My father had a 1972 Corvette with T-tops, the color was called LeMans blue, and the interior was black. It was such a gorgeous car, and fantastic to drive. I actually learned how to drive in it when I was 16, which might sound like every teenage boys dream. However, we lived in San Francisco, which is not only a horrific city to drive in because of traffic, but it’s VERY hilly, and learning how to operate a manual transmission on hills that steep wasn’t easy. It was also my fathers car, and he was a demanding German immigrant who would scream and rant in German if I made the slightest mistake. When my father wasn’t available for driving lessons in his car, my mother would have me drive her car: a 1984 Toyota Corolla, a very boring car with an automatic transmission, but at least she had a very typically Swedish temperament: cool, calm & collected.
Not a 69/70 but still good. Smog regs started sapping power out of the once mighty big blocks. Still had the chrome bumpers front and back. To me the last year of real C3.
Great Classic! But, why didn't they fix the clock? I had a 1973 Vette. Most useless car I ever owned. But, I would have one again in a heart beat. Loved to drive it. This video brings back the sensation. Thank YOU!
