Simone started as a metal princess back in 2002, became a Queen in Retrospect 2013 and now in Omega era she’s already a Goddess. The technical skills, the confidence, the control, the special charisma which is not of a warrior but a mighty fairy. Just incredible.
Love this song, Simones voice is perfect to cellos. Would not mind if Apocalyptica would become Simones second home 😁.
Simone is Siren Of The Earth....this was perfection and everything! She only seems to get better over time and perfect match with Apocalyptica. She and Tommy Karevick of Kamelot have the most perfect pitch among the best metal vocalists. This song is a spiritual uplift both in the music and lyrics. Thank you both for sharing with us again....utter beauty.
This isn't the only collaboration between Apocalyptica and Simone. You've seen Rivers by EPICA live in Chile. Check out the performance of that song with Apocalyptica, live at AFAS in The Netherlands 2023. The 2 bands were on tour together.

Both bands were on an 'Epic Apocalypse Tour'. I had an honour to attend one of the concerts. It was soooooooo good. I went mainly for Epica but Apocalyptica impressed me so much. It's crazy what you can do with cello.
Fantastic reaction. An absolutely hauntingly beautiful song. Originally an Apocalyptica instrumental song they added lyrics (I think Simone collaborated with the band on them) to the song Rise to create Rise again. I love the lyrics which tell the journey of someone in a toxic relationship and how they doubt themselves and how would their outlook change if they lost faith in their partner to finding the strength to let go and rise again. The scenes on the video wall are from the official music video for Rise Again, which is worth a look and listen as well. It is kind of trippy and in all honesty only loosely connects to the lyrics. The director said she was going for something whimsical and she nailed that. Loved the song from first listen but that music video took several views to finally grow on me.
Very cool venue, the Roundhouse in London, you get a good look at it, in the later EPICA tour vlog from the UK, Simone says it looks like a space ship, and it does 🙃
Apocalyptica with Simone is amazing. Rivers with Apocalyptica is stunning. Had seen the video for this a few times, but didn't know there was a live version. The live will be my goto now.
This right here is one of the reasons why I prefer Epica over Nightwish. Not by a lot .. but still slightly above.
in the background are frames from the video for this song, by the way this is a very beautiful and unusual video with aesthetics in every frame. Actually this performance is also an aesthetic orgasm, eyes and ears. Everything is so beautiful. Simone's dress, her voice, the light, the combination of purple and red hues, the delicate cellos - it's unreal. I take it you haven't had a reaction to the second performance of Epica + Apocalyptica on the channel yet? to the Epica song “rivers”, the cellos in it sound simply incomparable

Apocalptica is a CELLO-based symphonic metal band who collaborate with Epica, Rammstein and other metal bands on stage and in the studio......they are excellent.....and Simone Simons is a diva.......
