    I bought a 2012 iLoad a few years ago and have learnt allll about leaking injector seats and blocked oil pickups.

  • @stephenfrancisvoros382

    Thanks man, great info, I own a 10/2008 120 series, I was aware of the injector seats leaking, in earlier engine that lead to oil pick up blockage, the seats were upgraded around by around 2/2008, fixing that fault, knowing this I made sure I'd buy one that was manufactured after this, recently at 175,000 on it, the last 15,000 I've heard a change in motor, idling a little rough cold, I was thinking injectors, gave it an injector flush a few times, with no real change, I've owned it since it had 110,000, it was x QFleet, well serviced, as I have, so I'll be doing what you've suggested for sure, keep up the good work.
    Cheers
    Stephen

    Friends and family say " sell your old 4wd and buy a more modern one " When I see a video like this I think I'll stick with my old Toyota troopy with it's straight 6 diesel engine, yes it's less efficient, underpowered but it's RELIABLE in the bush , no fancy common rail diesel crap , a lot smoother / quieter than a direct injection 4 cylinder, only had one fuel injection pump rebuild in it's 320 000km life and that was due to mainly dirty fuel / not replacing fuel filters regularly and running out of fuel a few times in the rear tank due to a broken fuel sender . My HZJ75 has an oil pressure gauge as standard , I'm guessing this 4wd doesn't have one ?

    It's up to the owner/operator to keep on top of maintenance of their Prado or Hilux. Like you say when the "red" light comes on, the damage has been done! The red light coming on is to immediately turn off the engine to prevent any more further damage. The only way to avoid this situation is to fit a oil pressure gauge, but even a oil pressure gauge is limited to saving an engine? For example out on the highway without watching the gauge it can be all to late. Regular oil changes will avoid this type of damage. Even as you have said in your past videos. I change my engine oil every 5,000 kms, for the price of oil and a filter it's cheap insurance.

  • @4bnewb969
    @4bnewb969 Před 3 lety

    How many kms is a function of how fast you are going when the engine is running. So the issues will occur at certain engine hours not kms which explains why some vehicles are affected earlier than others. Have you been able to determine what hours ?

    I think this is a very long winded video. It rabbits on about injectors but only at the end does it actually touch on briefly why injector servicing is important. Instead it talks about the oil pick up being blocked and causing oil starvation. Ie dirty oil and lack of servicing. So logically most of us would conclude if you change the engine oil regularly this shouldn't happen. Which is correct in part. As clearly there is another aspect to the injectors which basically is to deliver fuel that isn't well articulated. Or well understood. One of the big issues with injectors failing is that it can lead to diesel fuel diluting the engine oil. In bad examples the sump literally progressively fills with fuel and this destroys the essential lubricating capability of the engine oil. Some engines are particularly prone to this risk.
    Cheers and thanks will do some more research into my vehicle and get injectors serviced and or replaced.

    • @Fourby4Diesel
      @Fourby4Diesel  Před 3 lety

      That actually isn’t correct if you follow the manufacturers service schedule on this engine in particular you most likely end up with fuel system contamination every 40,000 km damaging the injectors that would be expensive please keep watching videos the workshop Mechanic but we thank you for your input you just not on point yet

    If this sound was developed instantanally, This engine could have a leaking inyector at some degree prior hydraulically Block the piston. Botton end could be ok if the engine has not been running for longer period. Anyway an oil analisis should be performed for better recommendation of the botton end, if the problem is just an injector

      You must maintain your vehicles, must know what to look out for in order to save thousands, in fact worst case senerio which unfortunately happens too much as injectors and or injector seats are not being maintained when they need to be.
