As a genderfluid/transmasc (still figuring it out lol) and a victim of grooming; it's not alike at all. Being groomed was one of the most traumatic things I've experienced and it just REALLY disgusts me that I'll probably be called a groomer when I'm a full adult because of my gender identity. Finding out about the LGBTQ+ community helped me a lot with figuring myself out while grooming basically destroyed a part of me. We came up with the names for these traits and how to categorize them. There is no true binary either, we just saw that most people fit into two different categories and assumed that there were only two genders. Because we are constantly evolving as a species and as a society, the binary we constructed to better understand our biology is becoming irrelevant and even a hindrance to further research. We don't perfectly fit into two categories, that's just not how nature works.

I socially started transitioning when I was around 11 (female to nobinary then later male) and all it was was a name change, pronoun change and a haircut.
It always confuses me when people say that children are "getting surgery" and what not.

As a female, I was the third fastest long distance runner in my town when I was a teen. We did cross country runs as mixed sexes. They had three different awards, men's top 3, women's top 3, then top 3 overall. I was 1st for the women and 3rd overall, I would've also been 3rd in the men's. This was done with about about 100 people, 50 men, 50 women. So I, as a woman, was faster than 48 men. The idea that men are always better at sport than women is just sexist. Most transphobia is just sexism repackaged with a little bow on it.
Also, my kids nursery was talking about families and they were told "some kids have 1 mummy and 1 daddy, some have 1 mummy and no daddy, some have 1 daddy and no mummy, some have 2 mummies, some have 2 daddies, some have 2 mummies and 2 daddies, some have 1 mummy and 2 daddies, some have 2 mummies and 1 daddy." I don't get what the issue with that is. Families come in all shapes and sizes, I don't see the harm in being open with children about different family dynamics. None are better than the others, they're all just families. My kid is 3 and knows about gay people, haven't really spoken about transpeople yet, but that's mostly because I don't think my kid would understand, my oldest knows. My kid asked about two men holding hands in public and I just said "they love each other, just like mummy and daddy do" my kid didn't care, my kid just carried on as normal after. Kids don't care, they also won't be "turned" just because they know something exists

I had almost the exact same conversation with my then 2yo when we were invited to a gay wedding. It was "oh, okay. ... What's for dinner?" When I commented that somewhere, I was accused of child abuse. For having that 1 minute conversation. Transphobia are absurd.

As a "normal" parent, I did not WANT my children to be transgender (and by this, I mean forcing my children to be a certain gender). But when my now son came to me at 5 and told me he was a boy, I LISTENED! And I followed his lead. As well as, shockingly, the doctors and psychologists we've seen to get him on HRT. He DEFINITELY knew who he was at 5. And, all my kids have known their sexual preferences from a young age. Sex education is perfectly normal to teach to kids in age-appropriate ways.
Theres no way a 5 year old got HRT.

At around 8 y/o I knew I was "Gay" and didn't want kids. I knew I was uncomfortable being called a girl and all that stuff. I hated having hair and couldn't understand why i couldn't cut it off. I'm 39 now.... nothing has changed. Except now I get to live openly as myself for the most part.

I’m a white gay man living in the suburbs, I know I’m privileged. A lot of us white gay men don’t understand how privileged they are to be white, they focus on the fact that they’re gay and deny that there are people less privileged than them, and I used to be like this too, but I changed when I learned more about the world.
I've dealt personally with transphobic gay people at my local gay bars in the first 5 years of being fully out before I became a total fish. The owner of my local gay bar did not allow transgender women to use the ladies bathroom, so one night when everyone was out watching the drag show, I was in the men's bathroom alone when a guy entered the bathroom twice my size and shoved me into a stall while I was on six-inch heels and a pencil dress up to my bottom on a slippery floor and rapped me because I was so afraid I didn't fight back. I got bullied. Even when I went on vacation every year in P-Town, Massachusetts, where transphobic gay boys and men are at their worst, I also lived in Key West in 2009, worked at 801 as a performer, and stayed at the New Orleans Guest House for almost a year. Even in Key West, in a gay guest house , some gay men feel that transgender women don't belong in their exclusive hotel or club, and so they will shun women and do things like purposely miss gender trans-women. 🙄 After watching this video, I am afraid gay transphobia is only going to get worse unless something is done about this hate for transgender people.😞

Exactly. I'm one of those people. Me having access to gender therapy was so important. It's the reason I didn't make a mistake. If I didn't have access to that treatment, I might have made a mistake, that would have completely ruined my body, as I'm not actually transgender.

I *always* hated it when my mother put me in girly girly clothing and prefered male or very plain clothing most of the time. Now I just wear gender neutral clothing and leave it at that. I do get disphora sometimes, but not as bad as if I was trans. I see a very pretty girl and wish I had male parts, but I don't so... I figure that's just me being me.
Honestly the LGB is just a less inclusive LGBT. All the problems the LGBT community has had over the years with things like racism, transphobia (obviously), and allowing politics to interfere with the community’s greater purpose of unity are a thousand times worse over there. I love the word QUEER so much because it implies an US. It’s all-encapsulating and a great umbrella term for everyone in the LGBT+ community and it gives us a sense of community and being the same! We’re all in this together and as a gay boy and drag queen I will never stand for transphobia within my own community or at all period. when people try and say that kids can't know that they're trans, it frustrates me so much. My earliest memory is bottom dysphoria. and at 4 or 5 years old, I was telling my parents I wanted to be a girl, tucking alone in my room, and stretching out the necks of tee-shirts wearing them as skirts. Anyone who says a kid cant know their gender is either uneducated or an asshole.
I thought I was straight for over 20 years…
But so many kids want to experience being the other gender at that age. So this “trans experience” isn’t always that. Children are very inquisitive, listening to whatever kids want all the time isn’t the right answer to things.

Easter was before this other “holiday”. Also christianity is the most practiced religion that holds more than 2 billion members. So when speaking of more modern places in the world that would even celebrate this new “day” there are a lot of Christians.

I’m an asexual lesbian who’s two closest friends are apart of the trans community (one’s a demi girl ones genderfluid) and I whole heartedly support the trans community. Okay, I know a cis woman who had a botched breast augmentation surgery...so should all breast augmentation surgeries now be banned? Let's ban cars whilst we are at because there are horrific accidents! Risk is part of life - all we can do is minimise risk by doing our due diligence when it comes to surgeries (or really anything in life) and hope for the best.
