When you caramelize sugar, at the beginning mix the sugar and water well without heat. Then turn on the heat and do not stir until the color turns to golden or amber. Stirring while the sugar is changing to caramel will cause crystallization.

i did try caramelizing the sugar twice just like how you did on your video.. but it turns into crystal.... i just waste 2 cups of white sugar... Ending....i did not proceed anymore..

Hi i have used the recipe and it really good. Whats the shelf life of custard cake if you put it into a chiller? Like if I make it today, will it still be good after 3-4 days?
That should still be good for up to 4 days.
I tried this recipe yesterday and i used AP flour and i omitted the cream of tartar coz wla kc dito...it turned out perfect madaling naubos,super sarap talaga

Hi. Sorry gas range ang gamit ko and ang heating element nya is nasa ilalim lang wala akong heating element sa ibabaw. But I think dapat parehong bukas kung electric oven ang gamit mo.
