These videos resurfaced an old memory of mine. As a wee kid I happened across a copy of another game in this series called ChoroQ (HG 4 in Japan) and I was OBSESSED with it. I loved the concept of a "CarPG" and never found anything else quite like it. I'm going to look up how they work on emulators now, thanks to your videos.
My friend told me about this game 4 years ago. I stumbled upon your playthrough of it in recent days and it made me buy the game right away. I'm currently close to finishing it in 100% - 17 stamps left, around 40 coins, finishing all the A class races and winning the Grand Prix. Gosh this game is so much fun, and it's so cute and innocent too. Thankfully ChoroQ HG3 (Gadget Racers in the EU) is as good as this game. Sadly developers changed for the 4th game and it's not as good...
if you're considering changing the color of the car, try doing a bright neon green. or putting bright green decals/decor on the pink car! but i do suggest changing the body occasionally. i liked having that scuffed looking Mercedes for a while. personally i vote for the humvee in white mountain.
I like the ladybug body you mentioned in this episode as well, to get it you'll want to talk to Coine from Fuji City (I think?) and have them move to My City, then they'll give it to you if you enter their place with 40 total coins collected

If you acquired all the 100 stamps in the game, you can exchange it to the white lotus esprit guy in cloud hill for something absurdly overpowered. However, in order to get the 100th stamp you must became the president, so save this for later.
My vote is to stick with the Micra until you unlock the Ladybug car 🐞. As for how you unlock it, I don't want to spoil, but as a hint, the process starts in Fuji City...
If you'd like a really strong teammate, you need James. Hes a silver mazda cosmo in the starting town, once you do a quest for him you can recruit him to your team. He'll almost always be top 5 and on occasion beat the gt40.
If you're unsure about car color, I'd recommend painting your cars in the same color scheme as your ad billboards. That way it looks like a sponsored livery.
I'd vote for a body, but you haven't discovered the one I'd vote for. I am absolutely enjoying watching you experience this game for the first genuine go, it's really fun seeing someone finding the secrets in this game on their own again. I'm really impressed how well you did with the Rocket Le- I mean Football mini-game first try.I do have some more simple tips without spoilers to help you where you're at in the game: -L1 and L2 control your wings, the setting they're on are shown where your Speedo is. Up position lets you fly further and go higher in the air off jumps, Down does the opposite. -Collecting stamps shows your progress in certain quests, getting every stamp 100%'s the game (one of them is "Become The President!") and grants a special reward from a specific car you can encounter. -Bars have a car in them that will tell you something helpful, every bar (one per town), and when you heed their advice, they will have more information for you. -Upon entering any shop, those parts will now be available at the MyCity shop of the same type. For instance, bodies in White Mountain will now show up in the MyCity body shop as you have entered it. (The game should tell you this, but it doesn't, and it's not obvious) -The maze in Fuji City is extremely hard to learn, took me a solid half hour my first go. There is a visual map available online if you wish to complete it in a reasonable timeframe. -Next time you're in Chestnut Canyon, talk to someone, literally anyone, and read what they say. -You are soon reaching the point of grinding for money to buy better parts for you and your teammates, which means repeating races for money or gambling. love the videos mate. these style of games suit your channel and i reckon you should find some more like this, old or modern. odd games, not just car adventure games. the editing is nice and chill as well, i cant stand some other adhd editing, although some of the zooms are a bit unnecessary and imo annoying. but most of them are fine cause its like pointing to the screen when youre sat there with someone. i kind of love the feeling a channel has when its this underground, but obviously i wanna see you grow dude, so keep it up! :) take care and have a good one.

There is a path to follow on the maze under water at fuji city, the way you have to take have slight red light on the ground if you take time to check. It’s not easy but it’s better when you know that the path is highlighted on the ground ! Good luck with the rest of the game :)

something ive been putting off to tell you, is (although i havent played this, its probably true), most racing games, if not all, starting a race, dont hold down on the throttle until the race actually starts (or maybe half a second before), so you dont get alot of wheelspin, thats the reason why alot of npc cars have been getting such good head-starts compared to you
Don't want to spoil much since a lot of the fun of this game comes from figuring most of this out yourself... But having replayed this again as an adult because of nostalgia recently I found out after tearing my hair out for hours that you can softlock yourself if you complete the World Grand Prix before solving the kidnapping sidequest in Fuji City because it makes one of the requirements impossible so be sure to get that done before you do the WGP! Otherwise you'll never be able to get all 100 stamps.
