@@olkasbrix The availability of E85 coupled with the V8 crowds acceptance of turbocharging has really pushed what can be done by the average enthusiast forward. His combination is already super common, LS Fest is next week. More than half of the 8.50 Street Race field at Drag Week is Turbo LS setups.

2JZ S13 runs 145mph in the 1/8th very fast car. Jason overpowered the tyres on that run and ran a 9, but that's racing 👍

They didn't I think he's referring to the suspension when he says relatively standard. No Holden has ever been produced standard with a Ford 9 inch diff.
They didnt come with an ls or powerglide either lol he meant suspension was mostly stock
I understand that people go 2/3spd for the times and strength
But is there, legitimately, a 5/6spd H box that can handle 1000+hp without being ‘built’?
Rpm in america Do have h-pattern t56s to handle power. Obviously not a standard boxes thou.

Well if it's registered and drives on the street its a street car. Street car and being street legal are two different things.

The choice is either you can do 9 seconds in a 720S for $400,000 or according to California CARB about the most power you can make and still remain 50 State Legal is about 500-600 starting with a Mustang or LX Car (300, Dodge Charger, Challenger) , bolting up a Kenne-Bell Supercharger, stock cats, upgraded headers that don't move the stock h-pipe location and good cat-back. With suspension maybe high 10's for $50K? Years ago we had a class that you had to be 50 State legal and pass a smog test as a part of the competition. E85 conversion are not 50 State legal either. If you live in more lenient state you can get away with more obviously but following the rules and enforcement are two different things. There is a grey area in CA Emissions laws that a new car purchased new doesn't have to be smog tested for seven years. That might change in the near future but as of now that is the case, so unless your caught doing something stupid (revving engines, burnouts, street racing, donuts in parking lots, etc, etc) CHP will generally leave you alone.

The car went 8.0 the week before. Consdering he's knocking on the door of a 7 in a street car, it's quite an achievement.

Beast60 😂😂 Barra’s are for blokes that are scared to go fast. A Barra would need 50psi plus to even come close to running these times. LS THE WORLD 💪🏼
@@lsx4276 Don't understand your point? If you bolt-on a turbo large enough to really take advantage of then 50 psi on a Barra is over 1,000 hp. Almost anybody can drop a V8 into something, boost it and go single digits. I'm shocked more don't do it. Maybe variety is the spice of life and others just don't want to copy what somebody else is done you usually end up with the same result.
