Another idea for those who want a book, make your own notebook. Print off recipes you like or want to try, and make lots of notes, including where the videos are to watch for each recipe. You can also make it look really fun by decorating your notebook. Then you will have your own sort of book just the way you want it.

Love your “you can do it…it’s not that hard” comment in the video regarding sewing the skirts. My 8 year old daughter sewed a 3 tiered gathered for herself last summer. She used a vintage pattern that I had for the width for each tier. She did a great job with gathering each tier and sewing them together and is so proud of herself for doing it. This summer she decided to tackle a sundress and won a Best of Class ribbon for it at our county fair.

For people that want a skirt, I learned from Heidi how to sew! I could not sew other then putting on a button! I loved her skirts so much, I just got some colorful fabric, and did what she shows. By hand, I don't have a machine, nor do I want one. It took me 6 months, making a lot of mistakes, so a lot I had to do over, but I ended up with a beautiful skirt! And now I sew other things as well, I have gotten the sewing virus.. I am so grateful to Heidi, I am finally wearing the clothing I loved all my life, but I could not get it in the stores, now I can make my own. So, if you want a skirt, just try it! If I can do it, for sure you can do it! ❤Oh, I get my fabric on an online market where people can sell all of their stuff, new or second hand. There are so many that have a ton of beautiful fabric laying around, that they put on the market for peanuts! Like I found over 7 yards of 100% beautiful wool for 40 euros! That cost 35 euros a yard 10 years ago she said, but she wanted to get rid of it. (And yes, it is real wool, by now I have learned a lot, and you can test or something is wool or not. You can find online how to do that.) I check that market often, with patience, and only buy if it is a really good deal, but I have a lot of quality fabric by now really cheap. Maybe there is something simular in your area? And, if you have a problem with a metal thimble, (like I can't get used to them), I found you can make yourself a leather thimble. (Also to be found online, there are videos how to do that.) The leather thimble is perfect for me! I used a scrap of an old worn out leather jacket, soft leather, but sturdy enough to not let the needle go through. I did not even have to get used to that! I did make mine longer then the one in the videos, so it doesn't come off so easily, and I have no problem with it what so ever. Easy enough to make as well!

I am reminded of a quote that expresses the feeling of having all these project possibilities and not being able to do all of them - “Sometimes I can feel my bones straining under the weight of all the lives I’m not living.” - Jonathan Safran Foer. Everyone wants to be successful, and yes, we all need to make a living, but sometimes the drive (for women mostly) is to do too much and it's always family that loses out. You're a wonderful example of intentional balance in your life. Creating more "income streams" is a lot of work and commitment and as you said, something else has to give.

Well at this point, wouldn't it be best if we want skirts, to watch your instructions and make our own exactly how we want it? I did that for my little girl. She loves her skirt and I went way cheap and used her old clothes, cut em up into squares and sewed it into a knee high skirt for her. Even put in an adjustable waist so I can add more fabric as she gets taller and wider with age. Its the skirt that could last a lifetime. Thank you for the great ideas.

I can so relate to making your grandbabies your priority. I too have one to three grandkids at a time on any given day despite having chronic illness and having the demands of growing and preserving what food and medicinals I can in an apartment. I began watching your channel in 2018 while I was searching for ways to be self sufficient on a very very low budget on disability. I couldn't afford groceries let alone reference books to learn from. Your channel became my most used encyclopedia of "yes you can" even if you don't have the fancy gadgets or a degree in "how to". The fact that you do not have a "for more information purchase my book or my course" has made me never stray from this channel in search of something better. Thank you for being my perfect fit during these times in my life where most people would just give up. A note to fellow Rain Country fans and others: Try recording a video with instruction and appropriate visuals just using your phone. And include the references you used to bring it together. Interestingly enough, I have someone who has been emailing me the past couple of days demanding I look up information for them and even though I told them I do not have the time for that right now and gave them what information I knew off hand, they are still "asking" (their manipulative wording is clearly a demand under the guise of trying to sound polite) that I make time to look these things up for them when they can just as easily do it themselves. People like that seem to think I am here just to be at their beck and call and have no respect for the many other responsibilities I have.

You always reference back to previous videos when you change a process or recipe. Do that in a book!😂
I’m absolutely amazed at all you do, I really don’t know how you keep up with it. Family is always number 1 and I salute you for your dedication to them.

Thank you so much. I love gardening, but I am now busy working and can't do it. However, I wish you were my neighbor. I could learn so much from you, believe me, I don't even have to go to work, then I would've gone part-time. You are the complete package of my ideal woman, smart and adequate as a family person. This is a method of living that is very godly. I’m jealous. I love you and pray that God will grant you and your loved ones the health and wellness they deserve. (you are right enjoy your life and we should thank you for giving your time and compassionate heart to the public once again thank you is enough but I have no way to express how I feel about devotion and love may God reward you my dear sister )💞💕💕💕🌹

Hi Heidi, you have done such beautiful things, for which you and we should be grateful. It's good that you know which things have priority in your life and that you can put certain things down now. Thank you for all your videos, your recipes, your creativity. God bless.

I agree about not writing a book which can be very expensive & risky but not only that.... We are already saturated with books on all this information which you gather your information as well that actually comes from experts & scientists in these fields. People can print out any information & bind it together if they want a book. Best Selling popular authors have all this information already out there.

Heidi, I support you and your priority of grandkids/family. You are an inspiration, a very productive and disciplined person... a "Proverbs 31" woman! Thank you for all the free info you give us and for taking the time to write things out for us. You are pleasant to listen to and watch and you do a great job on your videos. I'm always surprised to see yet another video from you... it's like you have 48-hour days! LoL BTW- a friend of mine has Shingles- do you recommend anything topical for the pain? Thx! God bless you!

It really depends on the type of pain you mean but here is my oil infusion for a joint and muscle rub: czcams.com/video/oDZCAXxH4U8/video.html
and if you ant to add essential oils to it that really help with immediate relief, here is the video on that: czcams.com/video/5yrNGcgeMDE/video.html

Grand babies! God is certainly good. I have one, and although I have 3 married sons, the other 2 probably won't have any because I think they developed a medical condition from medical treatments they recieved recently.
I'm so lucky to have my granddaughter and her parents living with me as I started my journey on homesteading and self sufficiency. The child saves seeds from everything she eats and wants to grow them. She plays with the chickens, only 1 is laying, but she gets excited to gather the egg. She wants to incubate every one she gets. We actually have 4 chickens we hatched in an incubator and she watched 1 from pip to complete hatch. How many kids get to witness that miracle? The child talks like a little farm girl using all the garden and chicken raising lingo. "Grandma, do you think Yellow is broody?"
There is nothing more important than teaching our grandchildren values, self sufficiency, and the importance of learning to rely on what God gives us in nature. Although I'd love a book by you, I understand your priorities. I have the same one.

Family is priority! My son got married a year ago and although I don’t bug him to have kids, I did tell him if he does, I will be the babysitter! He lives four hours away but if/when the time comes and they have a kid, guess where I’m moving!! I’ve already got my plan ready. 😉

Always good to set boundaries. And informing others helps them limit their expectations. Being a new follower I did not really have any expectations, the video was very informing of all you have going on. You are a busy lady and I appreciate the fact that you share as much as you do. Thank you for that and I look forward to watching more of your videos.
