- Driving the D211A in France, also known as Auris balcony road or Route de la Roche. I drove from La Garde to Le Freney-d'Oisans. This road doesn't deserve just a number! The awe-inspiring balcony road overlooks the Romanche valley from high above and is definitely the longest balcony road I've driven so far. Much advised if you're looking for a fun drive!

I loved it! Thank you very much for taking the time.
El Galo país. Un hermoso territorio. Mi bisabuelo es de ahí. Soy uruguayo. Mi apellido es Monestier. A los franceses, cálidos saludos.
The views in the video during 6min to 12mins are spectacular.
I can't speak English. I can only use translation
I'm from China. Thank you very much for providing such a high-quality driving film, so that I can more truly understand the scenery of Europe.
Oh yezzzzzz the most spectacular locations to enjoy cycling, every school and every teenager need to enjoy this amazing adventure, is unforgettable, now that there are electrical bycicles available, everybody get in action, discovering the Holy Creation because such a heavenly bliss indeed
Thanks! I have traveled a lot in the Alps, for 2020-2021!!! I'm glad to see new videos! Alpine Switzerland, France, Italy! This is my love! Thanks! I hope to travel again. As always behind the wheel.
Scenery is absolutely gorgeous 🚕🚗🚓🌴🌲🌳💖💖💖
Most amazing drive. It amazes me where people can build roads. Thanks for sharing.
Truly an incredible road, well driven, on a gorgeous day in the Alps. Thanks!
Breathtaking views! What an engineering feat! Thanks for a great ride😃
There are tons of similar roads everywhere in France. Like this one, with a 40 tons truck :

Awesome, what a breathtaking virtual ride I had, so amazing Balcony Road!!👍 Thanks for the ride my friend!🌹
The sound of the Tesla 3P really added to the experience! Great job!
What sound?
Sound like space ship!
Stunning. Needs to be on every bucket list.
Beautiful mountain drive ... Love from Singapore !!!
So beautiful!! Thanks 👍👍👍
I just drove it (by mistake) last week and there are certainly sections that are white knuckle terrifying! Really amazing that a road could have been built here at all. Next time I will take the valley road from Les 2 Alpes to Alpe D'Huez. The only road scarier may be the Les Travers (D220) across the valley!
Travelling and Driving is one of my favourites. Seeing all the beautiful scenic, it seems I ride in reality enjoy your videos👍
That was a really beautiful film.Thank you.
Nice one! The D219 on the other side of the valley is pretty impressive as well. 🙂
Thanks from France, You have also many roads like this one in the Alpes and the Pyrénées Mountains behind Nice, for example, which are also interesting to film and drive . Have fun.
You video has something relaxing due to the pictures and the sound of the car ! It's really good !
Great movie, congratulations 👍🏻
Just awesome and sublime, thank you!
Biking it is incredible. You can approche the wall so close that you have the same feeling than by mountainering.
great job...i feel like Im actually driving in France ...awesome videos....scenic views...
That was an incredible ride
Did most of this route 41 years ago in a landrover. No AC and it was packed full of us Climbers and our Gear !! I remember talking to someone about house prices then.... £15k for a nice cottage :-0 !
oh my Allah, that is so beautiful and amazing places, thanks buddy for sharing
Nice video lots of nice mountains as well
Thanks for the ride
What a fantastic road! - and a fatastic Video!!!
Glad you're posting these videos so I don't have to make these drives myself to see the views. 😉 I'd be soiling my pants if I tried driving it, especially in the sheer cliff sections, lol.
great road, thanks for sharing. At 2:00 its clear that taking the motorbike might be the better option
This is some scary beautiful stuff, but daytime driving is very white knuckle but nights must be insane.
Shame he was in such a hurry to get it over with.
Why driving so fast ?
It's a mountain street(only saw the thumbnail) and that means, drive it like a hill climb race track. In the limits of your track, I only get to the other lane when I can see clearly there comes nothing. I would say, in an border area, so that the police let you drive away but also you have some fun. Never the less never head less. When you can't overtake or it's to many traffic, you let it. Never get you our other in problems, this can be a family what you might cut. But when you have clear drive, I would drive in all this limits to have a little fun. It's just normal to me...
Greetings from Austria 😉
Are you driving a Tesla? I can hear a regen noise when slowing down. Amazing drive btw.
Amazing drive. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the ride!
the fact this was even built is beyond impressive.
The French do some awesome things in terms of road layout. Awesome things.
It's a very fun ride, my friend.. while looking at the beautiful scenery 👍
There are hundreds of roads like this one in France, but this is a nice video anyway, thank you.
Hundreds? Really?
@@gwarlow Yes, France is a fantastic place for driving around, just beware the speed cameras on some portions of the road.
Incredible scene and views 👍👍
Great! It was a wonderful view, thanks for driving me "in your car"! :-)))
LG Manfred
Fantastisch...
Realmente una maravilla. Muy lindo vídeo. Muchas gracias.
you know, watching these videos keeps making my trip planning for a coming Around the World sidecar ride harder and harder...
There's just too much to drive and explore :-)
Spectacular
Story of my life. I've ridden down in the valley and the high road over the Col du Sarenne - and so have managed to circle this road. Next time.
whoa breathtaking!
Simply Stunning Drive..... Might be a good Motorbike ride.... :-))))))
Have a look at this video, almost 10 years old, half way through fantastic views, don’t think I would be standing on the foot rests.

Simply awesome 👏 🌹👌
Another great video.
Super Fahrt 😁 in meinem Lieblingsreiseland !
What a stunning road, and nobody seems to know it
Nice drive... spectaculaire...
The truly strange thing when driving there is, that there is a lot of traffic. When I did this street on my motorbike August 2021 I met three trucks and more than a dozen cars comming contrary. Luckily I was always on the hill side. The strangest thing was, that there also children were driving their bycicles litterally aside a drop of vertical 500 meters!
Wow gorgeous scenery my friend
Very nice and silent Trip. 👍
D211A...D is for Departemental route, I think this route isn't departemental, it's communal or even Rural (that's why it's very narrow). Departemental routes are much wider (for big circulation). If I'm not wrong At 0.24 you leave the départemental route.
I'd like to see more road trips like this in 360 degree. Beautiful scenery.
Nice viedo regards from Ireland keep er lit☘️👍🇮🇪👍☘️☘️😍
Nice video sir
magistral !
I love the video but I hate the washing machine sound.
Try lowering the sound next time…
Great ride…thanks…be safe…
Gosh I would love driving
Lots of scary subsidence cracks in the tarmac.
Wow 😍
Amazing, great job :-)
Amazing ! It should be on ROUVY AR!
Sorry - One more question, when you mount the GoPro on the roof do you protect it with, say, the waterproof housing?
Hello, my new friend.
Wow, it's a very touching and healing drive course 💘💚❤ video.
It's an honor to be a friend of your great channel 💘💚💛.
Have a happy 🌺💚💘 day
👍👍👍🤙👌
Too fast for such a narrow road and you should use car horn.
Was the car an EV? No engine noise!
Tesla.
I enjoyed it too much like always...
Wow Amazing bro
I can envision myself driving this road in an Aston-Martin DB9! On the the other hand it must be tough in the winter time!
route fermée en hiver .
@@philippebocquin3602
In that case I'll stay home!
@@touchofgrey5372 Sinon monte a l'alpes d'huez

Merci, but I'll just go in the summer time!
are these the true colors? 5500k? I am surprised by this golden light as for the Grand Colombier pass. I also have the GoPro8 and in flat color mode it is still a bit more colorful than the real thing. It is a light that does not exist in Reunion, except perhaps when the volcano smokes us.
I would say it looks quite natural to me. The Alps are incredibly beautiful on a sunny autumn day, when the air is crisp and less hazy than in the summer. (Don't know what season this was filmed in, it just looks Septemberly to me, could be June though as well).
1:50 no guard rail on the edge might be a little alarming
Thank you,, I miss u!
where did you mount the GoPro? behind the wind screen or outside? white balance isn't perfect, what is the reason , any idea?
Imperfect white balance? Didn’t ruin the experience for me…
Wow.
What local committee decision decided gorgeous mountain valley pass road should not have been engineered another 6 feet wider..
Thank you for public the video! Next week I'll be doing the Grandes Routes des Alpes and then I'll be doing this route too. The prospects are spectecular.
The route is terrific. Unfortunately we had fog on September 10th, 2021 and could therefore only enjoy the great view to a limited extent.
Best road for my Hymer S520
next to this the Beartooth Pass is a piece of cake! It's just as well there did not appear to be any cars going in the opposite direction - is it one way?
@@clientclient6262 route a double sens !
Its more fun if you'll go cycling
Obrigado por postar...
Amazing! What if you return on a sunny day and same time of day?
Superb video, as always 👍 Can I ask what is your setup ? Where is the cam, the mic (no sound from the inside) ?
Thanks! I mounted a GoPro with a suction cup on the roof of the car and have a microphone in the "frunk". Still not super happy about the audio quality since it's muffled a lot in the frunk, but it's the best place I could find at the moment.
@@RoadtripThroughTheLens A very effective suction cup with this speed 😉 the sound suits me personally, thank you for this quick response 😀👍
Why cannt this road be in wrc10 ? It would be one heck of a rally.
Someone was driving way too fast and dangerously for the road. I'd rather see the views than the road!
