping experience and found the owner MiloĆĄ to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. Highly recommended as a stop in the Old Town of Prague. Well done guys!
Finally, another TRUE Honest Guide episode, like in the beginning / old times! Be true to and never lose yourself guys! :) Hugs and Best wishes from Hungary (not Budapest)! ;) E,
The stationary store is AWESOME !!!đ

Such a cool video! That Barber shop in particular is awesome!
Need more episodes like this please!!!
Wished I knew about the first two stores when I was there. I love those kind of stores.
Same here, I'd love to take home the entire interior design of the Kartotéka, fortunately I found this video just in time!
Thank u! Er visited Bric a Brac today it was totally Worth the recommendationđ
I had my hair and beard done by Mara at Gotham today. He was awesome. Grateful to have seen this, so I could try somewhere different to the usual Expat recommended places. I will be sure to let others know.
Amazing video!
I love the stationary shop!
Great show. I can not wait to visit Prague with my wife. Early next year.
That shop what has everything looked so cool. :)
Speaking of ĆœiĆŸkov and stationery, I am obsessed with Skoba diaries â€ïž
This was a good episode! It's rare for tourists to think that should they support local businesses and usually they go into some global big named brand store instead. I visited Prague years ago and ended up outside the city center into some old lady's shop where she was selling handmade scarfs, wool socks etc.. She even offered us coffee and we sat there like an hour and only few people visited the store so this episode reminded of that store a lot! And yes, I bought scarf and wool socks that I still use today in winter.
Love your videos â€ïžđ
I love the road sign ânevybuchlĂĄ pumaâ in the shop. Unexplored bomb? Classic!
Unexploded
I think earlier you had more views of your videos. I don't understand why people stopped watching this great stuff. In 2020 I was sure that in the first half of 2021 your channel will pass 1 million subscribers.
I loved the Bric a Brac stores - so much better than the tourist shops! Humza - sensational hair cut!
Ohh enamalled signs galore. I really like that Pilsner Urquell one hanging on top of the lamp.
I saw you guys on the front of Japan ambassy filming, next time I stop to say hello đ€
I love his videos cus even though I lived in this city for majority of my adult life, I never got to visit some of these places
I was in a first shop wow. Tynska street is amazing.
Still have my Chapeau Rouge coaster , memories đ
Way 2 go!!
Terrific idea for a video.
Czech Republic is beautiful country love it my favorite destination â€
super! :) fajné diamanty :)
When I first came to Prague in 1997 I got horribly lost and wandered into Bric-a-Brac (the tiny one) and it is still my absolute favourite shop. hint: Bring lots of money because you will find lots of things you didn't know you needed.
Awesome video
Wow! The design store is located right in my block and I even had no idea)
I have actually been in the Bric a Brac store before! Almost bought a vintage camera there.
Not sure my wheelchair would fit in that first shop without causing a lota damage :)
Your wheelchair will pick what you have to buy, aim well haha
I don't use a wheelchair, but I'm so clumsy, I'd cause the damage myself. đ *gives a big đ€, cause being left out doesn't feel fine even unintentially*
I'll pray that you stand up from wheelchair.
@@Lisasplace I sure do love buying broken things at full price :)
@@dukeofistria5712 walking is overrated
Will do dude
excellent!
I love Bric a Brac! I was visiting regularly in the 90's, the courtyard location. One of my favorite places in Prague. Was that the owner sitting outside the courtyard location?
Love you :)
Haha. That was what I did this weekend too! A better haircut!!
Kartoteka totally Wes Anderson material ...so cool
I want that Prague Zoo poster!
PANR has tuned in.
I live in a village next to Prague but I lived in Prague 6 years ago
Cool video!! Please go to Arepas de Lyna restaurant, they made venezuelan food. I hope you like it
Do you guys have like a map with all the places you show? It is really difficult to navigate myself even when I have a book and a phone with a stable connection to youtube running through.
Can you please make an episod about futnet / nohejbal? That is a genuinely Czech thing and there are great places for instance on StĆeleckĂœ ostrov or at camping sites / trampske osady/ near Prague. I can direct you and/or help you with the content.
Damn how did I miss these stores. Im so mad at myself.
Please show more good local businesses!
I would love to see an episode, about visiting Prague with motorcycle
Long time fan from Vancouver, Canada... Thanks for helping us virtually travel during the pandemic! Keep these videos coming.
Good idea. More of this please. What Bric a brac in the language?
nonsense
Wait a minute. Why does Bric a Brac has a sign for "valley road" in Greek? We need more of these videos btw!
I'm curious. @HONEST GUIDE Does Janek actually collect beer coasters? I used to live in Prague and I have a pretty solid collection myself đ it's actually from all around Europe. We might exchangeđ
Do you have any plans to start filming your videos in 2160p? I would love to watch the Honest Guide in 4K!
Could you please show us the local park district.
U think the city are open for turist in week 29? Miss the city so much â€ïžâ€ïž
3:16 its better than most of the nft
I don't think tourist go to prague to take a haircut, but sure why not, at least if that is needed we can kinda know what to look for
I will definitely be checking out Brick a Brac!
I heard some Czech there
*Hele* , worst case scenario ...
đ
Is there anyway to order from the store with the stationary online? I would love to order a copy of the zoopraha with the chimpanzee.
hey, they also have an eshop. kartoteka.store/collections/darky/products/limitovany-print-simpanz-1
đđŒ
The first one (Bric a Brac) is so Czechoslovakia... and on 1:17 right on the upper left part of the door you can see hanged on a typical Greek street sign of the name of a street that says " ÎÎŽÏÏ ÎÎŹÎŒÏÎżÏ = Street (of) flatland or in an English version : Flatland St." How come a Greek culture element found its way into this tiny Czechoslovakian store????
1:14 Me : How the actual fuck ,a greek sign ended up there !
Where
Edit 1: nvm i saw it, its there because there's basically everything.
4K videos plzzz
You guys convinced me to visit you straight away when the EU opens. Of course, I don't drink or party because of a medical condition but honestly. When will the EU open? I wont get an opportunity to travel for another 4 years due to american benefits.
So bad.
woah I'm early
Missing prague,
Hehe, if someone does remember some stuff from the old videos and combines them with the new ones, he can act like a real guide in there.
That would be a nice summer job đ
More
Beware of Janek! In public he may wear airpods and may seem not to be listening, but he is!
Nice video. No doubt the third one can be a good hairdresser, but I didnÂŽt like how the looked.
I'm from Vienna in 2 Weeks I'm coming for a Haircut
Don't forget paper about PCR test or vaccine and respirator, this video is very fake, it looks like everything is completely normal, but it's not.
First comment Janek
2nd :(
But I was already typing before you typed
I guess we must've commented at the same time
Everytime I come to Barbershop the barber says: "Uhm,.. Next time."
Do you need any document from doctor that you don't have covid when visiting hairdressers?
Loved the video but the music was a tad loud. Couldnât hear the stationary guy properly.
Is Prague open for tourist
No homo, BUT thatâs a good looking brother đ haha
Just so you know there is a âBest of Honest Guideâ -channel. I guess itâs not yours? Ciao! âïžđšđż
Can you tell us where the best place is to spend a penny, for free? (Best free Public toilets in Prague, if any) i know its a little random lol...
0:58 Am I really the only one who has noticed the Stalin bust?
