    Thanks for the helpful tips! I recently started using my social media for posting more “entertainment” and less products, and the follower counts that had been pretty stagnant for a very long while, have started to grow again (slowly). It’s nice! But first I had to come up with ideas for the content, which led me to start a CZcams channel. Been at it for about a month and it’s been a pretty fun experience!

      Yes! Sounds like you figured it out.... give value first... value can be entertainment... and it can be fun too.

    Thank you for your commitment to relevant information helping us grow multiple streams of income. Kindly guide me on the following as a beginner on Teepublic:
    1. Which Topics to major my designs on that can scale faster. E.g vintage, cat, dogs etc
    2. How to achieve this video game design on Canva
    3. Can I do ads for my teepublic
    store
    4. Other advice that enable me to sell better on my teepublic store.
    Thank you.

    • @DetourShirts

      1. There are a ton.... and it changes but yes vintage, cat, dogs, pop culture, outdoors are all good ones... check their homepage for the up to date one. I also have a video of the top topics for TeePublic here...czcams.com/video/c9s2wyGbC5A/video.html
      2. It's easier if I make a video for it... I'll add it to the list
      3. You can but I don't think it's worth it... you only make $4 per sale and it wouldn't cover Facebook ads
      4. Look to see what kinds of designs are selling well and do something for those audiences but better, don't copy... make yours a better option..... the thing about TeePublic is that you don't compete on price so the thing that makes the most difference is the design. Make something people want to buy that they can't get from someone else.

    Hi, its me again, For this one the "Amazon Ads" idea would be awesome, but if its the one connected to Merch on Demand then isnt it locked behind a invite or certain tier level?

    What are good ways getting more traffic on ETSY. Some people advise to not use social media to direct traffic to your ETSY store, but to rank up within ETSY is the best way. Is that correct?

      I have a theory that Amazon makes as much, or more money, from ads than product. I come to that conclusion by how hard Amazon pushes their sellers to run ads. Want to give your buyers a document coupon? They charge for that. Want to run a sale? They charge for that.
      I spent $ on one campaign for a t-shirt. Timely design on a political issue. I got 1 sale, but had to send out numerous cease and desist emails/reports for numerous copyright infringements. More of a waste of time than money.
      If my design is going to get ripped off, I don't want to pay to get that done. 😂

    Hello Detour Shirts. If someone has a word design for a t shirt. Do they have to get it copyright first or what is your suggestion? Appreciate any help.

    • @DetourShirts
      @DetourShirts  Před rokem

      If you really really want to you can.... I don't bother.... you are taking a risk that someone will copy but it's not a huge risk... getting a copyright or trademark is not FREE... once design is created and uploaded to the internet it is automatically copyrighted. The words aren't but the design is.... so if your design is copied pixel for pixel and you uploaded it to the internet first you legally can get the other personal to remove their copy.... if you want to take them to court you would win but it takes money to take someone to court.... I hope this long answer helps

      @@DetourShirts Well is is just words on a shirt not a logo I should of said but wonder if the words make a lot of money and then someone tries to copy it to make them selves money too?

    • @DetourShirts
      @DetourShirts  Před rokem +1

      Trademarks are NOT supposed to be used for just random t-shirts people come up with. Some people have been using trademarks to stop others to not use the same words on a shirt and kind of "own the phrase". That is NOT what trademarks are used for although many people are using it this way. Trademarks are for business to help their brand be recognized. It's branding... like Just Do It! for Nick or Think Different for Apple.... Having multiple unrelated tshirt design and getting a trademark for each one is NOT the right way to do it just because you have an idea for a shirt that isn't related to your brand you can't just say you want to own that phrase. Now if your company or brand was around a certain subject and you have a phrase for you brand then that makes sense. Many people are abusing the trademark system.

      my sales on all platforms have been steadily nosediving since the price of gas doubled early last year and the war in ukraine began. i used to have a lot of UK and EU buyers but that's almost nonexistent now. i still have an occasional australian buyer. tens of 1000s of people have been laid off recently, especially in the tech industry. it appears that a lot of consumers are cutting back now which probably explains why sites like zazzle are having occasional 20-50% off sales.

      Well ads aren't for new sellers in my opinion..... Start off small with no ads and figure out what sells first.... You don't need ads to get a sale it just helps you get more sales.
