    this worked for me. The right side of my roof did not close properly, I opened it manually and closed it manually. Now works as usually. If took it to the dealers, well you know. THANKS

    Great video. Helped me with unlatching my top manually

    The video was very helpful. The top left side had latched but not the right side. Misaligned the top due to a passenger window malfunction while in the closing sequence. I was able to release the left side hook with the Allen wrench as you described. Next, disconnected the negative side of the battery for 15 minutes and "rebooted" the car. pushing the close button latched the top closed. Held our breath and completed a complete open and close sequence with no issues. Thank you!

    Great video; finally some good information from somebody who knows what he's doing and demonstrates clearly, helped me understand how the top works.... unfortunately I've got an issue to troubleshoot haha. When trying to open the top electrically, trunk goes up, parcel shelf moves down but stays horizotal, I hear the latches operating, the flappers move by about an inch, and thats it.....it stops in that position. at this point I cannot do anything without restarting the car.
    After doing so, I can either reclose everything, or move the flappers by another inch. I did this many times until the flaps were fully extended, but then I,m stuck there.
    I watched videos of the top operating, and it seems like the shelf should get vertical at the same time as the flaps extend....
    Is there any condition that could be missing that's causing the movement to stop ?
    In short, trunk goes up and shelf down.
    Then flaps move a bit, latch seems to unlock, and it stops there.
    Any idea what I should be lookin for ?

      Rear parcel shelf and motors/mechanisms have probably to be replaced.

    Thank you for this video. If I manually open the top, can I drive the vehicle as I normally would (without any beeps over 5mph) my Infiniti is my 2nd/3rd car and I can just park it in the garage with the top Down and use it on sunny days..

    My trunk seems to be misaligned. There is a much bigger gap on the passenger side near the top corner of the trunk and the back pillar. The convertible still works and doesn't get stuck or anything but I'm concerned about that gap. How to I realign this?

    Hi Sir, I followed your instruction on closing the lid, now hooking the actuators back together to hook the system back together. Do I need to manually close the locks? Or bleed the system?

    I have a 2009 g37 convertible so recently the trunk open light pops on as I’m trying to open the top
    I took it to a Infiniti dealership and they told me I need a hydraulic pump and want to charge 10,000 to fix it. I know they’re trying to rip me off but I refuse to let them take my money

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  Před 3 lety +2

      Glad you found us! Swapping the pump is fairly easy. If the Nissan dealer closed everythng properly for you, then you can swap the pump yourself, or let a good mechanic do it. We show every step of the way in our video on pump replacement, see czcams.com/video/oPVzBM0ZBGw/video.html
      Btw, while it is natural to get upset with the Nissan/Infiniti dealer for quoting so much, it's not really their fault. They are told by Infiniti that swapping the whole system is the only option, because Infiniti's contract with their parts supplier provides only the full hydraulic system for the top. Crazy, huh?
      Some outstanding dealerships that are more focussed on what's good for the customer will install our parts cheerfully.

      @@jeanwashington7494 We sell the pumps. They are rebuilt original pumps, made better than new inside. Here they are on our website: www.tophydraulics.com/infini/624-2810-special-option-core-exchange-for-06-13-infiniti-g37-hydraulic-pump.html#/58-model_year-2009

    You really seem to know your business, but this doesn't help me with my problem, which is that the top is stuck in the open position. If I try to drive the car it just continuously beeps until you come to a stop. Is there a way to manually close the top, or at least disconnet the anoying beeping? Thanks

      @TopHydraulics  Před 2 lety

      Excellent, congrats! Glad to hear that the MatCo computer can do it. This means one does not have to go to the Nissan/Infiniti dealer any more to have work on the roof done if there was an electrical problem. Is the Matco computer also able to calibrate the rear shelf? The latter tends to be the most stubborn problem when a top has stopped operating mid-sequence.

    I have an issue with my top. The sequence starts, trunk opens regularly, windows come down, but when it comes to the unlatch part, i hear clicks but no release. I tried the manual way in the video, got it undone, but it won't move anywhere else. I tried continuing the sequence since everything else is working but the unlatch and it closes it up again as if I hit close instead of open. Any suggestions?

  • @mcd1954

    When I close my top, near the end of the procedure, when the top is latching at the front, I hear a set of 3-4 very quick clicks, as its's locking into place. What is that an indication of, or is it normal / ok?

    When I try to open the top, in the middle of the operation it just get stuck and don't open or close, then I have to turn off and then turn on the car to close the top, initially it used to show trunk open sign, I don't even try to open it anymore and I'm seeing one side of the trunk flipper is kind of loose. Can you please tell me what might be the problem?
    Thanks,

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  Před 3 lety

      Thanks for asking. Let's fix the known problem first and take it from there. This may already take care of it. Take a close look at the flipper, compare left side to right side and see whether the fliper can be fixed or must be replaced. The flipper is something that you should be able to replace yourself, if it is broken.

    How can you manually open the top if I can’t open the trunk

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks for asking. I believe you had stated in a comment to a different video that your partition is stuck in the down position and that you cannot open the trunk for that reason. There is an emergency release lever pretty much in the middle of the trunk's top. If you pull that lever forward (towards the front of the car), the trunk lid will unlatch in the rear. Take a look at the following segment of this video, where we show a rope tied to the emergency release lever, so that you can visualize its location: czcams.com/video/Mw9TKUbdjyg/video.html
      Since your partition is down, it should be somewhat easy to grab that release lever (either contorting yourself or coming up with a tool that can reach the lever).

    Can Top Hydraulics work for me, in essence as a paid consultant to help me (I'm pretty mechanical) troubleshoot a non working 2011 G37 hardtop convertible? I bought the car knowing it had a problem...... I would love to have someone knowledgeable about pumps, actuators, etc. working with me.... step by step where possible? Please let me know if this type of service (online, through FB Messenger / Apple Facetime) or over a phone conversation is a possibility.

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for asking. You probably know how busy mechanics are these days, and that goes double for us. We never charge for advice, but we need to keep it efficient. Best contact us through the contact link on our website www.tophydraulics.com/contact-us, describe the exact problem, and we will try to talk to you over the phone to give you a decent start. Before you contact us, you may want to check whether the pump in the trunk is rusty, which typically means the pump is bad because it drowned in water.

      @@TopHydraulics Will do! I'll get the driver's side panel and back trim panel off the vehicle and thoroughly look over all the mechanicals. The car is a low mileage, really nice condition as it was owned by a 70+ year old man. He had a problem with it, didn't want to fool with it.... bought a new Mercedes and sold me this Gem for a real deal. I'm getting the error message of the top being in operation when it's not and partition error (like the trunk divider / partition isn't in place.... but it is). These two error message flicker back and forth.... and the console switch doesn't appear to have any function up or down. That is all I know, but will dig further before reaching out for any assistance. Thank you!
