Thankfully I somehow retained some memories from all the beer. So at least I have those! Rubin and I chatted and I am going to wait until he has created a manual for the build. The plan is for me to build it based off that manual, and then I can give him notes on it.
I've misplaced my Airtronics M8, I can't find it anywhere. Anyway, I always used Novak XXL receivers w/ Cyclone ESCs. I still have my Kinwald XXX. My daughter (21) has my Matt Francis XXXT. Too bad you stated you're an Associated guy. I've thought about getting back into the hobby but it seems Traxxass has taken over everything. I remember when they weren't even a joke
I remember when I got my M8. What an amazing piece of tech that was. There's still plenty of non-Traxxas stuff out there, but it is a different world: Hobby shops, through Traxxas' weird and shady business, basically only stock Traxxas. However, there is so much more in online resources now. That's the real big shift that has happened since we were young.
@@quietrc I can't decide if I want a Dumbo 6ch or skyfly 6ch. My local track closed 2 decades ago, so there will be no need for class specific builds for me. I have trouble sorting out KV vs Turns, I know what to expect from a 9T Trinity monster & also a ROAR stock motor. KV, I think, is 1V=1K turns of the motor armature. (?) I also wonder what happened to just being a 540 can? Lol
I started building it just a couple days ago. However, ran into a glitch with one of the parts. Ruben has already sent me a replacement. So, hoping to get back to it ASAP.
