Deep Fake with Architects in Australia - Troy Wright Live Drum Cam

- This is the third and final playthrough I'll be uploading from the tour I played with Architects in Australia from earlier in the year!
This was from the Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on the 22nd of February. The footage was shot on GoPro with audio mixed from foldback engineer Dan Williams similar to my stage mix minus click.
Big love to all the band, crew and Dan Searle for asking me to fill in for these shows! I had a fucking blast!

Great playing and mix, so nice to actually hear the guitars prominently as they are really pushed back in the actual release.
Agreed! I’ve been listening to these play throughs and wondering where these guitars were on the album release. Weird creative choice to drown them out on such an otherwise well produced record.

Really amazing!! Stupid question: the triggers on the drums are used to trigger samples from the spd? if so how do you manage to play the cross stick without activating the samples?
Hey Enrico, actually a really good question! The SPD was just for the pad samples and FOH Engineer Jonny Burgan used the triggers as gates for the drums

Funny story: back in 2010, somebody released a video of a fake Architects new song "Royal Blood" which was actually by Australian band Lovers Grave. Despite it being a hoax, that particular demo version song was actually really fucking good. I'd never seen anyone put a D6 on the rack tom until I saw an old, crappy live video of them performing in a small venue with that setup. I was raving about it to a producer friend of mine but he called it overkill and a bad idea. I'm convinced that both toms and kick are D6'd on that demo version too and it sounds SO good.
I'm just happy somebody else noticed the rack D6 here! It's one of my favourite mics.

Unfortunately during this show (actually the snare hit in the breakdown of this song), I hurt my left wrist so I had to play the rest of this set with a strap so it effected my playing a little 😅 Doomsday was later in the set. I was planning on covering A Match Made in Heaven and A New Moral Low Ground in the studio soon so I might include Doomsday just for you haha
