    Yep. Siphon effect. Easy & effective. We cut a large plastic coke bottle in half. Used the cap end to screw on the hose. It’s much more efficient having a big large scoop like the bottle.

    I would use a shorter hose and duct tape a vacuum attachment to the end of it 🤗

    I might use that for the small dust but I use a piece of filter media to catch thos bigger pieces once I swirl the pool to get it along the lines at center. My poly pool has a star pattern with I think 6 lines. Thank you for this.

    I have always ended my swimming for the day by making a whirlpool -- leaves it pretty much set to clean the next day.

    I think you are correct about the galvanized tank. Chlorine pool chemicals may create a very large battery. I have 4 -55 gallon plastic rain barrels that I bleach to keep the 'skeeters down.

  • @twistandsproutmicrogreens

    they make a small spa vac that has a mesh bag on it that you connect to a water hose. they are cheap and a lot let work. No water loss with them either.

    • @maxspeedadventures
      @maxspeedadventures  Před 2 lety +1

      True, I had one of those when I had my bigger pool. Thank you for sharing the idea. With this video I was going for showing a way it could be done with what most everyone already has. Also I only lose less than 5 gallons of water. In southern Illinois our water is very inexpensive but I hadn’t considered the cost elsewhere.

      Thank you for the great idea and thanks for subscribing! I was hoping to show a method that might work for anyone without use of tools or electricity etc. I’m sure yours is much faster and can help others too. These pools are a lot of fun because there’s so little maintenance to them. Thanks for watching, enjoy your stock tank!!!

    Just fill the hose with the house spigot and use a small ball valve so you don't clog your hand sprayer or stir up the bottom moving the length of hose around in it. Plus you don't drag dirt in from a dirty hose.

    I just keep a cover on mine, it keeps the dirt out and the cool in. And in Texas heat that's important.

      The leak actually healed itself. I believe the weight of the water had enough force and everything settled into place. Thank you for the question, best of luck with your pool!

      I buried mine 1' deep and it keeps a constant cool through Texas summers. That and the cover keep it cool enough that it takes my wife 10 minutes to finally sit..

  • @kimdavis5669
    @kimdavis5669 Před 2 lety

    So, what do you use when you have to use anything?? And would I need to put a cover on it when we don’t use it during the summer?

    • @maxspeedadventures
      @maxspeedadventures  Před 2 lety

      Hi and great question! I don’t cover mine because I can skim it daily with a simple pool net in about 5 minutes or less. I get an occasional leaf and some flower pedals and a few bugs but it seems easier to me to clean those than to mess with a cover.
      On the chemical topic, last week I did add some. I had went about a month and a half with nothing. I really think if I kept a clean filter in my pump, I could have went longer. I replaced the paper filter and added about 1 cup or 8 ounces of algicide and 1 chlorine tablet in my float. The water cleared up and looks and smells great. I hope this helps!

    Why does the bottom of the tank look dirty?

    • @maxspeedadventures
      @maxspeedadventures  Před rokem

      Well, let me try to cover the options. In the beginning of the video it was dirty, I had not cleaned it for awhile. There is a seam down the middle of the tank where the two pieces of metal come together, and it’s a different color. That may be what you’re seeing. I noticed even after it’s clean, there are some shadows from the deck and trees that you may be seeing after the cleanup is done as well. I hope this helps!

    • @longislandred65
      @longislandred65 Před rokem

      Ah that makes sense. Looking at it again, I see it is the shadows from the tree branches that create the illusion. Thanks for clarifying.

    Get a small sump pump and will go in less than 5 min moving it by hand this is crazy he said 15 min I don’t think so

    • @maxspeedadventures
      @maxspeedadventures  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello, I actually said 10 minutes. With taking time to video and set up it took 20 minutes which I proved by showing my watch. The point of the video is not speed however, the point of the video is to demonstrate a way to clean your pool with something everyone with a pool already has. Thus the title word, inexpensive. Thank you for sharing your idea, a sump pump would be very fast and easy! I hope it helps someone who is looking for a faster method, I would just warn that they don’t get their electrical cord in the water.

  • @mikeglasgow9618
    @mikeglasgow9618 Před 2 lety

    Why not walk around the pool. Get out. Wait till everything settles to the center. Use a shop vac and you would lose about the same amount of water and be done in about 2 minutes

    • @maxspeedadventures
      @maxspeedadventures  Před 2 lety +1

      Sounds like a great idea. I was just going for an easy way anyone with a pool could do. I think a garden hose and net are mandatory for a pool.
